I disagree considering the % of prospects that fizz out compared to the fct that Grandal is already established. Like Melky, there is no way that he was on PEDs that long so any performance added is overstated by us, the fans. Plus, hello, switch-hitting catcher who can actully hit? That doesn't grow on trees.

Out of the 1,650+ career catchers there have only been 82 switch-hitters. They span the length of baseball from 1883 to the present day.

Out of curiosity who are some good left handed relievers that I could get for the Cubs without giving up too much.

Venters is one. He only costs a low-mid B. That's the best one I have...

Grandal's been in the league one year, and then he tested positive. That's hardly proving yourself. For all we know, Melky could've been using for the last 2 years, it's just a matter of not getting caught.

Of all the ____+ career pitchers, there has only been one one-handed pitcher. Just because something is supremely rare doesn't mean it's supremely valuable lol.

A switch hitter is valuable, though, and not because of rarity. Besides, how are PEDs relevant to a video game? He didn't get tested at all in mine.

                It'd be a cool feature.

In seriousness, though, I *think* you brought up his stats, so... yeah. If you didn't, my bad, but if he's only hitting like .260 in the OP's franchise, then my point stands that Hedges is better. I saw Hedges live this year (Fort Wayne, vs Aaron Sanchez and the Lugnuts) and he looked like he was easily the best catching prospect in the MiLB. I would've taken him over d'Arnaud (and still would), and that was when TdA was still on the Jays.

I'm actually dead tired (stupid hockey games in Russia, waking up at 4 AM), so if you didn't bring up his stats I apologize.

I didn't bring up stats but they are relevant at least to value. You are right in that it depends on the franchise, though. Even though Grandal might be a better catcher by having better ratings due to being further along in his development, the Rays might be fiscally wiser to take a player with more team control given their budget. I didn't consider that until now.

Honestly, Grandal/Hedges is really more of a preference thing. It's really up to the OP.

What do i need to give up for James Shields in 2013? He's at the Royals.

His stats currently are 7-7 with a 3.76 ERA. What do i need to give up?
I dont want to give up what the Royals did IRL. That was way to much IMO.

                      thanks in advance!

Is he there because of the Wil Meyers/Jake Odorizzi trade?

I agree. Now don't misread this like the Royals did. They thought it said 2 High A's...
