I want something for Alfonso Soriano. I don't care what it is, but I gotta ship him somewhere. Anyone done this? I'm gonna run a franchise with the Cubs, and need the outfield spot to move Byrd to left, and call up Brett Jackson.

i'd assume u wanna ship him to an AL team(cause of his defiencies in the field) so numerous AL Central teams like the Twins, Indians, White Sox....Soriano would be an upgrade over Revere/Duncan/Fukudome and can certainly DH

I'm thinking of doing the same. Damn, I keep on switching back and forth on teams I want to do a 'chise with. Anyway, you plan on keeping Byrd too? If I send away Soriano then I would probably want to send way Byrd to since he isn't going to send me to the World Series (realistically thinking).

I want to build my team around Starlin so I'll probably be trading away Soriano, Byrd, Garza, and maybe Soto. Any cub fans have insight on what I should do and whom I should go for in a trade?

Yeah, for the realistic feel I'd probably trade him to an AL team, but if I could get more from a NL team I'd be all for it. What are you thinking I could get for him? A low level prospect or a bullpen arm?

depends who that bullpen arm is...u could certainly get a mid-level prospect for Soriano

Let start out by saying how much I hope Cincy gets this extension deal done with Joey Votto. It sounds all but done, terms agreed upon just needs signing. Fingers crossed.

Walt has already dealt one of my most disliked player in Edinson Volquez and now another player I disliked Juan Francisco. Normally each year I would trade Francisco for Jeff Keppinger and play Kep behind Rolen at 3rd.

Walt is making my job so much easier. Almost like he is reading my mind.

Now it is time to deal Brandon Phillips. Lets see how many Phillips phans disagree. I agree he is a top third 2nd baseman, but there is something I just don't like about him. Normally each year I trade him away for Dunn or Barney Darwin. You just gotta like a guy named Barney Darwin.

So in real life it just seems unreal for the Reds to keep him and the salary he will probably be demanding along with Votto. Their combined salary would probably be 40% of the overall payroll. And in real life we have plenty of middle infielders coming along we can plug in.

Some speculate Phillips to be traded before opening day. Fingers crossed and sending Walt a telepathic message...DO IT!

Some say to the Phillies for possible Shane Victorino. I would not be opposed to that but still haven't given up hope on Stubbs yet. Maybe Hamels. Or a boat load of good prospects but I am not fimiliar with the Phillies farm.

So in MLB The Show 12, I trade Phillips to Boston for Pedroia. I include a prospect or Mesoraco and get Saltalamacchia....I know this isn't a trade Boston would probably make but both are close in skills...Pedroia a slightly better bat and Phillips a slightly better glove. Pedroia is a couple years younger, while Phillips is $3-$4M dollars cheaper. Or again to the Cubs for Darwin and let Phillips rot in Chicago.

Hope Tomko is still on the Reds roster after next update and OSFM release. I can not find out for sure if he accepted his minor league demotion. Tomko take a page from Francis go to the minors, with injuries or someones bad play you will be in the BIGS soon.

Now other than releasing Wilson Valdez and bringing Janish back up to get his playing time behind Cozart and Pedroia. I am happy with the Reds pretty much as they are...one big trade and a couple small moves and we are ready to play.

Oops...dislexia showing through...Sorry Darwin. Yeah...the Mesoraco is one scenerio before todays Live Update...originally it was Phillips/Mesaraco for Pedroia/Salty (it was the only way...other than a star like Votto or Bruce. Even tried Arroyo and Bailey before Mes) and I tried just about everything to get him back in another trade but without giving up a star player Boston would not budge. And I like Hanigan so no big loss.

But now after Live Roster Update I used a minor leaguer 2B Humberto Apaicio? instead of Mes. Can't wait to see how it goes with OSFM roster.

NoFatGirlz4You kinda confused by "take back Salty"...we (Reds) never had Salta...I know the Braves (obviously), then Texas and then Boston I think...

And yeah there is something about Phillips I just don't care for...they say he tweeted on his account about no Reds promotions involving him so he was thinking about having his own gold and silver bobbleheads made up to pass out. Whether that is true or not it is on the Reds Fan Blog. Whether it was a joke or not? But it is just the kinda of stuff he "jokes" about that gets a little tiring.

Probably going to start a Rays franchise when the rosters come out. Due to reyes moving to short and reports of Hanley being unhappy, I was thinking of trading for him. I would probably trade Matt Moore and some fillers for Hanley

Scott have to comment off topic. Saw one of your post a day or so ago and saw your Cece. And I was like I recognize her but didn't know who she was. Looked her up and realized I had seen her in the new show. Agree with you, she is nice.
