Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

    Two seperate deals here, first:

A's get: RP Jose Veras (B), 1B Nick Ramirez (B)
Brewers get: SP Brandon McCarthy (B)
McCarthy would be a solid #3 starter for the Brewers as they try to hold off the Reds (2.5 GB). Veras would provide the bullpen help I need. Losing Vera's wouldn't hurt the Brewers too bad as they have Manny Parra (B) and Zach Braddock (C) in AAA.

A's get: SP James Shields (A)
Rays get: C Derek Norris (B), 3B Renato Nunez (B)
Losing Norris isn't ideal, but Suzuki is still only 28 years old, and if I can sign him and Shields to long term deals it will be a risk worth taking. Shields is on the trade block set to hit free agency this offseason. With the Rays 17.5 games behind the Yankees trading Shields would be a good move

Parra and Braddock are both lefties but point taken.....im just curious....why do u always look to trade with teams that are in contention considering it seems ur fighting for a playoff spot too? lol....and regarding ur 2nd trade, what use would Nunez have with the Rays with Longo signed long-term?

You got scammed on the first trade and the second one you basically would get hung up on unless you add a couple of those top pitching prospects with Norris

Hey guys, I'm in my nats franchise and i am looking for Mike Morse. He is playing well and is my best hitter (.325 7 HR 18 RBI) but i am trying to improve upon my 30th ranked defense and Morse is the weakest link. I need an above average defender along with a good hitter.

I am in contention and i play every game so i am not looking for prospects in return.

            Any thoughts? thanks

His velcotiy is down and his stuff isn't the same, I think that Atl would easliy take that deal giving them some depth in rotation plus a long reliever and a guy who, if he gets his swing fixed, can be there future 3rd baseman after Chipper retires this year.
Remember, I'm using SCEA's rosters. So even though my prospects mirror OSFM's potential-wise, my team doesn't exactly mirror the real Yankees' depth chart wise.

For instance, I do not have a stud 3B prospect. I have a SS. But either way, I think I have enough of what they need to get a deal done.

I'm still in May, so I'm basically just say dreaming. Realistically, I'd like to snatch up Greinke if MIL stays out of contention (and yes I realize I'd have to give up much more).

Agreed on the real life Jurjjens. ATL should have traded him 1-2 years ago. In the game, he's definitely good enough to accomplish what I'm looking for (a solid 3 or 4). But it's just an idea. A lot can happen over the next month and a half.

              Thanks everyone.

Wel I'm trying to trade veterans (McCarthy stil young but is on his 6th year of service) so teams out of contention probably wouldn't be too interested in them. McCarthy I could maybe deal to a team that's out of contention (he's only 29 iirc).

And in the second deal, I would give them a different B prospect besides Nunez. I have Cowgill, Taylor, Cabrera, Alcantara, Krol, or Gray.

if ur winning and it seems like u are, why would u wanna get rid of ur veterans? and if they're stinking it up personally, why would another team want them?....and i'd be more inclined to give up Taylor then any of the other guys u mentioned even tho i rather keep Norris and get something for Suzuki

I want to trade a starting pitcher because I'm getting Shields and don't need 6 starters

If you're not going for realism, who do you have at shortstop? Because you could probably get Escobar and Colby Rasmus from the Blue Jays. It would be horridly unrealistic, but somewhat fair.

So using Knight's rosters, the Phillies put Utley on the block and are willing to trade him and Ruiz for Barney and Soto. Salary difference is 9 mil to 2 mil but I feel like I am cheating. Opinions.

yeah it's a lopsided trade in the Cubs favor

Yeah and I am playing all 162 games so I dont want to do something like that to ruin the satisfaction, but I am trying to get Stewart, and Byrd out of there so I can bring up Vitters and Jackson full time. Any ideas?
