The Angels are a really good team with great hitters and one good starting pitcher. You can't win a World Series with that.

    Weaver: 13-1, 2.26 ERA (outstanding)
Wilson: 9-7, 2.88 ERA (mediocre record, great ERA)
Haren: 8-8, 4.59 ERA (to call this mediocre is a kindness)
Williams: 6-7, 4.56 ERA (not good)
Santana: 4-10, 6.00 ERA (hide your eyes kids!)

    The Reds:

    Cueto: 13-5, 2.39 ERA
    Latos: 9-3, 4.17 ERA
    Bailey: 9-6, 3.53 ERA
    Arroyo: 6-6, 3.76 ERA
    Leake: 4-6, 4.12 ERA

Our rotation is simply better. We lost a lot of games early, but we've come on strong in the last month or so. Particularly in the last ten games. Which means we'll soon have a bald announcer. Oy vey!
Yeah let's just forget about that bum named Zach Grienke...

Get out of the dinosaur age my friend jeez you quoted wins and losses, they don't mean anything to how good a pitcher is, man you said Wilson's ERA was mediocre are you kidding, it's better than 4 pitchers on your team, and you left off Greinke. Stop being naive here, your rotation isn't that great

I can't take you seriously while you judge pitchers by wins and losses. Also, way to leave out Grienke. Your pitching is very slightly better statistically, and stats get thrown out in the playoffs. Your bats are significantly worse. Votto is injured.

If you guys don't trade (still trying) for another bat, you're done. Keep in mind, the Angels are playing in a much harder division. No, Houston won't contend for a wild card! Not within the next 4 years!

I didn't. I didn't include him because he was with Milwaukee. So his stats don't count with the Angels. He had good stats with the Brewers. But, again, those don't count.

But, again, they're going to count over the stretch run, and the playoffs, now won't they?

Oh dear lord...did you just compare W/L records of starters? W/L is the worst statistic of measuring how good or bad a pitcher is.

First off, your comparison fails because you left out Zack Greinke from the Angels as he was just TRADED from MIL to LAA (there ya go AC ) Plus, saying your rotation is better is blasphemous homerism. When the Angels have 2 pitchers with a similar WHIP and ERA to Cueto, plus Greinke and Haren (a guy who's been a consistent ace in his career and had injury struggles this season, which have probably caused some of the number discrepancies.) LAA has 3 (maybe 4) aces on their staff, while Cinci has 1.

The only W/L that matters is the team's, individual pitcher's wins and losses are meaningless in determining the skill and ability of a pitcher. A guy can be amazing for 8 innings and then have his bullpen blow his lead, or allow 1 run and lose 1-0. There's a hundred million ways a guy can lose a game despite pitching amazing.

Are you telling me that a 13-12 King Felix shouldn't have won the Cy Young a couple years ago because he sucks, since his W/L ratio is bad?

Wins and losses depend on the bats and the bullpen behind them. They don't tell anything about how good a pitcher is. Just ask Cliff Lee

His performance with the Angels is the only thing that matters now because now he's an Angel.
