Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
No clue what he'll do in mine jknott--haven't started yet. Has he ever played 2B before? Just wondering because it is listed as a secondary but I don't recall him being at the keystone--though it is a better fit with these ratings. Good hands and accurate thrower, will make the routine plays but nothing extraordinary. Not enough range for SS.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
He was average-decent hitting wise in 2011, good for a catcher...but his defense took a dive. He was projected for back-up duties so I'd say a fringe prospect player with projectability to a platoon type player or mid C.Last edited by rjackson; 07-31-2012, 09:48 PM.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
lookin to get king felix in a trade. i was able to get him for CC jurickson profar and oscar taveras but i was sort of lookin to do an all prospect trade.
would 4 A' do it?Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
If your the Yankees and you have those two prospects then I'd go with Williams, Banuelos, Taveras, Profar. This isn't very realistic but it's fair none the lessComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
yeah i figured just lower his ratings until they accept the 3 for 1 trade and then just trade the 4th A for their worst prospect.Comment

He's played all over the infield for the BoSox! I didn't know, though I liked him back when he was with Stanford...I don't follow the Red Sox, my hose are pale!Comment

FWIW, i'd probably agree 2B would be better suited for Lowrie but with Altuve occupying that position, he's kinda stuck at SS.....he's on the Astros for his bat not glove anywaySteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Trying to trade for Dexter Fowler at the trade deadline for spot starting duties. I think he is rated a bit higher than I need (B overall, A potential) and is only 26 years old.
Some more details to hopefully increase realism of this trade:
-Currently a week after the All-Star game
-COL is 13 games out of the division
-COL has needs at SP, C, 1B
-My RF (C. Beltran) is down until the start of the playoffs at earliest
-Beltran was also my cleanup hitter so I am missing a big bat
-Fowler is also hitting .328 (Career numbers) and is 2nd in the NL in BA, 3rd in Silver Slugger voting
I only have 600k left over in my budget. The only other guy that I could go after might be M. Cabrera or N. Schierholz. But not sure if they would command different prospects?
I have plenty of prospects to trade, just not sure what ratings to trade them. Also, could you mention the OVR rating I need to trade also? I have a ton of F/D ovr, A pot prospects but I am not sure if that counts as a true A rating prospect.Last edited by stlcards234; 08-01-2012, 12:09 AM.Comment

Have you considered going for CarGo instead?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Can you clarify this statement? How can I tell the difference between High/Mid/Low B's? (Sorry, relatively new to the forum.) Is this also Potential or Overall rating? Any other factors I should consider like age?
I also forgot to mention it is the second year of my chise so the rosters are pretty different for every team. I started out with the Cards and sold off a lot of my older players for young prospects my first year at the deadline.
I am not able to go after CarGo due to his price. The Rockies have glaring weaknesses at C and 1B, both of their starters are around 30 y/o D ovr, C pot. I have Rizzo and D'Arnaud in my farm system. I could give up one of them (who would become their immediate starter) along with a couple of lower rated A or high B?
I also have the deepest farm system in regards to SP. I can part with some of them too (I essentially traded a lot of my pitchers for high level SP prospects my first year. Used the money to load up on my everyday lineup guys.)Last edited by stlcards234; 08-01-2012, 02:13 AM.Comment

Go to manage roster, scroll right to potential, and then sort. All A's are not equal nor are all B's, etc. A high B could become a low A with a hot month. I hope this clears it up some.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Also, you said that a high B could become a low A.... Could you elaborate on that? Y. Molina has struggled at the plate for me this year. He batted .310+ (forgot exactly) while putting up some decent power numbers for him. (I think 8 HR, maybe 80RBI) But this year, he is batting .255 through the All Star Break with only 1-2 HR. He is showing up as a high B prospect on my list still. (I believe the roster originally had him at B also.) So he didn't regress despite his cold season.
Just pretty confused on how these High/Mid/Low potentials work. Do they also factor in age? I noticed all my "high" A's were much younger than my older guys.Comment
