Re: Those get up and yell moments...

I get those when i'm playing a close game, and in the bottom of the likely final inning, I usually pop out foul with my best clutch hitter... "GOOD F****** PITCH B****" I have a rage problem xD

But I do have good moments, game five of the championship series, Clayton Kershaw and My phenom pitcher Named Jack Stocker faced off. Rangers vs Yankees. It was a battle, in the seventh, it was 14-7, I came back to tie it in the ninth. At this point, most of the Yankee players were gone, cept Tex, Gardy, Granderson, and swish was 37 or something. So its the 14 inning, and a deep shot to right field, my right fielder picked up in the 2017 draft Justin Krauss, Who is a fielding monster with a cannon, He climbs the wall to bring it back in to keep it tied, We battle back in fourth until the 21st inning. It is 21-21 Tex is at the plate, and a runner on first, I believe the pitcher was Feliz, as they had gone to the starters, or he was a reliever, I dunno. Fastball high middle, Driven deep no doubter, walk off I was like "YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

Today I was in my Padres Franchise against the Dodgers Gm. 1 of a 3 game set at home. Bottom of the 9th with 1 out and Yonder Alonso. I worked the count and I eventually got a good long ball towards right field. RFer turned and I thought it was gonna be a double and I would win by 1 Run but nope the ball went over the Right Field Wall and I won 3-1 on a 2-run Homer by Yonder Alonso. I was like F******KKKK yEEEEAAA lol

A thread devoted to venting and bragging is the best idea I've ever heard of.

Storen coming in in the 9th, giving up a run to make it 3-2, but then striking out Goldschmidt on a 3-2 bullet with the tying run on third.

Or Storen coming in in the 14th in a one run ballgame with a runner on second and striking out Ryan Braun and somebody else to win the game.

I have a fantasy franchise and I took Storen for his laser beam of a two seamer.

My best was in MLB 10 the show. I was batting with Geo in my Cubs franchise in the 8th and he tided the game with a mammoth 2-run shot. We go to extra innings and Ryan Theriot launches a solo shot into the Wrigley baskets to win it. he had mids-70's contact and 30-something power.

When I try to turn two, and for some reason the 2B just holds onto the ball instead of throwing it. And it only happens with Altuve and nobody else (I did trade for him early in the season, and no he doesn't fake the throw. He just stands there after the transfer with his arm cocked). The worse part is that I end up giving up a big inning that I can't recover from.

I'm playing my Braves franchise, I have a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 9th @ Houston, they have a runner on 2nd with one out. I get the ground ball to short and get a good throw to 1st for out number two but rather than go back to second the runner hesitated and tried for third, looked like I had enough time to throw him out because of his hesitation and Freddie Freeman throws the ball right over Chipper's head allowing the Astros to tie the game 2-2. I would eventually lose the game in the 12th.

Re: Those get up and yell moments...

I had two yesterday, one of each variety, as I played a rare Sunday triple-header.

Playing in Detroit, I chased Verlander on five runs thru six after falling behind 3-0 in the first inning. In comes Hanrahan to close out the 5-3 lead. Single to start the inning, soon followed by a SB. Next batter grounds to SS, nearly hitting the runner, which means I had a play at 3B. I had already pre-loaded my throw to 1B and with a two-run lead, decide against the risky throw cancel to go for the lead runner. Next batter -- this is against the bottom of the Tigers order -- flies to fairly deep CF, easy sac fly for a 5-4 game. But no worries, two outs and #9 hitter Don Kelly stepping into the box. I work a 2-2 count -- getting squeezed by the ump, of course -- after a nice backdoor slider. I follow that up with a picture perfect fastball away, playing off the previous pitch... Ol' Don was having none of it, hitting a towering fly ball down the LF line. I race over with Presley, climb the wall... and miss it by inches. Tie game. Blown save.

After surviving a Pedro Alvarez throwing error in the bottom of the 10th, up comes the recently acquired Gaby Sanchez in the top 11th facing lefty Daniel Schlereth. He had a lot a confidence after striking out Alvarez and Jones with his curve. Too bad Gaby was looking for when he hung one and hit a line drive over the left CF fence. I thought it was a double off the bat, so there most definitely was some jumping out of the chair.

Honorable mention goes to Juan Cruz for closing the game out after a two-out Cabrera double and Fielder IBB. FIST PUMP

Just had one of those get up and yell and wanna break my controller type of moments.. So i traded for Alexie Oganido from Texas right.. He makes his first start with Pittsburgh for me. He had a perfect game going into the 7 and loses it. Was kinda pissed but whatever. He pitches 8 innings 2 hits and strikes out 8. winning 3-0 in the top of the 9th. I bring in my closer with a 3 run lead hoping he can close the door.. Nope he comes in walks the first guy. Base hit after base hit and i lose 4-3.. Oh boy was i mad.. Just thought i would share this with you guys.

Hitting a two-run dinger in the bottom of the 8th to go up 10-9 on the Nats. J.P. Arencibia's second of the game. I think I pretended I was the Blue Jays play-by-play guy, Buck Martinez....

Bottom of the 10th against the Padres. Game tied at 5. Bourn on second with one out. Heyward singles up the middle. Game over, right? Bourn - MICHAEL BOURN - is gunned down at the plate. And it wasn't even close. Nearly tossed the controller.

But I calmed down and did the rationale thing: stole second with Heyward then doubled with Freeman to win it.

Clutch rating on Closers (or something else within the game regarding closers) clearly needs adjusting.
I play in Manage only mode, and the closers (regardless of how great of a pitcher they are) blow saves at a rate of nearly 50 percent in the games I manage, be it my team or the A.I's team. Yet when I simulate the games, they get much more realistic numbers of saves to blown saves.

The rate for setup pitchers blowing saves is even higher, and they can be some of the best relievers with great clutch ratings there too. And again, it doesn't matter if it's my pitchers or the A.I's. The game seems to be programmed so that from time to time, your team is going to have a bad inning pitching, regardless of how many relievers you use, and regardless if you use the correct pitcher vs. batter matchups.
Yes, this does happen in reality, but not as often as it does in the games that I manage.
For this reason, my team wins only about half the games I manage, but wins about 80 percent of the games I simulate.

I was playing as Toronto against Kansas City at home just before the All-Star Break. My offense was in a major slump for a week to ten days averaging like 3 runs and not a lot of hits. Anyways I'm down 2-1 in the bottom of the ninth I have a runner on, 2 outs and a full count on EE I look inside and look for a slider and hit a walk-off, off the left field foul pole... I thought I hooked it foul but it banged off for a walk off winner.

The next game against KC it was tied at one going into the bottom of the ninth and Ryan Doumit hits a walk off no doubter to Right field to win it for me. The first time I had back to back walk off wins!

The fourth game against KC it was scoreless going into the bottom of the eleventh inning I had managed 2 hits all game long, when none other then Ryan Doumit crushes one to right to win the game! Funny thing is I had considered trading him because he wasn't hitting. He just bought himself sometime with his last couple of games!!

I have lost the first 2 games against the Yankees. The final game of the series was a battle through the end! I think I hit my season-high in HRs in a game. I hit one with Nieuwenhuis, Murphy, Hairston, Bay, Cedeño, etc. I think Gardner hit a pinch-hit HR to tie it late in the game. But here's the kicker. It was me trailing 7-6 in the 9th, had the bases loaded with 1 out, with Andrés Torres at the plate vs. Mariano. I swing at the first pitch, & it's a game-ending 4-6-3 double play! Arghhhhh. I got swept for the second time this season. Well, on to Tampa Bay.

Just had a game that I immediately thought, "this needs to be in that thread on OS."

2nd game of the year, I'm the Cubs hosting the Nats. It's a pitchers duel as Gio Gonzalez & Demoster pitched 7 scoreless innings. In the top of the 8th with 2 outs, their pinch hitter, Tracy, hits a ball to left that Soriano inexplicably dives for(auto fielding) and that leads to a triple. The next guy up hits a nubber that I can't field cleanly and the run scores. So after pitching great the whole game I'm down 1-0 & I'm pissed.

Bottom of the 8th I go in order. Nothing happens in the top of the 9th so now bottom of the 9th, Starlin Castro leads off and hits a ball to right that Werth dives for and misses, the ball rolls back to the ivy and Castro legs out an inside the park home run, my first ever in a baseball video game. LaHair is up next and he gives the ball a ride to deep center but it stops t the warning track. The next batter is Ian Stewart who takes a 2-0 pitch deep to right and ends the game on a walkoff HR!! My first walkoff and my first inside the park HR all in the same inning!

I wanted to "get up and yell" but I was playing in bed on my Vita with my wife sleeping next to me so I had to settle for a silent fist pump lol.

This isn't exactly a "get up and yell moment,'' but it was one of those cool moments that really adds to the enjoyment of this game.

Using the OS All-Time Classic rosters, playing as the Yankees in St. Louis. Babe Ruth homers with DiMaggio on base and Gehrig on-deck. Seeing Ruth get congratulated at home plate by DiMaggio and Gehrig was awesome. And I'm not even a Yankees fan.
