Had this happen fairly infrequently on '12 (like maybe once every couple of games), and I too am getting the download version this year and will be looking to see how it performs.

BTW '12 for Vita never did this last year to me (and while my copy was a physical copy, there is no optical data to be read there). It's not like a CD or Blu-Ray.

I will also sell my copy and go the digital download route if my game has a lot of stuttering. I would rather have the physical copy though.

Because he's too busy rolling in large amounts of cash due to the success of The Show. This group of devs obviously don't care about this game or the community.

That's up in the air(if it's only pre-order bonus)....

But I'm guessing that you will need around 40 GB for the install. About 20 for the game...and 20 for the install and swap...you'll get the 20 back after the game installs.

Ok...

MAY not be a large enough sample size (5-games), but after signing out of the network, turning off & locking out the in-game ticker features (closed captioning, mode updates & MLB.Com updates) in the "presentation" menu... My in-game stuttering has gone away!!!

The music seems to be skipping a note or two in-between games, but on the on-field issues are resolved here...

This may not be the answer for you guys (or me) but so far, so good ;-)

I'll be downloading it from the PSN and since I've been reading so much about this, I'll definitely be posting my feedback on the topic.

I wouldn't post anything regarding the PSN version and stutter until you have a lot of info though as I can see mass hysteria in trying to unload the disc version and getting the PSN version when it might not be justified. Since people with the disc version have reported not having the stutter someone saying there is no stutter with the PSN release could be a similar case to the disc version people not getting stutter. We need a large sample size of people to determine if the PSN release will be different than the disc version regarding this.

One thing I enjoy about your observations is the detail. Just curious, are you the same 'old guy' from LA that used to post here?

Well after starting this topic and seeing everyone's responses. Here's my results. Friday night I deleted the 10 gig install, did the rebuild database which took only a few minutes than installed the 5 gig file. At this point I was not getting any pitcher stutter at all, I did however notice when batters are introduced sometimes it would be glitchy in those cut scenes of them warming up when swinging the bat but not during actual gameplay just cut scenes. Than I read to disable the media server mode which mine was enabled, and since disabling it, everything has run so smoothly still, very happy and it's been just over 2 days and still working great where as before it was almost every game. Hope this helps everyone

Don't think so. I lurked on OS for a good while before signing up though.

Anyways... judgement day is upon us, if the game does go live at 9pm PST and the maintenance doesn't screw us over we shall see what comes of this, pitch stutter. We shall pray to the PSN gods to bless us with a stutter free game for all.

But in all honestly if the whole rebuild database stuff really has an affect, maybe the stutter is linked somehow to the data install or the HDD itself. If that is the case the PSN release might fair worse.

I've been playing a ton since thursday and have yet to see a single stutter. I've never had any problems with it in the past either. I'm still rocking a release day PS3 with a HDD of my own installed for what its worth.

It really is bit and miss so that is why it may be hard to pinpoint

Well sadly after typing my message 30 mins ago with my positive results i fired up the ps3 today and first game in my RTTS had pitching stutter on some pitches.
