Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Yeah, Bruce Chen seems like he's been around/awful forever...I remember him pitching alongside Maddux/Glavine/Smoltz in ATL. Never the best option.
If I were you, I'd stay internal. Duffy is hurt, but how about John Lamb or Will Smith?
If you don't like those options, in addition to AC's list, you could try (from most to least expensive to acquire):
Tom Milone (more like a 3-ish starter on a contender)
Patrick Corbin (I like him a lot)
Zach Britton
Clayton Richard
Travis Wood
Wade Leblanc
Chris Capuano
Erik Bedard (yuck)
You have a TON of trade chips in the bullpen and some IF/OF trade options...(Holland, Collins, Crow, Coleman, Herrera, Getz, Cain, Dyson, Giavotella, Falu), so finding the right deal should be easy. My opinion, KC is the most fun team to trade from/with because they have so few untouchables and so many valuable, young trade chips.
The royals probably wouldn't trade for a starter with so many high end guys starting to move quick through the minors. However if they felt like they needed a left handed option, they'd probably look for somebody who can eat innings at the back of the rotation... probably a crafty left hander who isn't named Bruce Chen.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I did a fantasy draft as the Padres and made my team pitching heavy. My starters are Strasburg/M. Harvey/Masterson/Edwin Jackson/A. Meyer...my bullpen is solid.
I am 4-1 but I haven't been able to score more than 3 runs in a game thus far.
So I threw some trade offers around and have this one as a possibility:
I give:
Paul Konerko
Strasburg
Jackie Bradley
I get:
Mike Trout
Ryan Howard
Brandon McCarthy
SHould I make this trade?
It's a big drop in my starter...but a big gain in offense i feel
ANy thoughts are appreciated
Trading Strasburg, deprives you of a true number one and Brandon McCarthy isn't exactly the guy you want fronting a contending rotation and Ryan Howard hasn't really hit since his injury.
Essentially, this is a really high risk-high reward trade. Will Trout's number's transfer over to PETCO? Will Ryan Howard be able to revive his hitting or will you be stuck with that contract? And who takes over at #1 for Strasburg?
In all honesty, I wouldn't try this.

It would probably be to your benefit to not pull the trigger on this one. PETCO is one of the best pitchers parks in baseball and if you can assemble a formidable rotation, it's the Pads are really tough to beat.

EDIT: Also, I don't think you're giving up enough. Strasburg is a lot, but he's coming off of TJS which lowers his value, but not to drastically (maybe even unnoticeable) but Konerko really hurts this trade as he's set to retire soon.Last edited by CameRoN0407; 04-20-2013, 10:02 PM.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Hey guys,
I've come up with a couple of trade ideas I'd like to run by you. As you know, I'm the Rockies during Spring Training.
CWS: SP John Danks (85/high B), RP Hector Santiago (83/mid C), RP Santos Rodriguez (58/mid C), RF Dayan Viciedo (86/mid A)
COL: RP Matt Belisle (84/mid B), RF Charlie Blackmon (69/mid B), C Lars Davis (54/mid C)
Here's the other trade:
St. Louis: SP Joe Kelly (77/mid B), RP Sam Freeman (63/mid C), RP Maikel Cleto (60/low C)
COL: SS Christian Adames (65/low B), 2B Angelys Nina (51/mid C)MLB 13 The Show Dynasty -- Mile High Magic Returns: A Colorado Rockies Dynasty Is BornComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I made a trade in my Royals dynasty at the beginning and I want your opinion if it was fair because I thought it was ok, but my friend thinks I cheated the AI.
I traded Billy Butler from the Royals to the Giants for SP Madison Bumgarner and 1B Brandon Belt.
I made the trade because Butler was gonna make some serious money and Bumgarner was on a decent five year contract.NFL: Packers

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Actually, the more I think about it, the less I care about how realistic it is to make a trade right before the start of the regular season. I want to stock up on the Rox pitching depth before the season begins.
I also don't need any changes on offense, so strike Viciedo from the list.
I'm looking at Danks, Santiago, and Rodriguez from CWS. I want to get rid of Belisle, so what about Belisle, Blackmon, and EY Jr. for those three pitchers? I'm not huge on EY, other than his speed, and I'd rather have Colvin on the big league squad.
Also, I was told earlier that a Chatwood for Eddie Rosario trade with Minnesota would be perfectly acceptable. So, I could trade for Rosario, then flip him along with Adames, and another prospect if need be, to St. Louis. The Rox are well below average in pitching depth, especially in the bullpen.
Like I said, I don't particularly care about the timing of the trades, I just want to make sure they're fair.
Thanks guys.MLB 13 The Show Dynasty -- Mile High Magic Returns: A Colorado Rockies Dynasty Is BornComment

I would think if it were this easy to get Bumgarner IRL, KC wouldn't have dealt Myers + Odorizzi for Shields + Davis.
Hmmm, a young ace, top 10 LH starter in baseball AND a promising young 1B prospect for a DH nearing 30 headed to an NL team. AND on top of getting by far the better end of the deal, you are dumping salary too?? Your friend was on the money here. Though ole Billy Butler is sad, he really wants to hit at Coors...Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
