Hey everyone. I haven't made any trades in my Angels franchise yet, since it's still early, but I'll definitely be trying to make some later on. I have a question though: how do you read the value spreadsheet? And what purpose does it serve?

I like Gyorko's value but Iglesias is much too high. Low B at the most but I'd be more inclined for a high C

There's that. Then there's that he's hitting .400+ right now in like 150 ABs and might be the best defensive SS since Ozzie Smith, so his value is a tough one. Most don't see his bat holding up. I say his glove gets him to a B by itself (if Freddy Galvis is a low B, that should be Iglesias' floor).

Don't like the Iglesias value. I don't like quoting BABIP over and over but come on, .476? Nah. 20% LD. Definitely not a high B by any stretch.

This is what's wrong with defensive metrics, though, apparently he's been worth -2.1 runs in the field. Lmao, okay dere, fangraphs.

This has been covered before. I'd suggest looking him up. This is not possible with any speck of realism though. His contract is way too big (why you want to get rid of him is why no one else would have him).

Cameron, I see you've sent me a PM, I'll get on that.

Are you looking for something more like the following?

1. Go to Manager Roster screen
2. Sort by Potential Column
3. You'll see that 'A' Potential players are now at the top of the screen, followed by B's, C's, etc.
4. In order to tell the difference between High, Medium, and Low for a letter grade, we will look at the OVR ratings. For instance, say the top six A Potential players have the following overalls:

88
81
76
82
65
73

The overalls will rank from high to low within each subset of the letter grade. In our above example, the top 3 players are the highest A potential players. The 82-rated player marks the beginning of the next highest category, and so on.

I believe there are either 8 or 10 subsets within each letter grade. Not every team will have guys in each subset, so be careful. Just because someone is a high B on their team doesn't mean that they actually have a high B potential.

I'd be open to it. Moving Andrus is one way to clear up a spot for Profar. Andrus has signed an extension but I don't think that's in the game right (?) so I could see it go down. Probably not a deal that would happen IRL but absolutely in a videogame like ours
