So I have a pretty bad catcher situation with J.P. Arencibia out for almost the rest of the season. I'm rolling with Thole and Blanc right now, but I'm seriously looking for someone to be able to be a stopgap before Arencibia returns. I was thinking John Buck, Nick Hundley or Saltalamacchia. Any idea on how something could work out? Willing to take suggestions as well.

So you're giving up Valdespin, Tejada, and 1 or 2 RP and you think you can get CarGo in return? lolDenver Broncos

Re: Buxton. I love the kid and he's a stud but Giancarlo straight up for him would be a deal I'd take.
I agree it's still not a fit. I wouldn't classify the Twins as buyers at this pointLast edited by nowitsourtime; 07-15-2013, 11:25 PM.Comment

We'd need stats, records, and of course, who you are willing to give up.
That's putting it mildly. AND this deal involves trading Helton, so not only the most unfair Rockies trade I've seen in this whole thread, but the least realistic. Bonus points for a multi-team proposal though.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I didn't make the trade the pieces are not final, but my thinking is that the Mets are taking on 13.5 mill for the next 5 yrs and the Rockies are clearing his and Heltons money and getting back at least 4 high b prospects/players in returnComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Also, if the Rockies and Mets are BOTH going into rebuild mode... why would the Rockies trade CarGo to the Mets? Seems more of a "win now" type of move for the Mets.
Another question. Are you going for realism at all? There would be a riot in Denver if the Rockies traded Helton in what is probably his final year. And IMO it is not very realistic to be trading CarGo in 2013.Denver Broncos

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I just got to July 1st in the first season of my Mets franchise, I'm 7 games under and looking to make a big trade. Here's my crazy idea the Mets and Rockies are out of it and the Nats and Cards lead the divisions . With that in mind the Rockies are looking to rebuild as are my Mets with the Nats and Cards looking to make their run. Most of the players are blocked by better players on their teams.
Mets get Cargo
Rockies get Matt Adams, Swaggerty, Tyler Moore and Valdespin
Nats get Helton and a RP
Cards get Ruben Tejada and a RP
>Cards are getting Ruben Tejada and a most likely crappy RP for Jordan Swaggerty and Matt Adams
>Rockies would trade Helton
>CarGo would be acquired for Adams + Swaggerty + Moore + problem child
>4 team trades pretty much never happen
Just my thoughts."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

The sad part is Buck hitting .150 would still be an upgrade from Thole's .080 batting average.Comment

If Myers and d'Arnaud weren't just traded and were on their respective teams all along, then I'd say it's a bit more "life like," but you rarely see top prospects move around that much.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I am in February in my Astros chise about to start year 3. Saying my off season has been horrible would be an under statement. Jose Altuve got 5.4M from arbitration and Jordan Lyles got 2.9M from arb.
They are too expensive for me so I want to trade them. I have two trades I want you guys to look over please:
Astros Send: Altuve (93 OVR) mid A, Jordan Lyles (88 OVR) High B
Braves send: Andrelton Simmons (89 OVR) (high B), Julio Tehran (86 OVR) High B, CP Juan Jaime (77 OVR) Low B
Trade #2
Astros send:SS Nolan Fontana 24 yrs old (67 OVR) Low A, LF Robbie Grossman 25 yrs old (78 OVR) High B, Wesley Wright 30 yrs old, (81 OVR) High C
Phillies send: Dominic Brown 27 yrs old (91 OVR) Low A
The Phillies have been rebuilding and I think these prospects could pull Dom away from Philli.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
In my A's Franchise, 4 days before the July 31st deadline and I am in 1st by 5 games. Eric Sogard has been tearing the cover off the ball, but I'd like to move Jed Lowrie to 2B and trade for Oakland-native, Jimmy Rollins. DO NOT want to give up Addison Russell, as J-Roll is probably a rent-a-player for my playoff push. Would you think one of Sonny Gray, Werner, or Straily? (PLEASE NOTE) these are with the OS Re-Rated rosters that were posted about a week ago.
Also, in the offseason I want to flip Grant Balfour (much like the A's do IRL) for a OF like Nimmo or Puello from the Mets.
Thoughts? Really enjoyed scouring through this thread.Comment

What are Simmons's and Teheran's service times? Simmons's contract?
And what were Brown's numbers the season before?Comment
