I don't see how the amount of games determines whether something is a rivalry or not
In other sports like football the Bears Play the packers twice and thats considered a rivalry
Hell I can't even recall the last time either team was good at the same time but thats irrelevant
Plenty of experts saw the Yankees seeking Soriano and there were even some rumors about phillies getting Soriano for Domonic Brown.
Soriano is 36 and the Cubs might be contending in 2015 why keep a guy that can make an impact on a currently contending team. Seems pointless IMO. But I can see what you're saying not a lot of people want marmol either

Comparing a schedule of 16 games in the nfl isn't even on the same level or comparing 8 out of 162.. In the NFL, 2 games represents a 12.5% of the entire schedule. 8 of 162, is just under 5%. On top of that, the bears vs packers is a divisional rivalry, where the Sox vs Cubs "rivalry" is not a divisional, nor league rivalry. It really only matters to one city.. Bears vs Packers can also be represented as an Illinois vs Wisconsin state rivalry, since they are border states to each other

The Yankees won't go after him since they've got Wells, and the Phillies aren't gonna give up a young Dominic Brown for the 36 yr old soriano. I doubt Philly wants to get even older than what they already are since they are the Yankees of the NL.. If anyone goes after soriano, it will be before the deadline and to a team that's close to contending, ala Baltimore..

Im saying the exact opposite. The bears packers rivalry is really only a rivalry because of the age of both clubs. The rivalry itself is very uneventful
There are rumors that suggested otherwise and I personally would believe a rumor published by a journalist over the assumption of a poster on a forum

I like him as well. However I see the Cubs giving Jackson a minimum of 2 months. If someone goes down lets say in the next month I doubt we would see him. Would be Sweeney/Bogusevic/McDonald I assume.

It's not a rivalry when interleague play has only been going on since 1997..where as the Bears vs Packers rivalry has been going on since 1921, with the Bears owning the h2h record of 92-88-6.. I'm not sure where you live but to say that the bears pack rivalry is uneventful couldn't be further from the truth. Really the only thing eventful about the sox-cubs was Michael Barrett punching out AJ Pierzynski! Before 97, the sox were 10-0-2 in the charity game they played. Other than that, the owners had the rivalry, not the teams since they only played once, in the 1906 World Series which the Sox won 4-2...

And with the journalism thing, anyone online can be called a "journalist." And I looked online, and nowhere was anyone saying Philly or the yanks.. Just you

Now that the roster is out any takes on the Cubs?

Any changes you think should be made? Stances, positions, ratings, whatever.

I did notice Baez got toned down to a 64. Ridin said that they'll look into him and adjust.

Edit: someone noticed I left Fujikawa with a 0 SCV. I changed the order of his pitches and his movement at the last minute after asking Seanjeezy. He interpreted his pitch f/x data better I would assume so I used his movements, but I guess I forgot to change his SCV. His overall remained an 81 after I put in Jeezy's edits so I didn't notice his SCV was a 0.

Anyways it should be

SCV 73.5 MPH 71 movement, control in line with his other pitches so in the 40-44 range should be good. This does raise him to an 82 overall to those who thought he was a bit low, only 1 pt though.

Looks like they may have nerfed Junior Lakes Arm Strength as well. It's currently at a 68. Right now Josh Vitters & Christian Villanueva have stronger arms, and Ian Stewart & Jeimer Candelario are only slightly behind Lake in that dept. Was this intended? If not, what do you think a good rating would be? Mid-to-high 80's?

I'm assuming they knocked Baez down because he was becoming too good too quickly? Just a guess.

I noticed the Fujikawa issue late last night as well, thanks for posting the ratings for the SCV.

Almora is an A potential player I would say.

Now that the rosters are out, anyone made any good trades to build up the system? Turns out the Orioles will trade away machado, bundy, and gausman for Garza and a random prospect.

I have to agree with you on this. Bears Packers is by far a better and more "eventful" rivalry that Cubs/Sox. I hate the Cubs/Sox games, they do nothing for me and I am thankful the number of games got cut down. The whole iterleague play has run it's course an I'm not excited at all by it, but now we are forced to have it with the realignment.

Couldn't agree more. I just want to make some moves and am hoping that it opens up a bit as the season progresses.
