High Heat's sliders (Operation Sports on Sportsconnect) has good variety of hits but the ball just doesn't seem to leave the bat with any velocity (tons of putouts by the ss and the pitcher). I dunno.

I played default the other night(ps3 version) with the Braves in Franchise mode and I thought the game played pretty well. Smoltz had 6 k's , Chipper and Francour had a homer and Dotel go the save in the 9th. What is the main reason for all the sliders, anyway?

What is the main issue with default sliders on HOF? I only played one game with these sliders but I guess the hit totals were a bit high... I dunno. Just looking for input as I get bored with slider adjustments and feel like I'm not spending enough time playing and enjoying a great game like the Show..Any input is appreciated. Anyway, I guess I will just stick with Nemesis HOF until new game comes out. We appreciate all your feedback on the sliders discussion. That's cool u spend the time to make the game better.
The singles up the middle is an inherent problem with the game that hopefully will be corrected for 08. At default on HOF the show plays decent game of baseball but not where I want it to be. These sliders are slanted against the human player to up the challenge so to speak. They may not work for everyone. In order to evaluate things properly you need to play many games to see the true value of the sliders. The game of baseball is so dynamic that games that fall out of the norm with the regards to stats are to be expected.

      Hi Nemesis
Yes I notice that so I might call my own game .
I do notice alot of singles but im probably not working the counts , as I struck out 7 times with papi and Manny lol.

If you click on the sliders, sometimes in the description it will tell you what difficulty level they were tailored for.

          Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis)

          Hey,

I've been playing this game quite a bit lately (probably about 30-35 games in the past 3 weeks or so), and the one thing I can't do for the life of me is get the CPU to score runs. I think there's been three times out of the 35 games where they've scored 7+, and probably only 5-7 where they've scored more than 5. I currently have CPU contact at 5 and CPU power at 12, and they still don't score. Also when they do, its usually on the HR. Do you have any advice on other adjustments I can make? I play on classic pitching and have the sliders on a generally challenging level.

I must say my offensive stats are almost perfect though. I play with contact on 0 and power on 12 and its awesome. Thanks!

Oh, I should also note that when I bump those CPU sliders any higher they hit 3/4 HR's a game, which is unrealistic as well.

Edit #2: Here's the boxscore from my last game which is more or less a prime example of what I'm talking about.

          TOR: 5-6-0
          MIN: 1-10-0

2B: Tor - None, Min - Span, Mauer
          3B: Tor - Rios, Min - None
HR: Tor - Rolen, Min - Mauer
          BB: Tor - 4, Min - 0
          K: Tor - 6, Min - 4

So really, the stats look OK (except I didn't walk anyone, but I had Litsch on the mound who generally doesn't walk many at all). But they just can't score. Are there any secondary things I need to raise maybe?

Where do you have the cpu running aggressiveness at? Unfortunately I think it is a double edge sword. It needs to be toned down to stop the cpu from running on plays were they should stay at the bag but I think it holds them up at times from scoring too. If the hits are there they should be scoring. Try upping that a little to see if this improves.

Heh funny thing, i actually did that after i posted last night. I found that it really increased doubles. I also set fielder speed to 0 which allows for a more realistic total of extra basehits and even bloop singles. Thanks!

You will see the hits now! I slowed the cpu runners down because they were running themselves out of innings on some poor decisions.

Played a game against the Yanks and lost 6-2. They hit three homers, but thats expected when Burnett can't control his curveball. Now I just need to figure out how to get the CPU to strike out more.

Yup. That affects both the human and CPU fielders.

Although I may push it up to 1 or 2...I think I'm seeing a few balls that could be caught in the OF that are dropping. Still you don't see guys running down balls in the gaps and you actually see balls go over fielders heads.

Also Nemesis, does Plate Awareness affect both the CPU and human players, or just human? If so I'll probably lower that a touch to attempt to increase strikeouts on both sides.

The fielder speed slider is a human controlled slider. It does not have anything to do with the cpu. The only thing you can adjust for the cpu is the reaction time slider.

                        Plate awareness is human only!

Yeah I think it is. Ah well.

Also, does Manager Hook ever even do anything? I've had it set on 0 for awhile and I've still never seen a pitcher go into the 9th. And there's been pitchers who give up no hits through six, allow two runners in the 7th and get pulled. Constantly. Also I think managers pull pitchers about 20 pitches too early lol. I hope that's fixed this year.

Thats funny, I have had a few pitchers go into the ninth who were cruising along and I have it set to +5. I think a lot of it has to do with energy level.

So Nemesis, are you still running with the Fielder Speed slider at -2? I see that you had Manager Hook at +3 in the set you forwarded for me but then you just mentioned that you have this at +5 now, are there anyother sliders you have since changed that would improve my overall experience with this game? On a side note, you mentioned trying hitting for the user at -10/+3, how did that work out for you? Were there too many homeruns? Lastly, what are you running with at Batter Plate Discipline? I see 2 options from +5 to -1, I want some strikeouts but I dont want good hitters flailing at junk in the dirt constantly so I was curious what you were running with here. Sorry for so many questions, just wanted to avoid spending a ton of time messing with sliders so I figured I would pick your brain a little.
