I don't know if this has been answered before, but do we know if there will be any additional sliders in 2008?

Yes there will be but do not know exactly what they are.

Nem- I just got a new 1080p TV, so I am going to play the crap out of some MLB this weekend. My question is, I feel like I am starting to become a little too dominate with pitching. I play with all your sliders(the one's posted on Sportsconnect) and absolutely love them. I have API off, meter pitching. I can't tell if it's the cpu plate discipline that needs upping, or do I need to switch to classic? I just feel like I am striking out the CPU way too much, a LOT of called strike 3's but not enough "swinging at bad pitches". I dunno. Let me know if this something you ran into, when u started "mastering" pitching, and what u did to keep the sliders honest. Thanks.

nemesis I love these sliders, but i have a concern

With them ive won 5 straight games to open up my Diamondbacks season, and the last game i held the nationals to one run on four hits

Is this normal or should i think about cranking the sliders down from the "more offense" settings for me?

For what it's worth, I've always had huge success pitching although it took me a while to get the hang of the strikeout. Interesting perspective because I still struggle with hitting consistently so it's not like I've just mastered pitching or anything.

Yeah, drop it down for you and raise the cpu also.

Drop the cpu plate discipline down to -1. The cpu will swing more but just be conscious of your pitch counts because with the cpu swinging more your counts could go down some. I would try this first, if it is still too easy then you should make the move to classic.

Also, which view do you use for pitching?

                    Nemesis,

You said that you were checking on a couple things? Did you come up with any tweaks that can make the game even more enjoyable? I.E user field speed, user hitting, cpu plate discipline.

I like the cpu hook at +10. The cpu manages it's bullpen slightly better that way.

Pitcher view. If I switch 2 classic, I just need to change pitch command and pitch break, correct? I know I have less "control" but it gives more of a sim setting for pitcher's actual skills, correct? Are there any tweaks u have done, since u posted on sportsconnect? Thanks.

                        Nickeapi,

If you are using Nemesis' sliders on mvp level here is what you need to change for classic pitching instead of the meter. I'm with you by the way. After awhile you just become too dominate once you learn where to spot your pitches, hitting the sweet spot on the meter is relatively easy.

Here ya go, pitch movement +1, pitch control +2 wild pitch - 3
pass ball -4. The bad part about classic (if you are using Knights rosters...which you better be) is he lowered the command attributes of all the pitchers with the meter in mind. So you will walk a ton of guys even if you aim right down the middle. It all depends on the pitchers stamina and confidence in a particular pitch.

well, the next game John Patterson held me to four hits and no runs and they won 4-0 and had ten hits so i think im fine for now. If its starts getting too easy ill change it

May continues to suck for me or i suck in the month of May. for over seven innings i got one hit by Jeremy Sowers of the indians. lost the game 1-0 i had 3 hits and they had 5. i struck out none and they struck me out 6 times. Of course how do i end the game as it seems i have a bad tendency to do? yea you guessed it i left the bases loaded with Justin Morneau popping up on a 2-2 pitch to short to end the game... defense was the golden ticket in this one as both teams turned some outstanding plays...

once again bravo to the slider master of hall of fame... Nemesis for making my life a living HELL!!!! LOL just kidding...

Playing PS3 off your sliders, Nemesis. I'm liking my pitching versus CPU hitting results.

But I'm not liking my own hitting. I think I suck. I have my Contact at -6 and Power at +2 (the max you recommend). My Plate Awareness is at +6, also the max you recommend.

I think I'm gonna nail the ball, and I hit pop-ups WAY too often. Weak taps, pop ups, lazy fly balls ... lots of them. And never, never, never a shot into a gap for a double or triple. I played for three hours last night, and never hit a gapper. Several homers, though.

Opinions? Is this a slider issues? Or a sucking issue? I have trouble reacting to pitches, and moving the left stick to the ball (which is why I have Pitch Speed at -8). When you guys line up the left stick to hit, are you moving the stick a little? A lot? Do you try to hit 'under' the ball? Right on it?

Hey, I just thought of this... does the Pitch Speed setting affect the speed of the ball off the bat?
