As an eventual solution, you will need to devise a strategy in your hitting where you can play at the higher skill levels. I know this may not seem helpful at the moment, but I think you are going to have a difficult time finding a balance at the rookie level. Read up about hitting strategies here on this board or start a thread asking people about their approaches. I like to guess on the fastball on every pitch and guess on the location that the hitter is hot in until I have two strikes, then I generally guess on the outside part of the plate.

Word of advice, when you are behind in the count (2 strikes and less than 3 balls) you get a pitch outside of the strike zone most, not all, of the time.

    Good luck!
Huh? Did you post this in the wrong thread? This is a manage-only discussion.
    It's only a video game.

Hey guys, I am curious about something. I do the daily transactions from strut but was wanting to know if you can edit a player during your franchise? Reason I ask is I play with the Rays and we face the Yanks a lot. So once Joba goes into starting rotation can I adjust his stamina? Right now it is really low. Anyway around this? Thanks.

Yep...you can edit him or any player at any time during the franchise.
I've changed him to a SP...gave him a 78 stamina rating and slightly decreased his effectiveness on each pitch(so far...he's not keeping up the dominance he had as a setup guy)

Played opening day of my Nationals franchise with MOM. Hudson dominated us, with the exception of Kearns - who went 3 for 3 off of Hudson. We lost 2-1, but it was down to the wire. Belliard hit a lead off double in the bottom of the 9th after pinch hitting for Guzman. He just missed a HR by about a foot. Then Zimmerman, Johnson, and Kearns all struck out to end the game.

              I had a blast though.

Nice grismosw, keep us posted! This is my first year doing MoM and I absolutely love it. 38 games in with the Rays 19-19 2.5 GB of the yanks. I was 10-16 so i got the boys playin better (for now at least). Yanks coming to the Trop for a big 4 game series next! I know its early but still I WILL FINISH MY FIRST EVER 162 GAME SEASON WITH NO SIMMING OR FASTFORWARDING. Sorry for the caps just had to remind myself that i can do it!

42 games downs, 120 to go.

With the lost of Victor Martinez, Travis Hafner and Jake Westbrook I've been having a hard time .
I am now 20-22, 4.5 games back of the White Sox.

On the bright side, I called up Wes Hodges from AA, in 12 games he is hitting .305 with 3 HR's and 12 Rbis' (he took over as my regular third basemen).

I'll post my stats after my 50th game.

I guess you have had more time then me to play lately bullpen, lucky you, ha. White Sox are tough in this game, they swept me in Tampa only time I played em. I could not get Konerko out! Gotta love calling guys up from the minors when they produce. Longoria struggled for me for a while, but last series against the Angels he had 3 HR and 7 RBI. Look forward to your stats, i'll post after 50 as well. 124 left, piece o' cake

tgreer, yes I have had more available times lately, the weather is awfull here (I'm in Montreal)...

I am now playing the White Sox 6 times in my next 9 games...

By the way, with Wang being out for at least 6 weeks, here's your chance to catch up with the Yankees.

Almost 1/3 done bud, nice! We can do this!! I gotta be honest, every time I read this board, I just have to go play (not that I need any motivation, still love every game) I just enjoy reading others stats, thoughts, etc. Yes I agree we should start a new thread, theres been several great games that I wanted to post about after they were done, but didnt want to clog up this thread. So I will start one called MOM Franchise Talk and put it in the main forum. Ill post it now, cmon in fellas. Lets hear how your teams doing!

Anybody have any updated sliders for MoM?

Something i have done to make the OF throws more realistic: I increased THROW STRENGTH and decreased OF THROW SPEED. by doing this the outfielders don't always throw ropes to the bases and they don't always hit the relay man. The other day i was playing against Detroit and Magglio threw a rainbow to third. I may need to increase THROW SPEED!
