I did notice one thing and this is happening with not just me but others here as well. Players are getting tired too quickly. A coach asked for a day off for shortstop Alex Gonzalez after only four games!

Yep, this has been a source of frustration for me as well. And to make matters worse, the devs originally hinted that they didn't feel anything was wrong with position fatigue and said they "haven't been able to reproduce this phenomenon". Who are they kidding? What game are they playing? Anyway, Kolbe finally said they found some sort of bug that may have been causing this. But it all sounds like a 'maybe' to me.

As far as testing, you can probably stop..unless you really want to keep going. Someone else suggested in another thread that they think the "lack of CPU hits" problem seems to only affect people playing on the PS3. Not too many people have reported this on the PS2. So it's up to you.
      It's only a video game.

Re: CPU vs. CPU (and MOM) discussion

I'm getting pretty good results with my Tigers in MOM mode. I'm about 23 games in; I can post the statistics here if anyone is interested...

I'm getting the opposite problem others are getting, my team being too good. Specifically too much offense from my Tigers but the opponents are scoring at a correct pace... Tigers schedule is relatively easy in April [White Sox, Twins, Royals, Rangers, Blue Jays, etc. so far] so I'm not too alarmed by the Tigers offense which should be awfully good in real life....

I have made quite a few drastic changes to the sliders to get more accurate gameplay/ stastistics. Most of them involving the pitchers ability to throw strikes so I can see realistic walk rates...

With my changes I now see hitters draw [and pitchers throw] more than a walk a game. Now I see about 3 on the norm and I may even go in and adjust for even more walks.

Did you try the sliders that you used last year with MLB 07? If you did, what were the results?

Completed my first MOM game tonight (I have played several stints of 3 innings here, 3 innings there with different teams and different ballparks). It was Yanks @ Sox with Wang and Wakefield.

I haven't touched one slider or adjusted anything (in fact, I'm not even sure where you can adjust the difficulty). I managed the Sox and won 8-1 with a line score like this:

            NYY 1 5 0
            BOS 8 13 0

The Sox had 6 extra base hits including 3 doubles and 3 HR. I have played about 25 innings of MOM so far and I am not seeing a lack of offense or extra base hits. Also, for you guys who are trying to bump up the pitch count, why? I have yet to see a starter who can get through the 5th with less than 90+ pitches. In this game alone the Sox walked 8 times and the Yanks walked 6. I am thinking this game plays pretty darn well on default...

The Sox and Yanks are two of the most patient clubs in the game. The players will work for a walk and wait for their pitch. That's a good reason why you don't see pitchers going to deep into the game.

What game system are you MOMing on and what is the level of play (veteran/all-star/etc.)?

It's not really helpful to say you aren't seeing offensive problems when you played with two of the most potent offensive teams in baseball. In the 3 games I played against NY and BOS, I didn't see them having offensive troubles either. It's everyone else. Those two teams are two of the most highly rated in the game, so I wouldn't say that's a good barometer.

Besides, the Yankees only managed one run on 5 hits. That's typical to what I see EVERY game from other teams. And for the Yankees, I'd say that's a "lack of offense" no matter who the pitcher was.

Maybe I should clarify...this was the first game I had finished. I have been playing several MOM games, but usually quit around the 4-6th innings and try different teams in different parks. I have played Braves, Mets, Red Sox, Yanks, Tigers, Padres, Dodgers to name a few...in each of these games, I have yet to see the offense not score. I'm not saying that my sample is conclusive, but I'm just not getting the feeling from the time I've spent with the game that the offenses are inept.

No prob. I'm glad you aren't seeing the same things some of us are. For me, it's making me not really want to play the game, especially after discovering what a good game Uncharted is. I haven't played The Show in over 10 days.

I've seen the same things as you. While controlling the Angels, Padres and White Sox vs. various teams.

I hear that...it's a little tough to play the Show for any extended period now that we know a patch is in the works. I'm still playing rivalry games and such, but I'll probably wait to start a franchise now.

In the meantime, my life is slowly being consumed by Hot Shots Golf - and it doesn't need a patch.

That's pretty much exactly how I feel. With Knight's rosters coming along slowly and knowing a patch will be coming sometime down the road, I've lost almost all desire to play this game for the time being. Trying to sit through these mundane, low scoring Spring Training games is no longer entertaining, and starting a Franchise at this time seems pointless.

I am happy with mom and the ps2 now. Stats have kinda even out a little. In fact when you look at it, the astros are not a good team middle of nl central pack and they play like it in mom on the ps2

Yeah, PS2 users do not seem to be having this "lack of offense" problem. It seems only PS3 users are having problems, but not all of them.

Completed another game tonight...Mariners at Royals (me). I lost 6-3 as they had King Felix on the hill and I had Jorge De LeRosa. I also was able to find the spot to see my difficulty level and I've had it at veteran this whole time.
