Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Yeah I love these too. Everything looks great for me excepts for the fact that I have trouble getting around on inside pitching to pull. If I start trying too often I'm flayling at a curveball and the announcer makes fun of me ha.
This is especially difficult when playing somebody like Oswalt, who I agree is very tough.
Funny thing is, I'm messing around with the Cubs and Tigers and I can hit with the Tigers and draw walks but the Cubs are a total disaster on many levels.@MikeLowe47 | YouTube | Discord

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Nem,
Love the sliders. I pitch from outfield view. I like to use hot zones, strike zones, and ball marker set to fade. Using those aids allows me to dominate the cpu sometimes. Any suggestions on CPU HQ and Power settings with all the aids turned on? I love the hit variety these sliders provide and would hate to lose that by screwing with the sliders too much. Thanks in advance for the help.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Just checking in...
These sliders are working well for me in my season. I had to lower PITCH SPEED to -5 so I could pull the ball more and work counts. Walks are there if you allow them to be. I once walked 8 times in one game against the Royals (and I still lost that game)! Doubles are there, too...I had as many as 5 in one game once. My home runs are right on par (using the Yankees). I think I have something like 12 in 16 games. My batting average hovers around .260-.270 and my ERA is a tad high (in the 5's). That is thanks to a shaky bullpen. I've actually sent down Bruney, Hawkins, and Traber and brought up Alabadejo, Ramirez, and Veras. The results have been better after a couple games.
My only gripe was I gave up way too many homers and hits. I think I was at 22 homers allowed through 11 games. So, I changed CPU contact and power to default (since the patch I feel it plays very realistic at default). Now through 16 games, I'm somewhere around 27-28 HR allowed, so I'm still serving up about one per game on average.
Anyway, I'm having a fun season. I started out 5-0, but have gone 2-9 in my last 11 and now sit at 7-9. I've seen two injuries so far. Wang had soreness before a start and had to use a spot-starter in his place. In another game, Mussina had to leave after 4.2 innings. Neither pitcher missed any time, though.
I am not seeing any errors by me. Which is weird because I played several "test" games with these exact sliders and always saw almost an error per game. I'm just chalking it up to a hot stretch by my defense. I'm having a hard enough time winning as it is...I don't need errors at this moment to make it harder.
Overall, great sliders, Nem!Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
As for the aids, I play with strike zone off, hot/cold zones off, API on, Outfield pitch camera, Pitch ball marker off, and I have had games ranging from a 14-10 win to a 2-0 loss. I'm 9-5 since changing to these sliders. Having the ball marker off means I miss my spots quite a bit. I have found even with pitch command at -10, if I can see where i'm aiming, I can still pinpoint my pitches most of the time, which leads to shutting down the offense. With the ball marker off, my pitching is much more erratic and leads to more walks and more hits/HRs given up, which is a good thing.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
I have CPU power at +3 and HQ at -1. That's what it says in post 562 in your sig. Have you changed it since then, or did you mean to change the power to +1 rather than leave it there? I actually felt like I wasn't giving up enough homers even at +3 power, but I think I just hadn't played the good teams yet, because I gave up 5 homers in 1 game to the Angels, and both Prince and Pujols scare the crap out of me at the plate now, which they should.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
He didn't change anything. The +4 HQ +1 PWR was in direct relation to my question. I pitch from the outfield view but like to keep the strike zone on and ball marker aid on fade. I asked him to provide some advice on cpu hit settings given my preferences because I was shutting the CPU offense down. For what it's worth, I'm having much better games with Nem's suggestions. I did turn strike zone off but left ball marker to fade. I don't like not having a clue where I'm going to throw. Have had some great games.Comment
