it shouldn't have an adverse affect on averages......you will now get hits on slow rollers or bloopers that may have been a laser that gets caught before.

I have been getting good hit totals in games so far and nobody has really had problems getting hits
So you are currently using solid hits at 2 and contact, timing and power at 5? Do you think there will be any adjustments to these sliders (for either human or cpu) prior to opening day?

As far as cpu pitching sliders - I am currently using control 5, consistency 4 and frequency 3. Any thoughts compared to your sliders? THanks

Just tried these for the first time. Playing as the Giants I lost 3-2 to the Marlins. I gave up a go ahead balk in the 9th, ouch.

Had a little trouble on offense, but going to keep testing for a more useful understanding.

I'm using the sliders that are on page #1 - I'm sure there will be adjustments but right now Psycho and I are both pretty happy with where these are at.

CPU Pitching - Are you getting enough balls with Strike Freq. at 3? How many walks do you draw a game?

I'm enjoying these sliders so far and hitting is fine with me, however I really feel I'm giving up way too many hits and homers. It's at least 2 homers a game. I don't mind that in general but when there are ace matchups like Jimenez v lincecum I do think there are too many. It might be that my pitching just sucks.

Should I reduce power for both me and the CPU? Or maybe take pitching down to veteran?

          Great job again this year.

Thanks for your responses so far. To be honest I haven't really paid too much attention to walks and balls yet, as I'm really trying to nail down my hitting sliders before I start my "official" season with the Yankees - although I understand that balls and walks are related to hits. However when I do check strike freq. is usually aroung 65% which isn't too bad. I attribute me getting few walks to me chasing bad pitches more than sliders at this point. I had consistemcy at 4 but I was batting against Bronson Arroyo and he had 3 passed balls after 6 innings so I moved it up to 4.

I played a part of a game with solid hits at 2 and seemed okay. I hit a ton of flyballs, very few grounders - several flyballs were caught on the warning track that would have likely been homers without slider adjustments. Are you noticing a lot of flyballs this year? I am trying your hitting sliders for a few games to see what happens - but I did see more hit variety wirg solid hits at 2. Thanks again

Tnk/PB, do you guys play with strike zone on or off? From what I've read, having it off, also turns off the hot/cold zones. Just curious how you two roll.

I've played two games today and I lost both.

First, the Athletics beat me 3-1 (I was Tampa). I got 2 hits..

Then I was the Red Sox against the Angels.
Things were going good as I had a 5-2 lead after 7 innings.
The Angels then scored 3 in the 8th and another 3 in the 9th. The game ended on a great diving catch by Wells with the tying run on deck.

Two games and two losses, but boy do I love this game.

Always off for me, and yes it does mean hot/cold zones arent in effect.

Played with this set of sliders last night. My personal adjustments were timing hitting and auto base running (for whatever reason I cannot grasp baserunning...oh well).

White Sox vs. Blue Jays, Jackson vs. Rzepczynski. Pretty tight game all along. Hit back-to-back solo homers with Beckham and Rios in the third inning (contact swing with Beckham on 3-2 count, and power swing with Rios in a 2-0 count). Next inning got a triple with KONERKO (of all people!) when the center fielder misjudged a direct line drive to him trying to dive for it. Quentin was able to single him in, and that would be all the runs I'd get this game.

As far as Jackson went, I managed 5K along with 4BB working 6.1 innings. The bullpen took care of the rest.

I ended up with 3 runs on 10 hits, 0 errors.
The Blue Jays managed 0 runs on 7 hits, 0 errors.

I struck out 9 times and managed one walk, but I know I can do better as I'm still trying to find "the" perfect hitting camera for myself.

Overall these sliders play wonderfully IMO! Last night's game was the first game I've played where I wasn't left scratching my head thinking "Oh c'mon! That would've never happened in real life!" I'm not touching these sliders at all for another 5 games as I'll play with various teams.

Thank you, TNK and PsychoBulk, for the work putting these sliders together! Much appreciated!

good sliders except WAYYYYYYY too many cpu homers still. 3-4 a game. some games 3-4 is fine but not every game. i thought ok maybe i justs tink at pitching but I have read the same complaints on a few boards.

i put cpu power to 3 and will see how that goes

You need to piptch better.....bottom line.

Throw some balls.....don't be scared to walk a batter....stick with the corners even if it's a 3-0 or 2-1 count. Mix it up your pitches and location better, set guys up, etc.

Stick with it and get better - don't just tweak CPU Power down, pitch better....stick with it

                          Bingo!
It's such a simple solution but so many of us forget about it.

                            Absolutely.

Im giving up around 1.2 homers game on average, pretty realistic clip.

Its the same when people say they dont walk enough...then stop swinging at crap in the dirt, show patience; when people say they dont issue enough walks...then throw more balls, dont give in on 3 ball counts, still try and paint.

Theres only so much sliders can do.

                              Well said.
The one thing I really notice about the Show is I can actually feel myself geting better.
If I have a rough inning on the mound I can do what is necessary to fix it by hitting my spots more and moving my pitches around.
When hitting I can actually feel myself getting more adjusted to offspeed stuff out of the zone.
In 3 games I went from 21 Ks to 15 the next game and 11 the 3rd.
Still not great but I am making better contact as I am recognizing the different pitches a lot better now than I was 2 days ago.
Still can't layoff that high fastball up around my head but that'll come in time too.
