Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Had my best game.
All I did was move the view from catcher 3 to catcher and I picked up the ball a lot easier. A couple doubles and 2 home-runs. Lost 5-6 but still gave me some confidence. I suggest others struggling with these sliders to tryout that view.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Just finished up a series using the Braves against the Nats using timing only hitting and classic pitching. I Had very good offensive number hitting .325, 5 home runs, 20 runs. Pitching for both sides was a bit rough, I had an ERA of 4.55 while the Nats had around a 4.95 ERA. There was one game where it was a pitchers duel almost the whole game til the late innings where both teams bats came alive. I recommend giving timing only a try again, seems something was tweaked with the patch.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
I am really digging these sliders with Zone hitting... Just played a nice game with the Rockies against Matt Cain and the Giants... Sure I lost and only managed 2 runs and 6 hits off Cain but I figured that's not bad against a pitcher like Cain... I'm just glad every game it like the 13-8 game I had a few days ago... Just loving these sliders...
PS... Franchise question for everyone... Do you guys follow along with the real life MLB transactions and make those changes in "your" franchise? I've been deciding if I want to do this or not... It seems like a lot of work to do it every single day!!Milwaukee Brewers | Green Bay Packers | North Carolina Tar Heels | Wisconsin BadgersComment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
you can just drop CPU timing down a notch. this should give you some more blow throughs/swing throughs when you just gas a easy fastball down the pipe and high.
For me i was thinking about doing this when both Human and CPU contact was offered at 5, and timing was at H-5, C-5. I was starting to tweak mine to Human contact from 5 to 6, CPU contact remaining at 5, because my check swings weren't working for me as well as last yr,
and I felt while playing with timing batting mode that H timing=5 made me have to be too perfect on pressing the x button just right.
So I was going to then do human timing from 5 to 6. Last yr I had it at 6 anyway.
Then I noticed the set increased contact for both human and cpu to 6. i didnt think cpu needed to go to 6...it was okay for me for the cpu to be at 5, but i made it so any way... but i'm going to drop cpu timing down a notch for myself sort of to counter the cpu contact increase from 5 to 6.
i could also drop both human and cpu power from 4 to 3, i think.
i play veteran hitting and pitching, zone hitting, classic pitching.Comment

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
Due to the wind being "fixed" in the new patch...
...having it at 3 was meaning all games were very calm, it therefore makes sense to go back to default on wind.
With that tweak in mind as the only change, here is the latest set...
(change in bold)
Human Contact - 6
Human Power - 4
Human Timing - 5
Human Foul Frequency - 5
Human Solid Hits - 2
Human Starter Stamina - 5
Human Reliever Stamina - 2
Human Pitcher Control - 5
Human Pitcher Consistency - 6
CPU Contact - 6
CPU Power - 4
CPU Timing - 5
CPU Foul Frequency - 5
CPU Solid Hits - 2
CPU Starter Stamina - 5
CPU Reliever Stamina - 2
CPU Pitcher Control - 5
CPU Pitcher Consistency - 6
CPU Strike Frequency - 1
CPU Manager Hook - 5
CPU Pickoffs - 5
Pitch Speed - 4
Fielding Errors - 7
Throwing Errors - 5
Fielder Run Speed - 2
Fielder Reaction - 5
Fielder Arm Strength - 3
Baserunner Speed - 4
Baserunner Steal Ability - 4
Baserunner Steal Frequency - 5
Wind - 5
Injury Frequency - 6
Thanks

p.s. TNK will edit the first post of the thread to reflect this change when hes back from his break.

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
They went back to 3 after that post you quoted.
Took the advice and finally moved to HoF for pitching for the last 2 games and San Diego was still garbage hitting 10/64, 2 Doubles, 1 Triple and scoring a combined 4 runs in those 2 games, small sample size and the Padres offense sucks so Im sure things will become tougher once I get through this series.
As for my hitting, I went with 5/5/6 for Contact/Power/Timing and while Im actually able to hit it out when a hanger is left over the plate Im still struggling to hit for average as Im hitting 0.208 since the switch which is actually slightly worse then I was hitting before the slider change. Im half tempted to raise contact back up but will give it more time to see how it works first.Last edited by The Chef; 05-07-2011, 06:03 PM.Comment

10 games played...I know its not a lot but I figured I'd give my input as always. I finally won my first game and it was sweeeet! I apologize for getting so pissy but it's great when its *harder* to win than having buddies of mine who play on easy and telling me the game is a joke...
Anyways...
Not seeing many doubles & triples on either side. 1-2 doubles per game total.
Home Runs seem right on track with 1-2 total.
I think fielder reaction needs to be dropped 1...I have a lot of line drives that should be singles that the CPU seems to catch out of nowhere and I do the same to them.
Basically that's it. If these were my sliders...I would up the wind effects 1 and down fielder reaction 1.

TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE
Game #9 of the Season
The Red Sox pull of the come from behind victory in the 10th inning off Mariano Rivera. The game was 3-3 after 9 innings before the Yankees took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 10th inning on a sac fly by Mark Teixeira that scored Brett Gardiner who got on with a leadoff walk, stole 2nd and was bunted over to 3rd base. Rivera came on and the Sox were down to their last out in the 10th inning when Scutaro hit a wall ball double to LF. Carl Crawford tied the game 4-4 with an RBI single to RF to score Scutaro. Crawford then stole second base and Dustin Pedroia blooped a osft liner into CF to bring home Crawford with the winning run to give Boston the 5-4 win and send Fenway Park into a frenzy.

Re: TNK & PsychoBulk ***The Perfect Slider Set 2011 Edition***
I too have noticed it, I will hit a ball into the gap that should either drop for a hit or be a tough play for the fielder and instead the fielder gets there with so much time that he has to slow down or he will over run the ball. You think its reaction or fielder speed?
But, the CPU is always a "step" ahead of the user in reaction speed...
That being said I really don't know but it frustrates me when I nail a line drive and the left fielder snags it from his shoe tops all the time.Comment
