That's what McGwire asked Canseco in the late 80's, lol

All joking aside, I've noticed since I moved to zone hitting from timing and NOT moving the hitting circle I've been bombing away at the plate.

Ditto, its due to the PCI staying central so if you wait to lock in on a bad pitch you are getting good wood on the ball.

I have 24 homers in 26 games, but i find they come in bunches, sometimes none for 3 games then 2/3 in one game.

i need to switch to steriods maybe that will help lol. but serious i love the show but geez the learning curve for each year is hard. so u guys play with zone and dont move the pci and just swing.let me try. i am not retarting my franchise again. i really want to play a full 162 game season for once.

Psycho, I like this is MUCH better than timing because hitters crush pitches in the middle of the zone. On the Timing, it was a crapshoot and most of the time I felt robbed. Just minor tweaks now, no worries...it's not like these sliders need drastic changes for my personal tastes. Overall, I'm very happy.

Give it a try. It's a day/night difference, you'll start hitting better when the pitches catches too much of the plate with your power hitters, as it should be.

95 pages is to many to look and see if it's been answered so I'll ask here.
Do sliders go back to default when playing online? Things like pitch speed.

34 games into the season I'm playing .500 ball with the Indians while batting .254 which is extremely frustrating. I just got shutout by Ervin Santana while posting only four hits. Last game I won 6-5 with 11 hits, but three were homers and all were by the same three guys. It's pretty much like this every game. All the hits each game are by one or two of the same guys. The rest are 0-4 or 0-5. I average around 8 or 9 strikeouts a game. The sliders are not helping me one bit. I even turned down pitch speed to 0 and I still can't hit the ball. Every time I make contact it's either a cheap dribbler, a pop up or a lazy fly ball. I turned both contact and timing up to full 10 and still can't do anything. This is nothing like when I played the game for PS2. Thank you PS3 for ruining my favorite baseball game ever.

So how is the hitting using zone without moving the left stick working out for guys? It seems like it works fine when a pitcher hangs one here or there since to make solid contact it has to basically be right down the heart of the plate but if you either cant jump on a guy early before his confidence goes up or you run into a pitcher who keeps the ball down you wont hit for **** using this method. Ive played countless games using this hitting method and have yet to make solid contact on anything lower in the zone so either Im doing something wrong or you guys are just willing to accept this issue. Im playing the Mets currently, Jon Neise on the mound, and the guy is like the second coming of Cy Young, he doesnt leave anything over the plate, hits corners with regularity and keeps the ball down so Ive got 0 hits through 5 innings because of this. Im not swinging at junk constantly as Ive drawn 2 hard fought walks but I dont see how this hitting method works when a guy is on his game and doesnt leave anything in the middle of the plate. Very curious to hear some feedback as I thought this hitting method was going to save the game for me and as it turns out it seems to trade one problem for another.

                      Hey everyone,

I just have a quick question. Like many other people that have played this year version I'm struggling offensively this year. ALOT. I wont tell you what my numbers are because I don't want to throw up. I'm tired of messing with my sliders. I'm just going to use these. There the most downloaded and highest rated on sports connect and there's no reason that I couldn't use them as well. If I was going to change one slider from this set to create much more offense what would it be? Solid hits, power, contact? What changes have you folks made from this set if your having trouble? I love the global sliders, and especially the pitching sliders, just want the create more offense. Would using the pitching and global sliders from this set, and using default hitting do the trick? I play on all star by the way. Any advise would be appreciated

Up the timing slider for you and see if that helps. I did this only 1 notch and am now hitting the ball well and was playing exactly like you before this.

Chef, I've read some of your posts and you seem to have the worst luck right now. I regularly get fat pitches in hitter's counts...Are you patient at the plate?

really all this off one game against Niese and through 5 innings? Go to contact swing to get a larger PCI area or play Niese a good 10 times before jumping to conclusions

Just wondering if anyone else with timing issues (i.e. reading the pitch) has messed with that slider to help their hitting? it seems to be working for me and i'm less frustrated. Still having close games but seeming more realistic at the moment...

Exactly why I stopped that method and using these sliders. Anything low or on the black is unhittable.
