I'm 0-9 in my franchise....I get 2-5 hits per game. I have 2 doubles and 1 home run all year
(I have played a lot more games overall though)

I don't know if the M's are just that crappy (In real life they are, I know)
or if I'm doing something wrong?

I have been playing this game for years, and never really had this problem.
    any advise?
    1) Are the sliders exactly as they are in post #1 of the thread?

    2) Are you using Zone Hitting?

    3) Are you drawing any walks? If not, a good part of the problem is that oyu need to be a better hitter and swing at less crap

Yes they are exactly the same

      Yes zone hitting.

I do draw walks, not a lot I assume but a decent amount. but Im talking about the balls I hit that are right on the sweet spot. they just dont go anywhere productive.

like just now I was Ichiro, got a fasball in low center of plate, got perfect timing and super contact. and it was a lazy pop up....its just frustrating

I changed to Timing put Solid hits Human/Cpu to 4 and the Power both to 4, the rest same as in first page. Now i hit like i want it and get my first win in first game of the season. Still to much strikeouts on my side, had to play more games and we see if i get better!

Don't know what to tell you dude........I'm not hearing from people saying they just can't hit at all. Hate to say it, but you need to get better

          Try using Catcher Cam 3

^How do you do those box score things?

I see other people posting them too, do you just do it by hand or is there some trick involved?

              I use first catcher cam

I get better with a lot practice at the bat, maybe he should do that too.

Guys, first of all, thank you for all your work on these. You have made the game even that much more fun if that was even possible.

My question is pitching. I use meter pitching, throw about 66-68% strikes and still manage to give up a ton of homers and at least 6-7 runs per game regardless of the pitcher I use. I tried classic and simply found the ball to end up nowhere near where I had intended. As well, I have been playing on Hall-Of-Fame level.

Any feedback you can give so that I don't have to drop back down to All-Star. I seem to be a bit too dominant at that level.

                  Thanks in advance...

Hey TNK...I did this last night. As I was simming through sprint training I received several pop-up messages indicating certain teams didn't have complete line-ups. How did you handle those? Did you just hit auto fix?

I was in the same spot as you. I gave up like 15 homers to the jays in the opening series in my twins franchise so I knocked the cpu power slider to 4. So far it has helped. I'm playing NY now and I've given up 3 in 2 games which in my opinion is pretty good.

You also have to take into affect the stadium your playing in. I'm convinced that The Show has taken real life results in stadiums and put them into the game. The Jays and Yanks both play in stadiums where balls fly out, therefore there is going to be more HR's. Plus the Jays and Yanks are very powerful teams. This can be seen by how many HR's the Jays hit in real life against the Twins the past three days. Once I get further in my franchise I will be able to see the difference in stadiums across the league. It will be interesting to see the difference between two of the most HR ballparks compared to the stadium with the least amount of HR's, Target Field. So far though I'm convinced that each stadium will play to their real life counterparts which is pretty sweet.

I turned Injuries to OFF for Spring Training.....Then turn it back on once the Regular Season starts.

I still haven't started playing yet, making sure lineups, rotations, etc are all the way I want them

I am a good pitcher thats the problem. Most of the hits the CPU was getting are HR's. I am pitching on all star and it takes learning the hard way to figure out the pitching. I am getting the hang of it now. You can't start every batter off with a FB. You gotta throw first pitch breaking balls or a changeup as well. Also it's not smart to throw a first pitch strike every time. A lot of time the hitters swing on the first pitch because they know that you have thrown 80% first pitch strikes so that means they will probabally look for that first pitch strike to swing at.

This also goes for pitches after pitch 1 of an at bat. You truly have to think like a real pitcher would. Also with meter I had to change up my mechanics. If you flick the stick to the location it will go to that location. Before I was using my thumb to glide the stick all the way up to the location I wanted it to go. So basically I was trying to guide the ball to where I wanted it to got. How ironic is it that in real life pitchers need to just throw the ball and not guide it. When you guide it you get in trouble. It's like the real thing. On another note I am way better at meter pitching so I went back to it for one game and I couldn't do it. Meter just feels better and is more fun.

                              TNK,

                              Here's a suggestion.

On page 1, write up a little pitching and hitting advice column. I realize that this may seem inane, but you could refer people to the first post when they're struggling.

You and Psycho will undoubtedly have the most popular sliders on OS. Probably hundreds or even thousands of users...with a WIDE variety of play ability and baseball knowledge.

As long as people understand the benefits of mixing speeds, making/breaking patterns, pressing select and looking at pitch/hit history, and not button mashing in order to "think/plan/and execute," they should be fine.

I think a small tutorial for newbies or struggling veterans of the series would go a long way. And save you a TON of headaches.

Is this a bad idea? I'll write one for you if you want..it's just that I don't use this exact set or hitting/pitching mechanics. I did use your mechanics last year (zone and meter), fwiw.

2nd game of the season and again a great game. Dunn hit the 2 run homer in the 9th inning. The sliders back to 4 on power allows home runs for both sides. The solid hits for both on 4 makes the game better.
