And if I am successful in moving my PCI, my swing is late 90% of the time, causing me to strike out or hit constantly to the opposite field. And just so you know, I have spent hours in BP, and can't seem to break out of this pattern with Zone hitting.
Move the left stick to aim AS YOU SWING - you only have to move it slightly (half way) most of the time. You don't have to pin it all the way as far as it will go.

You can move the stick to aim for your zone before, during or even just after you hit "X" to start your swing. I try to focus on doing them together instead of aiming then swinging. Focus on see ball, hit ball while doing BP and you will get better.

      TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

      Game #16 of The Season

The Red Sox jumped out to a 5-0 lead as the red hot Jarrod Saltlamacchia hit a 3-run HR in the 2nd inning and Mike Cameron hit a 2-run HR in the 3rd inning. Saltalamacchia has hit 2 HR and driven in 7 RBI in the past 2 games. Toronto started chipping away at the lead in the 6th inning when they finally got to Jon Lester for 3 runs. Travis Snider took Lester deep in the 7th inning to cut the Boston lead to 5-4. Dustin Pedroia extended the Boston lead to 7-4 with a 2-run double in the bottom of the 7th. Bobby Jenks came on to pitch the 8th for the Sox and serve up a solo HR to Adam Lind to make it 7-5. Papelbon picked up his 5th save of the season.

The Red Sox complete the 4 game sweep of the Blue Jays and now prepare for a 9 game road trip as they head west to Oakland and Los Angeles and travel back to the east coast for a series in Baltimore to wrap up the road trip.

Sorry, but after another 2 1/2 hrs of batting practice today, that PCI is not moving if I hit the X button first. So now I'm completely baffled. I have to move the PCI before I hit the X button, and that leaves me with a strike out, or late contact.

I know this is a joint effort when it comes to sliders, however, since I use timing hitting (tried zone for 30+ games, not liking it) I am asking if Psycho could post the sliders he is currently running with atm. I am using your front page set now, but i wanted to see if he had any other thoughts on making timing hitting all the more realistic.

My thought on Zone is this. I noticed that with good contact hitters (players with a decent PCI size) will be able to foul off quite a few pitches even if they are outside of the pci circle or even the strike zone. But my main issue is that with your big bats who may not have the biggest pci, you are not consistently able to make pitchers pay with balls up in the zone or even in their Hot zones outside of the pci sweet spot.

if it had worked for you in past editions of the show, then this yr something must be diff. w/ zone hitting?

I also switched back from Zone to Timing. The only thing I don't like about timing it's randomness. It seems when the computer wants you to hit, it'll put the PCI wherever. However, I like that more than Zone hitting without moving the cursor.

That was my main reason for switching to zone from timing initially... I have found that with the contact at 6 it is quite a bit better than before. It seems that the timing of your swing as a lot to do with the accuracy of your pci, so you might want to try bumping up timing a notch or 2 just to test it out.

Ive actually got contact at 7 but with solid hits still at 3 and so far Im liking the results. I recently murdered Buehrle but then couldnt do anything against the pen, I was shut down completely by Peavy but had moderate success off of Gavin Floyd until the pen came in and shut me down again. In the series with Chicago I hit 0.268 which is a far cry from the 0.220 I was hitting before going back to timing with the adjustments mentioned. I figure if batting averages go up too much then I'll put contact back to 6 and bump solid hits to 4 where PB mentioned having it, only fearful that doing that will lead to too many extra base hits over the long haul.

                            TNK - RED SOX FRANCHISE

                            Game #17 of The Season

The Red Sox needed 10 innings to pick up the win in Oakland. The A's jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on RBI hits by Daric Barton and Kurt Suzuki. Dustin Pedroia had an RBI single cut it to 2-1 in the 5th and David Ortiz blasted a solo HR to tie the game 2-2 in the 6th. The game remained tied through 9 innings as Lackey and Anderson were both solid and the bullpens did some great work to keep the score tied. Darnell McDonald got things started for Boston with a leadoff double as the Red Sox exploded for 3 runs in the top of the 10th. Dustin Pedroia drove in McDonald on a double off the wall in center field to make it 3-2. The Sox loaded the bases with 2 outs and JD Drew came through with a 2-run single to pad Bostons lead to 5-2 and give the Red Sox the win.

The Red Sox are on a 5 game winning streak

Same as the set on page 1 other than Solid Hits at 4 and Timing at 6 for both Human & CPU.

I like the feel of it at the moment, it seems to sit well with Timing hitting.
