I highly suggest messing around with the CUSTOM CAMERA and batting from the view I am using......I started with the CATCHER CLASSIC camera and moved it around to get this view which helps you see the pitch coming in and identify balls and strikes better than the default view

I had to mess around with cameras as well. I wound up starting from catcher offset and moving the camera down a ways. Helps me pick up breaking balls much better. I still get fooled, but I'm not miles ahead of every changeup like I was before.

You guys should play this with Pitch speed slider at max. You'll struggle and swing at a lot of bad pitches, but getting hits and walks feels so rewarding.

I also feel that the pitches look more lifelike.

I did have a moment this morning where I thought for sure I was playing an EA Sports game. I was up 2-1 in the 8th, brought in my setup guy. All of a sudden my defense was making errors. Dodgers hit a single then attempted steal - and my catcher overthrew the 2B and they take 3rd. Next batter gets base hit and its tied. Eventually they get 2nd and 1st with two outs then, inexplicably, my 2B makes an errant throw to 1st. Now I'm getting pissed because it totally felt like 'catch-up' CPU tactics. To top it off, bounding ball to 2B and he just has to flip to SS to get out of the inning and somehow their baserunner goes from 1st to 2nd and beats the flip! Talk about cheese.
I keep running into this problem as well. It has happened to me about 6-8 times where the CPU comes back and ties the game after my team commits a few mistakes or errors beyond my control. My games usually go into extra innings and the CPU will win after about 3-4 extra innings. I almost think there is a comeback logic built into the system because it happens so many times.

I gotta thank you for this view too. Appears this will be better for me as well. I just scored 4 runs in the first inning using this view.

I'm still using the same slider set. I just made a few adjustments. I increased timing by 2 above default, put solid hits back to default, and lowered foul frequency to 2 below default.

Try going back to the actual sliders while using this view and let me know what you think

Ok, I'll give that a shot. I'll post a box score of my current game with the adjustments I made, and I'll play a game later today with the original set and post a box score of that.

Apologies for my post in here yesterday. I was really frustrated when I wrote that little rant.

They work great on rtts. I started out hitting like .200 in my first month but I started tearing it up through an injury plagued season. Here are my stats (I think): .324 avg 4 hr 60 RBI 29 BB. I hit a lot of doubles and triples so my slugging % was just north of .500. i think i had 12 SB and 5 CS. This was all in 311 at bats in AA. Didn't get called up because they " didn't have room for me". But I signed a 1 year extension to be the aaa starter.

TNK, this is the game I had with the 3 adjustments I mentioned earlier. I'll play another one later with the regular set.

I just lost four straight to the Astros.

                                At home.

                                Wait....what?

Okay. this was a real eye-opener for me. I have been thinking a lot about some of the posts on here about how most of the games are low scoring and it is hard to put up runs. Granted, hitting in this game is much harder than in the past couple of years, but I really started paying attention to WHY I feel that the opposing pitchers seem to be keeping us all in check this time around.

I am a pretty patient hitter. Sometimes my vision goes wonky and I chase nasty sliders or curves, but for the most part I know to hold off for the one or two good pitches per batter.

I started watching the opposing pitcher confidence during the game. What I started to realize is that it seems that the computer pitcher gets its confidence jacked up really quickly. I noticed that after just a couple innings, even if I had a smattering of hits or even a run or so, the computer is unflappable and the confidence goes up fast.

Along with that, the proficiency of the CPU pitches elevates quickly as well. I noticed in each of the four games that early on the pitcher nearly had full blue bars in either three or all four of the primary pitches.

The result is that even a number four of five starter is suddenly on fire and really painting the black at will. Even if you make perfect contact occasionally, since the pitch is blue-barred, it rarely has a positive effect and often is a groundout or pop up.

Does anybody else see this? When is the last time you remember getting a big inning of more that 3 runs or so? It's as if the computer just regains composure too quickly.
