Re: TNK - 2012 Realism Sliders Thread

Found a thread about a custom camera that works pretty darn well. Figured I would share it being that I am probably not the only one struggling to hit the ball.

I am seeing way to many diving catches and fielders getting to line drives with ease, I am thinking about bumping down fielder reaction by one and see how that goes. Has anyone else been seeing this? I also see the computer attempt steals at a very high rate with steal frequency at 5.

So i went back to default batting camera catcher instead of classic catcher and lowered pitch speed to 3 and WHAM everything is perfect im seeing a variety in scoring, batter timing i think they sped up the pitch speed from last year at least visually so im gonna use your sliders with just pitch speed at 3 i definately recommend that for anyone who felt like they were definately ON the ball last year but a little behind this year.
Check post #1 - try modifying your camera to the one I am using....IT HAS HELPED A TON AND OTHERS WILL VERIFY

Dude - impossible to give you step by step.....start with Catcher Classic....raise it, zoom out a little, change the angle a bit with the right joystick.....all I can do is give you the image of my screen and you have to take it from there

** I recommend using the two teams I have in the pic, and trying to match up some stuff on the screen like batters box, top of pitchers head, something in the distance in centerfield, etc.

cool. I've played a few games with your set and I do enjoy them but I have seen some glaring issues. The most important has to do with the insane amount of diving catches that should of been base hits. I lowered Fielder reaction by one and I'll go from there but I am also considering lowering fielder run speed down by one as well. The other is that I am getting frustrated to see how many times the user batter's PCI is way off of where the pitch lands regardless if I worked the count and waited for my pitch, to try and remedy this I am going to raise human timing by one. Lastly I am seeing the computer attempt steals at an above average rate. This may be because this year you have to throw over more often to keep the runner close but as of right now I am seeing a lot of steal attempts. I'll play some more games and see how things go.

I highly recommend switching to ZONE HITTING......give it a whirl with the Custom Camera in post #1 of the thread....TRUST ME

As for the diving catches - I'm not seeing that issue at all......I haven't had anyone else bring this up at all

BOSTON RED SOX (ME) @ TEXAS RANGERS (CPU)

Clay Buchholz and Derek Holland squared off on the mound. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 4th when Adrian Beltre launched a solo HR the opposite way to RF to make it 1-0. Derek Holland retired 15 straight to start the game and was perfect through 5 innings as the Red Sox struggled to get the bats going. David Murphy led off the bottom of the 5th with a double and Mitch Moreland drew a walk but Buchholz got Kinsler to pop out and then got Andrus to ground into an inning ending double play to escape the jam. Jarrod Saltalamacchia broke up the perfect game with a ground rule double to lead off the 6th inning, Darnell McDonald bunted Saltalamacchia over to 3rd and Mike Aviles drove him in with a ground out to tie the game up at 1-1. Adrian Gonzalez made a bid to break the tie in the top of the 7th but Josh Hamilton made a great running catch at the warning track in CF to haul it in. Mike Napoli led off the bottom of the 7th with a single to LF and that was the end of the night for Buchholz as Alfredo Aceves came out of the pen for Boston. Aceves struck out David Murphy looking with a backdoor curve, Moreland singled to LF to put runners at 1st & 2nd with 1 out but Aceves got Knisler to ground into a 5-4-3 double play to end the 7th inning. Holland escaped the 8th inning when Cody Ross was thrown out trying to steal 2nd after drawing a walk. Josh Hamilton walked with 1 out in the bottom of the 8th Julio Borbon was called on to pinch run and swiped 2nd base. Borbon then was moved to 3rd base on a ground out by Young bringing up Adrian Beltre with 2outs. Beltre delivered an RBI single off Vicente Padilla to scroe Bornon with the go ahead run to make it 2-1, Padilla would get Nelson Cruz to fly out to end the inning and send the game to the 9th inning. Holland remained in for the top of the 9th and finished it off with a 1-2-3 inning as he struck out McDonald and Aviles before getting Ellsbury to line out to LF to end the game.

                    > In 6+ innings of work Buchholz threw 95 pitches (67% Strikes)
                    > In 9 innings of work Holland threw 104 pitches (73% Strikes)

                    * A masterful performance by Holland as he threw a complete game 1 hitter, Holland kept the Red Sox hitters off balance all game. This was the best pitching performance against me to date.....I just couldn't get into a rhythm offensively.

I am also having this issue. I don't know if it's slider related or not. All I know is, a lot of teams I play have incredible defensive players.

You need to make sure you have the sliders set exactly as in post #1 of the thread

Fielder Speed, Fielder Reaction, Pitch Speed, Contact, Power, Solid Hits, etc......these can all have some type of effect on this.

                              POST OF THE YEAR!!!

TNK is trying to have us do the same thing, but I just happened to use this one instead due to some easy point of references.

It took about four innings to get used to but man can I square up so much better now. PCI is virtually always mostly squared up and I am seeing results. 17 hits and 11 runs in an 11-3 romp over Miami.

I combine this view with technique I used last year, which is to have the PCI on, and then frame the pitcher with it at release and follow it in the zone. Helps a ton and you can do much easier determine when not to swing.

I would make the switch to Zone hitting if it was better, but I hate moving the left stick around when I'm swinging.
