To be honest.....yesterday I played a game and I hit a bloop into short Right Centerfield......the 2nd baseman ran back while the centerfielder and rightfielder came charging in and the ball was just out of reach of the 2nd baseman.....I noticed it more on the replay, but all 3 fielders were within a few feet of each other.

    Trust me....it happens

For those struggling with hitting I came up with a great solution that works for me. Drop CPU pitcher consistency down to three. What this will do is make identifying balls and strikes much easier because there is much less painting going on. Also it appears that lowering this slider also causes the CPU to get rattled easier and allow for some good rally innings.

Also, I swear by solid hits at two. Dont worry, you will still get your HR's doubles and triples. Just a better variety of hits.

I zone hit, have the PCI on, and yes, I move the PCI.

Last four games: 5-1, 1-2, 5-3, 5-4. Avg about 3-4 walks per game.

For those saying they are having a hard time hitting doubles into the gap and whatnot, check out my latest game. Doubles are possible if your pitch speed and timing are right for you. I have pitch speed set at 3, and am now using Zone hitting without moving the PCI. Had 6 doubles in this game.

TNK: Is it possible for you to turn on the strike zone for your custom camera picture? I think it might make it easier to set the strike zone box first and then adjust the other aspects. Either way thanks so much for the work on the sliders. It makes the game much more enjoyable

I've played well over 20-25 games now since the game came out. I've had a few majestic home runs and some that go right over the wall. Also, this game I played against the Marlins was the first game this year that I got that many doubles in one game. I normally average 1-3 doubles a game. Like I said, it is possible. It's just a matter of getting your timing down and getting the pitch speed right for you, and also being patient and waiting for good pitches to hit.

I wasn't too sold on solid hits at 3 at first either, but I've come around on it and had some good hit variety.

This is exactly what I mean....hit variety is much better at 3 than at 4

The KEY is not swinging at crap, and getting your timing down

Agreed, I scored 7 runs on 7 hits today with the Mets. I was struggling in the beginning too but the biggest difference for me was finding a better camera angle and swinging at better pitches. I wasn't seeing the ball like I did in MLB 11. I kept swinging at low breaking balls for instance (I use pitcher based view for hitting), but I altered the view a little bit and now I'm seeing the ball better, I'm walking and having productive at bats. You really have to work the count. Once their confidence starts going down, you can tell they make poor pitches down the middle and you can take advantage. That's not to say you should be scoring 5-7 runs a game but it is possible for sure. These sliders really are great. Great variety of hits. Flows real well. Thanks tnk!!!

I've only adjusted three things and I am seeing great results. I use timing hitting and classic pitching so I bumped up Human contact to 6 and human pitcher consistency to 5, I've also lowered fielder reaction down to 4. These are the only adjustments I've made and I'm digging the game finally.

just a quick question in case others have tried this and can give me some input. if you put the cpu contact to 4 do they chase more pitches or swing through more? if you put your own user contact to 4 does this really limit the amount of base hits or decent contact you will get? I think it was MLB 09 or 10 where if you put contact down to even 4 it severely limited the user/cpu player's contact. might as well have put it down to 0.

When hitting do you still need to move the left analog stick or do you just swing? New to the game, thanks ... these sliders seem awesome!

Also where can these be downloaded at? I've seen "the vault" mentioned and was curious what that is?

                              Thanks!
