I am loving this game with these sliders. I'm currently 8-6 with my Nats chise and only a half game out of first.

For those of you playing the Hybrid version, are you getting many walks?
I started out with All-Star hitting in Spring Training, but as a team I was only hitting .238 for the entire spring training so I thought I would try the Hybrid sliders when I start the regular season. I am hitting .320 as a team but can not walk to save my life. I was getting ready to move back up to All-Star until the Rangers shut me out in back to back games. I am digging the Hybrid sliders right now, I just hope the batting average corrects itself.
With Hybrid I hit well, but pitchers throw like 70% or more strikes.Last edited by Brandwin; 04-22-2013, 03:52 PM.Comment

Re: Armor & Swords/Marino's - MLB The Show 13 Timed/Classic Sim Sliders
Anyone having issues with injuries? I am in the second week of May and have only had 1 injury for my team. None in the minors. I have seen the CPU get them in simmed games but none during my play.
I was thinking of upping the injury slider to 7. Thoughts??Comment

You've just been somewhat lucky. I don't see it as an issue. I see it as a blessing. I've had one player go out for 6 months, and about three or four minor ones for a few days. I'm at May 1st. I have injuries on default (5).Comment

Ok, as you can probably see, I started a thread on this very subject (we are at the same time in our Franchises, btw) so you know I feel your pain, or lack thereof.
But NONE in your minors indicates to me that you may have your Profile injuries set to off or Manual.
That said, assuming you have it ON, I had NONE in the MAJORS until just recently, when Uggla and Freeman went down (about a week each). You could turn it up (I may end up doing that) or you could wait another week and see how it goes. Energy is going to impact you, especially once you hit one of those 20 games in 20 day stretches.
But none in your MINORS is very unusual.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 04-22-2013, 05:35 PM.Comment

I'm currently 22nd in the league with a team batting average of .228 as the Yankees.
Putting it into perspective if you average 8 hits a game and 35 at bats you team average is right at .228.
And to me averaging 8 hits a game isn't horrible. Some games I'll have 4 or 5 hits and I've had one game with 14 and one with 12.
My team rankings I can remember off the top of my head I'm second in home runs, 1st in stolen bases, 19th in runs, and 14th in team ERA. Not sure of exact totals for all these though.
Overall I'm pretty happy with the stats I'm getting.Comment

I'd trade Mark Malancon.
Play out your 29 games and post back. If it stays in the neighborhood of where it is now I'd leave it alone. Burnett and Liriano are pitching well so clearly you can pitch great when your pitchers have good stuff.
Otherwise, if it blows up, I'd personally leave the CPU offense alone and raise you pitcher's Control one click.

My pitching was still pretty poor and I kept losing, so I took your advice. I increased HUM Pitch Control to 5. I started a new test season to get fresh stats. I have played 14 games. It has been playing great. So far my pitching has been very good. I really like it with control at 5. I still walk plenty of batters (more than I was before), but don't give up as many hits and runs. I have gotten better at hitting, still striking out a lot, but that has come down. Thanks for all the help. I am now ready to start my franchise! Here are my stats from those 14 games.

Things look awesome!
Don't worry about the HR's allowed and stuff like that right now. I went 9 consecutive games without allowing a HR in my Franchise but things balanced out over time.
It's good to see your K's under 10!!!!
I look forward to your updates.Comment

Re: Armor & Swords/Marino's - MLB The Show 13 Timed/Classic Sim Sliders
Here we go again.
Yeah, definitely worth a try. But 4 per game, and especially with your current BA results, is not out of the realm of possibility.
But don't feel bad if you stay at 1. Your results have proven good, so no need messing around unless you feel it's necessary.
Try it. If it totally ruins hitting for you, go back (or try it at 2) and don't turn back. I liked your stats because Heroes digs the BB ball.Comment

EDIT: I am just going to stick with it at 1. I was getting great results, no need to change. thanks again for encouraging me to stay with it. I would probably still be going from Vet to AS level back and forth if it wasn't for you. I owe you man, thanks again.Last edited by tree3five; 04-24-2013, 06:14 PM.Comment
