Pitch speed at 3 or 4 on All-Star will help, too.

I can deal with it. I just moved back to Veteran after a lack of HRs and then I was getting killed by the slow curveballs because of the change of speed.

      Thanks for the advice though.

No Your stats look really good.

But more importantly.....how much fun are you having with the game?

The All-Star set is great. The Hybrid set is just a way to have less stress hitting. You will still lose, strike out etc, but you will hit the ball harder more consistently and you can still draw walks.

It really comes down to personal preference.
So true. I went through all of the Spring and two weeks of the season with the Hybrid set, but couldn't work walks. I felt the CPU threw in the zone too much (The Andrew Cashner 78 pitch complete game was the last straw)so I switched to the All-Star set. Great challenge, pitchers are smarter like you said, I've been making them work, but cannot get runs (see:avatar ) I used your Hybrid last year and loved it. I am really enjoying this set. I'll give an update on stats after my first month, but for now I will continue struggling for every win...

The game is really fun. I just don't want to end up with an absurd win/loss record, but overall I'm enjoying the game a ton. I hope to complete my first 162 game season this year!

I love these sliders but I upped pitch speed to 10 on veteran hitting as I was always early. Still am on the slow pitches but better. I also upped injury to 9 as I have played 60 games and have had only 1 !!!!!!!! injury. Only 1 in the minors too. I also made sure that injury was on. Anyone else have injury issues or the lack there of??

Has anyone experimented with metered pitching with this set? I like the clean look that I've created of no windows, no pitch or swing result display, etc., but I keep coming back to zone hitting at metered pitching feeling more immersive (just for me).

That said, I like the look and overall feel of these sliders, so has anyone kept these basically but moved to zone and meter?

I hope that's not far off track from the thread, guys. I'll take responses via PM to keep the boards from being cluttered.

With this slider set being so close to default in most categories you could use it with just about any interface and be fine. You'd maybe look to drop HUM Pitch Control and Consistency.

I rarely if ever use the power swing. I will use the contact swing when I get behind in the count. Probably 95% normal swing.

I use swing influence. With two strikes, I tend to go oppo. With men in scoring position, I will try to get the ball in the air. Contact guys up, and a guy on first, I'll try and hit one on the ground. I use power in hitters counts, a runner in scoring position and less than two out, big boppers up, or if I need to get a pitcher out of his groove. It's all about me wanting to take the risk or not...

Wow, I just plugged these in to a new RTTS and had a blast.

Let me preface it by saying I just picked up a PS3 on Sunday because I was tired of not having a baseball game to play. So I've been getting used to RTTS hitting and pitching the last couple of days.

Last night, I was thinking pitching was getting too easy. I had started on the beginner setting and worked through the 6 stages. So I looked for a slider set today and started a new pitcher in RTTS. I pitched well, but it felt like I had to stay on top of things and pitch smart. We won 5-2, my line 8IP 6H 2R/2ER 2BB 6K - I loved the 2 BBs since on beginner I never walked anyone. They crushed a couple of balls off me, and my RF bailed me out on 3 occasions making catches going away from the plate.

All and all the game had a great feel to it, and I always felt like I was on the verge of watching the skipper come out and send me to the showers. Off for my next start. Thanks!
