I do not play with metered pitching. These are not meter pitching sliders.

I'm curious about this too. I love the sliders but not a huge fan of pitching with just a button

I put control and consistency at 4 and its helped for meter pitching.

thanx for info nick...i already upped timing and contact from 5 to 6. i also lowered pitch speed from 5 to 4. i use catcher camera 2...im almost there,just need offensive tweaking,only getting like 4 hits a game. im pretty patient,maybe not patient enough. would a different camara angle work or upping human contact and timing to 7 ?? thanx in advance

I'm not an expert in this but I use a custom camera, based off catcher cam 1. Just keep playing around with it until u like what you see. Tnk has a photo of it on the 1st page of his sliders. I've switched back and forth between pitch speed 3 or 4. I just don't have the reflexes for 5 and above. Armor could tell u better which sliders would affect what to help w offense. Maybe switching to zone hitting would help so u have more user input going into your ab's. Just suggestions to try.

i think i will stick w/timing hitting. 1st yr. playing for me,so im stickin basics. i play 1 game,sim 5 in my franchise,so ill wind up playin 25 games or so.....thanx again,maybe ill try Armour quick

Hi A&S....im new here and had couple quick questions...i started my 1st ever franchise w/ your all star sliders,they are great ! i play 1 game,sim 5...so ill play about 25 games for the season. im new to the show,my pitching is good,but my hitting kinda poor. i already upped human contact and timing from 5 to 6,but not much better. would upping solid hits to 5 be way too much offense ? maybe contact and timing to 7 ? pitch speed is at 4 now..granted i only played 5 games,wondering if i should start franchise over w/1 or 2 clicks of appropriate slider....thanx in advance ....any help out there wud be sweet !!!

Well I gotta tell ya. If your only playing 25 games.....your going to get frustrated. I go through 6-8 game stretches where I can't hit. The ebb and flow of a 162 game season is captured by The Show and this game is the ultimate console sports game, for if anything that very reason.

This is game IMO is designed to be played for long stretches. What I am saying is the more games you actually play instead of sim....the more joy you will get out of it. Part of the charm of baseball is the journey. So playing through slumps is a huge part of baseball. When you get ona roll...it is awesome. Only to get humbled by a Verlander to bring back down to earth.

I suggest you play more games. Play at least half of them (81). You will understand what I am trying to say by playing a lot more.

25 games....small sample size in a game that demands reps. Lot's of reps.

thanx for responding Armour !... i wish i could play more than 25 franchise games,i work tons,long commute and wife would go nuts ! i practiced about 20 games before i started Reds franchise...me playing 25 games will probably take me to Xmas...but,i wanted to hop into a franchise. again,your sliders are great,my pitching quite good...any sliders i can click up 1,for a tiny bit more human offense for someone who obviously doesnt play that much as others ? human contact or timing to 7 ? solid hits to 5 ? thanx again....

I absolutely love this game. Been using the Hybrid Slider set with the Nationals. These sliders are awesome, thank you for your hard work. I have a question, hopefully someone here can give me some advice. My pitching and fielding is pretty good. ( I have Strasburgh and Gonzale ). My hitting needs a lot to be desired. After 20 games using the sliders, the team was hitting about .204. I left my pitching and fielding sliders alone, but increased hitting contact, power, solid hits by 1. I also set my pitch speed down to zero. Played another 20 games and saw very little change, if any. What should I try now? I just can't seem to score more than a couple runs a game, and i'm lucky to get 8 hits.

Power numbers are ultra realistic so far and right in line with todays MLB's pwoer numbers. I am at almost the same exact point as IRL. This weekend I have my June draft and I will post up my team/player stats and other nuggets when I get a moment to breath as I have a huge Travel baseball tourny this weekend with my son (I coach his team).

Get into the batting cage and take a ton of BP...learn to have good pitch recognition etc. This game is unforgiving for the most part. And I go through some rough stretches as well every season.

My game finally arrived - though I'll have to buy an online pass I suppose to get those rosters (can't remember if it was like that for 09 or not...)

Anyway, are your sets (I'll likely use the hybrid setting) good for RTTS mode or are there differences on that mode that would require adjustment.

Hey KB,

You must get an online pass (if you bought it used and they used the code) to get the awesome classic rosters as well as OSFM. Absolute must. Your replay value will be amazing.

As far as the sliders for RTTS...they work really good for that mode as well.

Be very patient in learning how to hit and pitch. Once you get it...you will addicted for life to The Show.

Holy cow, just had the best game ever on The Show this afternoon. If you visit my dynasty (in my arena), you can see the box score. I'm using the standard All-Star slider set.

Long story short, I beat the Twins as the Orioles 3-2 in 12 innings. Down 2-1 in the 8th, Nate McLouth hit an RBI Double off of Jared Burton to tie it up. Took the game all the way to the 12th, and McLouth hit a walk-off single off of Brian Duensing to win it.

McLouth finished the game 5-for-6 with all 3 RBIs. He had a double and 4 singles. Talk about red hot, he was crushing the ball all night long. This game is so awesome when paired with these sliders.

So much variety! Offense couldn't get going in the opening series in Tampa. Got swept and scored only 5 runs in the series (all in the final game, in a loss). Once I got home to Camden Yards, I scored 10 runs in the 1st game and clobbered the Twins. Then this game, a 3-2 walk-off win! Follow my dynasty for even more updates. For now, thanks to all involved with these sliders. You've rejuvenated my love for this game.
