Never have I seen this in over 125 games now.

Could it happen...sure. It's a video game. And I am not about to find out if it is slider related....too busy loving this game.

    Let's move on please.

No, it's not a slider issue. It's a game issue. No sliders could fix it. It's just one of those things you gotta deal with. But the game is definitely worth it.

I am surprised it has occured for some.....yet to see it.

Something cool last night happened. I saw a hard grounder bounce off of first base. It was pretty awesome.

I've seen one hit the 2nd base bag and then pop up really high. I was shocked as hell that such a thing was possible in a video game. It was great.

Generally speaking, I love how unpredictable the caroms of the baseball are when it hits objects on the field or players. They have so much variety built in.

            Re: Armor & Swords/Marino's - MLB The Show 13 Timed/Classic Sim Sliders

Well i guess that i cant cut it on Veteran yet i got shut out in back to back games so i went back to Rookie... i cant stand the strike out and with out guess pitch or even in its current format it is useless so i am a free swinger. Don't suggest i go to the cage that will have no affect. i am a see ball hit ball king of hitter. Since i have no aid to help me be patient this year this is what i have become.

i tried to tweak the sliders on rookie so that i could lessen my over all hits per game but even that is useless. as i pounded out 14 hits in my last game with contact, power, timing, and solid contact all at 3. Oh i also hit four home runs with those settings on Rookie.

how can i balance out either Rookie or Veteran to help me achieve what i want. i want to be able to hit, score runs, win but not consistently have 10+ hits every game?

Again im not looking for pure sim or anything that will be nail biting games, i want to be able to average 3-6 runs a game, 5-9 hits a game, strike out less than 10 x per game. is there any thing i can do to do this or am i stuck with what the game gives me...

to give you an example of how much of a free swinger i am i can have a pitcher be in the 5th inning and have thrown less than 30 pitches and over 90% be considers strikes.

Bump up all the hitting sliders on Veteran and then gradually bring them back to default when you consistently are performing above what your expectations are.

I know some will knock you for not "playing sim" but I give you props for admitting you like more offense in your games. I do think you can achieve that on Veteran, but it may take a little time. Give the sliders a boost and go from there.

Hopefully that'll help you enjoy the game the way you want to.

Just wanted to thank Armor & Sword for these wicked sliders. I'm not the type of person that likes to mess with sliders or even try "sim" settings, but after trying these hybrid settings I don't think I could ever go back to default.

I'm finally enjoying this game the way it was meant to be enjoyed. It is indeed a masterpiece of a game. With possibly the best graphics in any sports game ever along with the fabulous gameplay ...... you just can't go wrong

I started off with these sliders using meter pitching and zone hitting. It didn't take me long to realize that these sliders were definitely designed for classic pitching and timing hitting. For anyone hesitant to use the classic/timing modes, I suggest you give it a shot. It's without a doubt the best modes you can use for a great "sim" experience in possibly the best sports game ever made

Are you playing as OAK? I have a side franchise apart from my LAD one with them, and they're notoriously bad at contact hitting. You'll get your HRs and some doubles, but that's a high strikeout and low average team unless you upgrade or go on a tear. That was my experience anyway.

After having finally picked up the game Im set to go with these sliders but one question, how are the pitch counts for both sides with the foul slider actually below default for the CPU and at default for the human?

Catching up on the thread a little and saw all of the discussion about hitting struggles etc.

Another approach to remedy chronic timing issues and too many K's (one that I had to implement myself), is to adjust your batting camera.

I believe what happens for me is that my eye/brain naturally want to swing at the point which the ball reaches the camera (in many of the default batting cameras the plane of where the camera would be is multiple feet behind the plane of home plate).

So, with the default camera setting, I was constantly late as the ball had crossed the plate yet hadn't reached that "trigger" point for my eyes yet, as the camera is pulled pretty far back from home.

By moving the camera forward a few notches (I currently use Offset Zoom for batting), I changed my timing simply by moving my eyes natural trigger point up.

All without tweaking sliders that can affect other parts of the game.

Well played my first game and had a blast, was able to draw 7 walks, work counts and chase Matt Cain after 5.1 and 113 pitches. Extremely small sample size obviously but drawing 7 walks in my first game on this years game is amazing in itself as I didnt do that once in the 100+ games I played on last years version. I need to get a bit better at hitting as I only recorded 6 hits but combined with the 7 walks I certainly had baserunners out there just couldnt bring them around to score. Ill keep posting feedback if its desired as I go but after 1 game (yes, I know, small sample size), Im really enjoying what Im seeing with these sliders.

I decided to ride things out, with the exception of moving to the "hybrid" batting sliders, and I determined that my issue with pitch counts was a sample size problem.

I've now seen plenty of games where my starter is just inaccurate or inefficient, driving pitch counts up early. I've seen the same for the opposition.

This game with these sliders is absolutely the best experience I've ever had wtih a sports game.

I agree 100%. I've never had this much fun in a sports game before using this hybrid slider set.

                            I'ts near perfection

Yeah, its a great game for sure. I started my second game before saving in the 6th inning but its playing out opposite of the first one as Ive only drawn one walk but did have 10 hits as a team chasing Bumgarner from the game regardless. Sitting in a 2-2 tie with SF I gotta get back to playing it but its nice that I feel like there is already variety only 2 games into my season when last years game seemed to lack variety at times.

Heck yeah, man. Wait till you get 80 games in. The variety will blow you away. I thought I'd hit 50 HR with Ramirez after 15 games or so because he was absolutely crushing the ball. After putting up 10 HR in the first 15-20 games or so, he sits at 13 at the All Star Break.

Kemp was hitting a craptastic .245 for the first 40 games but has slowly worked up to .268 while maintaining his power numbers.

Kershaw was absolutely unhittable for his first 4-5 starts and then got shelled for a few starts and is now back to normal.

I could go on and on, but man does it ever make the full season dramatic and compelling.

SF will be lots of fun. That pitching staff is so stinking amazing, and there's some speed on the team as well. Not much power, but you can draft for that or pick up a pinch hitter.
