Armor. Gotta say these sliders are making me want to play every single game. I just hit the all star break w/ the reds w your all star set. Reds are 1 game back of the cardinals, votto is tearing it up and jay Bruce leads the league in k's but also one of the league leaders in hrs and rbis. Tough to pitch in Cincinnati since its a hitters park but latos is 3rd in nl in era. Arroyo is hit or miss. If he's painting the corners with his fb and his curve is working, he can be dominant. Other days he gets rocked. I love these sliders and classic pitching. Only way to go now. Thanks again. This game is amazing.

So I have played over 65 plus games. I am pushing up fielder reaction to 6.

The trend has been too many routine grounders going through.

Although my games and season has been awesome so far, it was becoming too common.

I believe he increased it +2 from 4 to 6. It should be 6.

Time for me to go to the Hybrid set for a bit. I can't hit for crap on All-Star and I'm getting very frustrated.

This helps, trust me. I couldn't hit anything at All-Star and went to the Hybrid set. I really improved my hitting. At Veteran you'll get more hard-hit balls, more home runs, and less walks (the pitchers leave more balls over the center of the plate). But I used it for a few weeks. I'm back on All-Star and loving it.

I've found one of the keys with All-Star is that you have to be much more patient. Recognizing balls and strikes out of the pitcher's hand is crucial. You also have to make the pitchers bring the ball up. I had a horrible time swinging at strikes on the lower edge of the zone. Now when I'm ahead in the count, I just lay off those pitches.

You really have to get into a hitter's mindset a lot more with the All-Star set. I think they feel a lot more realistic and I felt I was squeaking out every hit, which was great.

Yeah, it's really my only option at this point. I am really struggling at the dish with 13. Swings are way early, due to playing 12 so much and having to really start your swing early to pull the baseball.

I can read pitches fine, it's just making contact isn't happening for me. I need to see that happen consistently. I look at moving to Veteran for hitting like being sent down to Triple A to work on my mechanics. Once I get that groove going, I can go back to All-Star.

I have used both A&S/ Marinos allstar and hitting sliders. I tried on allstar and hybrid. I have also throughout Show 13 playing over 100 games tried default all-star and TNK zone settings for hittng. My point is I have tried everything i could think of do help improve by hitting on Allstar.

The ONLY settings that have made the games fair have been the hybrid settings. In every other show before 13 it was always allstar hitting, so I felt I was too good for vet hitting ,but now its the only setting that gives me good realistic results. There is something odd about hitting this year, but A&S hybrid settings saved hitting for me. I was about the point of giving up, but my point is do not feel bad switching to vet hitting, it does not make the game easy like you would think. I do not seem to get as many HR using hybrid settings as I did on Allstar. I do get more doubles, triples etc however I also use the A's and they don't have any HUGE power number players, so thats probably the reason.

I agree with this. I've been going back and forth between TNK's and Armor's hitting sliders, and I've even came up with a hybrid between the two. I'm still having the same results....near the bottom of the league in every hitting category except for doubles. I've always been a Timing Hitting user since I started playing The Show in '09, but this year it's extremely frustrating. I play exclusively with the Dodgers, and it was scary how eerily similar my season was going compared with the Dodgers in real life. Granted, it's cool that it's so close to real life, but I don't think anybody expected the Dodgers to have the type of season that they have, and I've honestly never struggled with hitting the way I have this year. I'm a fairly patient hitter. I tend to work deep into most counts, and I hardly ever swing at the first pitch unless the situation calls for it. I average about 6-7 strikeouts per game, which isn't bad. I'm just not getting the hits that I've gotten in years past. I find it extremely frustrating that I'm almost halfway into my Dodgers franchise, and I'm still having to tweak sliders. Everything else I'm fine with. I've maybe adjusted things a couple of tweaks to suit my skill level. But hitting is IMO the most important facet of this game, and I can't get it right for the life of me.

I did switch to the Hybrid settings earlier in the year, and I just couldn't adjust the way I needed to. The main difference was the CPU pitcher's approach to hitters. It seemed like almost everything was over the plate, and I couldn't work the count like I'm able to on All-Star. It was almost like being forced to swing early in the count, which I'm definitely not used to. I found the CPU pitching at a really high strike percentage, even with the Strike Frequency slider at 1. I actually hit worse on Veteran, which is why I made the switch back up to All-Star. But then it goes back to my other issue: I'm able to work the count better on All-Star, but I'm not getting the number of hits or runs that I should be.

                          Very frustrated right now.

Thats sorta how it is for me itbeme23, expect I do hit better with Hybrid settings but I cant hit homeruns. With hybrid i get more singles, and doubles but homeruns are very very hard to come by.I score more on hybrid, than allstar but its hardly ever homeruns. On allstar settings using A&S or TNK does not matter I hit alot more homeruns, but i lack doubles, etc. It does not make a lot of sense but thats how it goes for me. I have tried to up solid hits to 4 on hybrid settings, but that makes it way too easy although i do hit more homeruns.

I know basing sliders settings on simply homeruns is not the right thing to do. Its just what i notice between allstar and hybrid.I just try to aim for the perfect blend of homeruns, singles, etc and having a lot of trouble finding it this year. I do know fielding and pitching are much better on A&S sliders, just wish I could find my perfect hitting settings. I still love Show 13, but just frustrated like you on trying to get hitting down this year.

So I switched back to Veteran using the Hybrid settings, because I'm now CONVINCED that I'm unable to hit on All-Star. From now on, any tweaks that I make to sliders will be on Veteran.

But, as I mentioned in my last post, it's exactly the way I remember it.

Andy Pettite: 7 IP, 8 Ks, 77% overall strikes, 75% first pitch strikes.

Please tell me that this isn't the norm for every pitcher.

I'm going to play a game against the Angels with Blanton (overall 80) on the mound. If he's pitching the same way Pettite did, I'm going to be pissed.

Believe me it's not. I get plenty of lousy outings from opposing pitchers, walks, wild pitches, first pitch balls.

                                Keep playing.
