Any chance of you guys sharing a spreadsheet with the essential info and ratings like Knight has done with the original OSFM rosters?

They ain't sharing nothing. This stuff is top notch secret & in lockdown like the FBI would do. LOL!

No plans for providing a spreadsheet like that. Too much data entry at this point and folks are ready to go on hiatus from all that. It would also extend the release date out by days if not weeks. People are welcome to make one from the roster once it drops if they are really into that.

I will say that release is looking like Friday at worst, but we are taking it a day at a time. Please no attempts to nail it down to a time/hour, or "but is Thursday night possible?" type questions...etc. You guys will have the roster in hand by this weekend.

Thanks for the reply--I thought it was possible that you might already have a spreadsheet that you could remove formulas from but wasn't considering the MiLB rerates.

The roster ratings are taken from Knights spreadsheet - the only difference is we only use A prospect sheets and we had to increase nbers from those charts as we found they did not completely match up this year

I know what you mean, but we tend to basically enter the ratings directly into the roster file as opposed to entering data into a massive spreadsheet only to re-enter it into the roster file.

We are guided by ZiPS projections and Knight's rating conversions (with tweaks), and Excel can calculate some things, but we take a more nuanced approach to determining ratings than just plugging into formulas. For example, we just don't believe a guy hitting .200 with a .230 BABIP should be rated that way if he's a career .265 hitter when BABIP is normal. Don't get me wrong, we have a giant Google doc that was well over 100 pages of tracking changes and edits, but nothing comprehensive like you are asking about.

If you are interested in tracking progression, just keep a copy of the original roster file around and you can compare ratings in your chise to the original. Sure, an intermediate spreadsheet would save a bunch of time, but you can also look up the few players you might be interested in really quickly.

I asked once about having this years draft class in it and was told they wouldn't be in. If I take those players from the vault and put them in how can I get them to fit into the rosters since you guys re rate players? Is there a generic minus 4 or 5 points off everything?

Some prospects actually have made it in. Off the top of my head: Rodon, Schwarber, Turner, Nola, Conforto, Pentecost, Greiner, Hill, Burdi. Our general rule was to include guys who would factor in sooner than later. Also, if roster spots opened up (like with the Price deal), we backfilled with draftees.

If you want to add in additional 2014 draft class, there's no real guidance I can give you. There is no 'generic' anything that you can add or subtract; this is a highly nuanced roster set. The players that we took were re-rated, but it was on an individual basis. Also, "rating" guys so inexperienced and with no stats is an inexact science to say the least. If anyone believes that you can really accurately do that, I have a few bridges I'd like to sell!

Long story short, if you import in other prospects, you will have to determine your own ratings for them. You can bump them down so their OVRs are where you want them or just keep them as is in the vault. Up to you.

Got to see Gordon play here locally once a few weeks back for the Elizabethton Twins. He looked like the prospect he was drafted to be. Speed & range was the main tools that I seen from him. He doesn't have as strong of an arm as I would have thought. I know he's still very young though. Seems to have great knowledge of the strike zone & fundamentals in the field are amazing for his age.

Teeds just curious i recall you said you added some missing AA twins ,Athletics pitching prospect is (twins)tyler duffey,pat dean,jason wheelers And (A's) Nate long ,Tanner peters are they included.As i stated on my previous post the roster are going to be release by september its so time consuming .
