Got tired of football. Was doing an indians franchise while back and really liked these sliders so gonna try a SF franchise this time and seee how it goes hopefully i can get strikeouts with johnny and mad and i have fastball at 3 and br ball at 5 as idk if i can do 7. Ya these are so great man good job and im sticking w/quick counts as they play so nice and 'quick' too. Without QC the games drag on and you need a lot of patience. Also QC is a lot more real becuz i usually first pitch grd out with QC off. Im hoping i wont get the 4 - 6 run comebacks i remember the ai had done sometimes wen i had been pitching great. I think i need help on the bullpen aspect and relievers, then again it is realistic for closers and relievers to choke games.

Re: True Game MLB Sliders
Just played two games with these and they look awesome. The one thing I want to point out is arm strength. I hit an inside the park homer at AT&T park because Addison Russell made the worst throw to home I have every seen. It was short and way to the right. Not even close. Also, I keep getting this "toss" animation with my infielders where I throw the ball and they do a normal throw animation but it rainbows. I'm not sure if this is because I have no throw meter, but it's annoying. The last thing is that base runners are so aggressive (auto base running), and I'm not sure if this is because of the arm strength. I threw out Fowler at home after he tried to stretch a triple into an inside the park homer, and it wasn't even close. I got thrown out at third trying to go first to third on a bunt, and was out by 60 feet.
Maybe these are just flukes, but I wanted to hear you feedback.Last edited by Daonlyjmo7; 10-11-2016, 09:29 AM.Check out my dynasty: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)Comment

Re: True Game MLB Sliders
I am currently out of the country and have been a little busy, so I have been off the system for a while. I plan to see what updates have been made and provide an update to the sliders. But as I mentioned before I think there was some form of tuning update, because since I started my second season it is different now for some reason after playing so well.Comment

I liked Veteran, but it felt a little less challenging, same thing with HOF pitching, it seemed like to CPU made contact and hit everything. I believe I am going to leave it at All-Star for both...

Re: True Game MLB Sliders
Awesome to hear guys I only play 50 games per season because I don't get that much time to play and I love the offseason more than anything. I also did something I have never done before this year because I got tired of playing with the Pirates. I did a fantasy draft where I didn't go for all big names I had a great mix of young players, mid level players and veterans. I am now in 2019 with the Texas Rangers and still haven't even made the playoffs and this year isn't looking much better....lol. I am getting ready to head into September and my record is 61-68. I will be playing 10 games in September and all the games in October. I am still in striking distance of a wild card birth but the Angels are running away with the division so there is no hope of catching them.
I made some big additions to my team last offseason as we were able to sign Bryce Harper and DJ LeMahieu and added Closer David Robertson along with Gio Gonzalez and Austin Jackson as a utility player. Going into September things don't go quite as planned as some of these players haven't lived up to the expectations.
The biggest free agent signing of course was Bryce Harper and although he is currently in a rough stretch he has hit .287 with 26 HR, 77 Runs and 74 RBI's. We will need BIG production from Bryce down the stretch to make the wild card.
Gregory Polanco has had a very tough year as he is hitting .265 with 12 HR's. 69 runs, and 60 RBI's. Polanco is striking out more than he has in the past. The highlight for the year is Polanco is tied for 3rd in the AL with 8 triples.
D.J. LeMaheiu who I signed in the offseason to a 5yr/79m deal has lived up to the hype as he has hit for .311 with 161 hits 6 HR's, 61 Runs and 46 RBI's. He is currently 9th in the AL in Batting Average, 3rd in Hits, 6th in Doubles and 7th in Triples.
Jose Abreu who is in his last year of his contract is having a strong year with 24 HR's, 55 runs, and a team leading 89 RBI's. Jose is 5th in the Al in RBI's.
Josh Bell is having the worst season of his young career as he is hitting .222 with 5 HR's 22 Runs and 23 RBi's. He has battled injuries this year and only appeared in 81 games so far. We really need Josh to get hot down the stretch.
The Pitching staff has struggled with injuries all year but the bright spot has been Jameson Taillon as he is 10-5 with a 3.68 ERA and 177 K's. Taillon has posted 2 complete game shutouts this year! He is currently 9th in the AL with K's.
Chris Archer is his normal dominate self in strikeouts with 197 K's but as usual he has innings where he melts down and for some reason when Archer pitches the team doesn't score enough as he is 8-10 with a 3.36 ERA. Archer Currently leads all AL pitchers with 197 K's.
Jerad Eickhoff has been on FIRE his last 5 starts but overall he is 7-10 with a 4.27 ERA and 153 K's.
Gio Gonzalez was such a disappointment I traded him at the trade deadline.
The Bullpen is the strength of our team.
David Robertson - 38 saves with a 2.66 ERA and 2-2. Currently 5th in the Al in Saves
Michael Kirkman has been remarkable out of the bullpen as a middle to long reliever posting a 2.02 ERA with 87 K's in 86 innings and a 5-4 record.
Dellin Betances is arguably one of the best set up men in baseball as he has posted a 2.19 ERA and struck out 71 batters in just 59 innings.
Next post will break down the stats of the team heading into September.

Re: True Game MLB Sliders
Thank you for all your hard work on these sliders and the card idea is amazing... I have played other guys sliders on here and they are great sliders but, I am the type of guy that plays all his games, they become repeative at times and no fun...well with that excellent format that you have with the deck of cards every game is different... I now dread going on the road, I get excited for that long home stand... I am going to but my stats here and I know they are a very small sample size (12 games).
Avg- .224 (29th)
Runs- 35 (24th)
Hits- 87 (28th)
Doubles- 6 (30th)
Triples- 1 (18th)

Re: True Game MLB Sliders
I have been a great fan of the MLB series for years. I have done plenty of testing and modifications with this year's sliders. Slider sets in this forum offered great starting points and suggestions which I tweaked with my own settings. Just finished the Season 90-72 with Baltimore. Stats and other data provided on page 2. Only made a few modifications based on the season and talking with others to include FENWAY.
Season 2 is underway current record 26-25 (Updated 23 September 2016)
I had a few other people I know test it and they like the process, so I thought I would share it with the community. Testing and play is on the PS4 system.
I play on the following Settings:
All-Star Hitting and Pitching (with the exception of modifiers to VET/HOF games)
Auto fielding and base running
Quick Counts - Adds more realism and pressure when you come to the plate with various pitch counts etc. and it works well with pitch. stamina and realistic pitch counts. (51 games in testing next 50 without QC)
Directional hitting - Haven't messed to much with zone, so I cannot report on that. FENWAY has more data on this if you are interested in Zone Hitting.
Hot Zones Off - Still trying to gather more data on this and may test during preseason next year when I start the 2017 Season after the playoffs. Will try to collect some data from FENWAY. What is general thought on this? ON or OFF; does it make a difference and how does it impact the game? Still undecided and I am not sure now is the time to test since I just did an entire season with this slider set with it off. If it helps the game I would like to hear so. But if it is more challenging with it off then so be it. - Decided to leave this off. Sort of a distraction as well.
The same sliders apply to both the CPU and Human players:
Contact: Human 9 and 7 for CPU (See Timing Below)
Power: 4
Timing: 6 for Human and 4 for CPU: After talking with some others I decided now to change it for the start of my next season for the CPU. A Timing of 6 for the CPU increased the number of hits/batting average from when this was tested at the midway point of the season. The CPU batted @ 25-28 points higher as a result. Undecided if I should provide a +1 mod to the CPU for timing, but with 4 they are hitting the ball pretty well on the base line so I can fine where it is at for now. Will continue to monitor. (Decided on 4 after conducting further testing on some other slider recommendations and friends info. 4 works great and the CPU is still hitting the ball, but now not at such a high rate and now there is an up tick in K's as well. I believe with lowering the Foul Freq to 4 from 5 assisted as well. I would have to agree with BradyPunch and after looking at MrJeffreys2000 box scores that I now have decided to place the timing back a 4 for the CPU and leave it at 6 for Human.
Foul Fr: Human 5 and CPU 4 (See above)
Solid H: Human 5 and CPU 4 (this plays in to the base hits. I thought 4 was a good place, but there must have been a patch because I noticed that players were not getting a good solid hit across the board CPU and Human. After testing a Solid Hit of 5 reconfirmed by stats from last season when I originally started the CPU at 5. Bottom line is they hit everything any where on 5 it seems like. I made some additional changes to the spread sheet and they are fine at 4. I believe the CPU is averaging between 9-10 hits per game against me currently. Allowing of a Solid hit of 5 will allow for better percentage of solid hits and open the game up a little for the human player.
St Stam: 5
R Stam: 3
P Contr: 4 (Decided after some thought and suggestions to leave this at 4)
P Cons: 3
CSTR Fr: 4
CPU HK: 6
Pick Off: 5
BR SPd: 4
Errors: 5 (both I/O throwing and fielding)
Field Spd: 0 (I know what you think but when I tested this theory from another slider tester I was impressed and the fielders still get to the ball, but not the super human speed to track every fly ball hit into the gap or OF.)
I/O Arm: 4
FLD Reac: 4 (Plays a key role in singles through the hole - Separates the really good infielders from the average players on hot shots down the line and in the hole. Reduce no lower than 3 or you will take away of the game)
Steal Ab/Fr: 8/7
Pitch spds : 7 (for both)
Injury: 6 in April/May and 5 remainder of season. 7 was too high and injuries were about 3-4x higher. 6 appears to be about right, but I have noticed an uptick in injuries since the update, will continue to monitor. Will use that for April and May and 5 from that point on. I turn injuries off during Pre-season.
Trade: 4 Increased to 5 in May, 6 in June, and 7 in July of each season until spring training.
Great game play to say the least across the board. Stats are in-line with MLB averages that I compared between 2000 to 2016.
I went a step further and added a system which will add modifiers each game to the base-line settings. I have provide below a spread sheet, and also attached it, which detail which slider is increased or decreased. When I experimented I was amazed that every game was now different and presented an entirely new challenge rather than sticking with the base-line sliders as I have done and I am sure as all of you have done now and in the past.
To explain I took a deck of cards including the 2 Jokers (54 cards) to explain:
1. I assigned a modifier value to each card.
2. Once I start the game I go into the sliders option and I draw 3 cards from the deck, after a good shuffle. 3 cards has been working great and looks like it provides just the right mix of modifiers.
3. I take those modifiers and apply them to the base-line stats and follow my minimums and maximums.
4. Once the game is over I reset the sliders to the original base line value.
Doing this creates a new game you could say each time with a new challenge and depending on who you match up against and opens the doors for exciting game play and opportunities. There are minimums and maximums so things don't get too crazy and adds some spark and variety and what I noticed over the course of the season up and downs that True MLB teams experience.
Decided I couldn't do with out the modifiers. The game seemed a little dry without them. I enjoyed the variety and decided I will play my 2017 season using the updated modifier list that I have attached. Added in now are modifier for Home, Visit, Human, and CPU. After talking it over with some others I decided to go with 3 cards instead of 4. I am thinking about coming up with a system for Madden 2017 as well.
Updated the spreadsheet. Added home and visitor modifiers that will be applied accordingly. If anyone has any other ideas please let me know. Just looking to add some variety and challenges to the game.
Got some feedback to redefine the spread sheet and it is now updated as of 9/23/2016. It highlights the top row for the all 5 modifiers. If you choose not to play on all fives for top row sliders then just play a straight up game. As I mentioned in my post page 7 or 8, I am testing to see what results I get, if it is out of control or unrealistic please let me know so I can remove that card and change it to another.
With the recent changes to the baseline state, in addition the black Joker +1 Pwr, I put only have 1 chance for the visiting the CPU and Human to get a +1 power and contact and PiControl (2% chance per game). In addition to the red Joker +1 Pwr, Human players will get 3 chances for a +1 pwr and 3 chances for +1 contact. With that said:
Home teams naturally bat better at home the MLB average this year so far is as follows: MLB Home team BA .259; MLB Visiting team BA .252. For example Baltimore in real life is batting .266 at home and .252 away, 14 points lower, where there opponents bat .257 in B-more and .265 at home.
I also added some increases to the pitching modifiers because like batting teams tend to pitch better at home as you can see from the difference in BA and also ERA (4.04 Home; 4.38 Away) Slider modifiers should open this up a little to create some separation between batting better at home vs. away. I will report my findings when I have the data when reaching a certain point in the season
Please feel free to share your thoughts...
Ready to try these.... Have a few questions... In the modifier chart, what does the all 5's mean for the 9 of spades? What does that takeaway L mean in 8 of hearts and clubs? Also, when hitting do you use normal swing only? And lastly, probably doesn't matter to you, but what pitching style are you using?Comment
