On another note I am seeing an alarming trend with wild pitches being blocked by catchers properly, but resulting in base runners who are rated 50 speed and below walking to second and third with no fear of being thrown out.

    It is a major trend.

While I love the fact that catchers are not popping and pouncing like cheetahs anymore, the by-product of this adjustment has been them not having any urgency in even attempting to get the ball a little quicker and the result is this. It is making pitching with men on base a lot tougher this season. I love to get filthy with 0-2 and 1-2 counts typically and try to get batters to chase, but the flip side is now you are taking a major chance at a dirt ball and base runners moving with ease.

I can live with 70 or higher speed rating runners getting good reads and taking off. But when I see 25-30 speed rated guys waltzing into bases on balls in the dirt.....it is an issue.

I can't ignore it. So I will see if turning down base-runner speed down to 2 (and countering base stealing ability up one more for true basestealers) can be the balance we need to cure this or at least curb the success ratio for average to below average speed on the base paths.

    Stay tuned folks!!!

I play with your sliders except fielder speed base runner speed. I have each of those at a 1 & last several games have been great. May even lower both to zero

Thought the same all last cycle. Used offset zoom which is a great camera. But I wanted to freshen up 16 in my last month with it. It took me about 20 games to adjust. Now I love it.

Got smoked in first game using these sliders. Only 2 hits . First lost of season haha. They are good. Just need bit tweaking and maybe just sucked first game

Do I have to use directional or can I use zone hitting? Also can I use meter or do I need to use classic for pitching?

You can use whatever you desire just know I test and develop these exclusively playing on Directional hitting and classic pitching.

              Couple questions for you guys.

First, I have only experimented this year with RTTS. I have not played franchise yet as I am awaiting the awesome OSFM rosters. I cannot recall if I used this sliders last year or some other. Therefore, I am using the perfomanced based difficulty currently.

The only thing I currently have adjusted is the batters view. I like the way the game plays currently. I do not use other views. I also typically field myself. With that being said. Do you guys feel like these sliders would still work well for me? Let me know if I need to provide any other info on the way I play. I do like realistic stats and I typically play about 1 out of 5 games (I roll a 6 sided die to determine which pitcher I will start in the rotation and sim the rest. A six means I sim all five games.)

I have turned off controller vibration!! And it is glorious.

If you are an advanced classic All-Star pitcher and want a true challenge.

No ball marker no controller vibration.

Another great function of the Catcher Offset Camera is that you will get a perfect down-the-middle view when you are matched up with a lefty-righty or righty-lefty respectively.

When you have a right-righty matchup, you get a great view of the inside edge of the strikezone, but your outside edge is, well, "offset".

This makes for a great opportunity in the latter innings, when you are pinch hitting, to utilize your matchups for the most advantageous batting view.

Love this game, just love it.

Armor the sliders play great as always..I have a question about pitch speeds though..on 5 fastball and 7 off speed I'm early on everything and it cuts down on the hit variety I'm seeing but I do strike out a decent amount has even been double digits in games..I raised both speeds in increments and noticed much better hit variety and not early on everything but striking out on average less then 5 times again on fastball 8 and off speed 10...just wondering why 5 and 7 are highly recommended and if the separation of 2 is necessary you think??thanks for helping to get the most out of this game again this year

Armor will tell you that pitch speeds are very much a personal preference. I've personally settled on 4 and 6 (instead of 5 and 7) as I am using a different camera angle.

These are truly settings that you have to cater for yourself as it incorporates factors like your skill, TV used (due to varying input lag values), camera angle, etc.

His OP values work best for him (and likely for many others), but I was behind on everything so I had to adjust. Like with every slider, you have to let things settle-in over a number of games.

I do think that the offset between fastball and offspeed pitch sliders helps cut down on what is traditionally too large of a velocity differential in pitch speeds in this game. But, if you're always ahead on one and behind on the other, you might need to adjust that gap.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I will be streaming another 2017 test franchise game right after it as well.

I start my breaking balls most of the time much higher than I want them to end up. When you get to know your pitchers well. You will learn where the best starting point is for each one of their pitches and how it breaks. This is another reason I love this game so much. Each pitcher is different!

I have hit 8 home runs in 6 games with Freddie Freeman..it makes me a little worried but I'll stick with it and see if with larger sample size it evens out. I have a total of 13 home runs and have given up 9 in the 6 games. Some of the home runs I find ridiculous though based on where the pitch is and it wasn't good timing. Ill.keep at it as I'm having fun.
