      Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

I'm having issues with pitchers hanging a ton of balls, and I'm not sure what to do. I'm appearntly not the best pitcher, I allowed 15 hits to Pirates and 7 runs. The first game I allowed 12 hits and 5 runs.

I seem to do fine until I throw a breaking ball occasionally and it hangs and goes down hill. I always throw my breaking balls low too.

Would I need to raise pitcher control to 5 or should I stick with where it's at and just keep practicing with classic pitching?

Stick with Classic Pitching because it's the most realistic, most rewarding, and most punishing experience u can have. It definitely goes by "feel" and you'll get the hang of it.

Breaking balls are tricky and they should be. If they were easy to command, Clayton Kershaw wouldn't be elite the way he is.

Because I know I need the confidence meter to be full for breaking balls, I start a lot of hitters off with a first pitch, down the middle strike with a breaking ball. It's mostly taken, rarely swung at, and even more rarely ever hit very hard when it is hit.

Keep in mind that many pitchers have to completely "shelve" a pitch when it's not working. The Show emulates that very well. Just because pitcher has 4 or 5 pitches, it doesn't mean he's going to be effective with them all

Absolutely love the sliders. Awesome job with these. I tried other slider sets on here in the past, it never felt that It was level in that I felt I always had the edge.

I use classic pitching with the marker on, I still get good results, I just like the know my pitches starting point, I still walk people and get shelled too.

My main issue is the curveball, every curveball looks so enticing to launch 500 feet, either I take the curveball and it floats in the strike zone, or I swing and it ends up in lower part of the strike zone (if not out) I know I need to work on that, but overall the game feels amazing.

Excellent work, as always! Finally feel like I have the hang of hitting in this game, the trick was to zoom the Fish Eye camera in a couple notches. It gives me a great view of each pitch.

I play with the Orioles, and I've had a great mix of games. Good number of home runs, with a good number of strikeouts. Had a game the other day where I couldn't get a hit for the life of me, and played one last night where I hit 6 HRs in Fenway. With the zoomed Fish Eye camera, I've been squaring up both fastballs and breaking balls. The feeling when you put a hanging curveball in the seats? Wow. So rewarding.

Distance on HRs has been OK, with the exception of the 540+ foot HR I hit with Chris Davis in Fenway last night on a hanging slider. The rest have been around 400-ish feet.

The lower fielder speed has just taken these to the next level. It is subtle, but the impact was immediate and obvious. It is such an improvement that I immediately traded for Jake Marisnick in my ChiSox franchise I started last night because having that elite defensive cf is now going to be so key...like real life.

What was changed from v2.0 on the frontpage?
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust 'em.

First of all, love the sliders, Armor! I also like the clean screen look. In fact, I just started playing with the runner windows off as well. This forces me to use R2 to look over at a runners lead. I think it adds to the realism of taking some of your attention away from the batter. Have you ever tried doing this? I have been playing without ball marker or vibration for a few years now, but I just ran across the Runner Windows and it adds some immersion.

So I always did QC cause that would help me with taking walks and makes it more real for me. But with this manager hook issue I'm going to turn QC off. How does people usually go with hitting? Do you always take the first pitch? I need to learn to take more pitches obviously. On QC, I would only walk if I started with 2 or 3 balls. Maybe a couple times I would work the count back and take a walk. Usually I can work the count but then the last slider outside will get me after taking the last 2 or 3 pitches.
