The left stick is in the position I want pre-pitch and stays in that position through the swing.

        I do the following:

Power Swing - I hold the stick up to 12 o'clock if I am sitting dead red fastball with a power swing in mind with a great power hitter in 0-0 counts, 3-1 counts or 3-0 with a green light. I typically use the power swing with these types of hitters when no one is one base, leading off an inning in a tie game/one run game or game I am leading in. Also will occasionally do this with no one on and 2 outs.

Normal Swing - Left with a lefty against the shift (no one on) sitting on outside and lower half pitches as well as middle in pitches (where I want to go opposite field) in 0-0 counts, 2-0 counts 3-1 counts. Right with a righty to go opposite field same situations.

Contact Swing - Pressing the left stick up to 12 o'clock and looking to simply elevate the ball for a sac fly or if the infield is in.

Contact Swing - pressing the stick down to 6 o'clock to move a runner from second to third or third to home on a ground ball.

Wow!! Look at my friggin strike % 63!! No vibration may have just cured the only stat I could never reproduce realisticly in 10 years!! I walked 5 total one intentional. Thank you to Josh1977 and Armor for suggesting this.. Very small sample I know but i'm excited with these immediate results! CPU was at 62%

Ok guys y'all are making it difficult as hell to do my job efficiently now!! LMAO I'm sitting at my desk watching the clock wishing I was at home with the wife making fun of me for oooooing and ahhhhhing over this beautiful game that Armor & Marino make even better with their sliders every year, and now needing to be home to cut vibration off to make it even better. I was convinced when I turned it off last night that it couldn't possibly get any better. Thanks to Josh and Armor for always looking into making an already great game even greater!!!

I just played a hell of a game. Playing some play now games waiting for OSFM. but I was the rockies at home vs the Padres. Chatwood v. Cahill. Wanted to see what would happen with bad pitchers in a hitters park after having a few pitchers duels recently. And boy was it epic. I won 10-9 on a Trevor Story walk off in the bottom of the 14th.

Game played and felt great. i had 2 homers from Story and they had 1 for Margot in 14 innings! My strike percentage was 71% and their's was 63%. I struck them out 12 times and walked 4 and they struck me out 9 times and walked me 6 times. best game of video game baseball I've played in forever. Granted I use metered pitching and vibration because i'm not quite ready to make the classic switch but the game still played great. I chased ut Cahill after 2 2/3rds leading 8-3. Padres Chased out Chatwood after 5 making it 8-5. They tied it vs qualls and went up 9-8 in the bottom of the 9th. I tied it with a Desmond single. Then we went to 14 and Story finished it going 3-7 with 2 HRs.

Gotta say I'm really loving this game with your sliders. Just tried my first game without vibration and gotta say I'm loving it. Had to quit after 5 innings as it 1.23am here in the UK and I'm tired after work but I'm loving it so much.

So is there a way to turn the vibration off just for pitching (buzzing near the edge of the strike zone)? Or are you guys turning vibration off for everything to make this happen?

Vibration off goes for everything. Stealing, selecting a runner on the base path, the pitchers windup, everything.

Alright so this is what I'm rolling with for RTTS modified from these sliders. All sliders from the CPU and all Human pitching sliders are the same:

                        Contact: 5
                        Power: 4
                        Timing: 4
                        Foul Frequency: 3
                        Solid Hits: 3
                        Fielder Run Speed: 3
                        Baserunner Speed: 2
                        Steal Ability: 3

The speed and stealing sliders were changed to make stealing more difficult and result in closer steal attempts as stealing in RTTS is ridiculously easy. The hitting differences are because i didn't have an issue with these before (v1.5 I believe) and I felt the hitting was perfect. I don't have any data to suggest changing the hitting sliders, it was really a personal choice to stick with these, but I definitely suggest the speed and stealing changes for RTTS.

                          Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

I’m not very good at this game, so have always used sliders heavily in my favor.
Decided to use your slider set, but first bring them down to my level.

I hit on veteran and pitch on all star and manual fielding…..and am struggeling with your sliders.
I decided to make timing 1 click easier, and fastball speed 1 click lower.

So far I have only played 2 games, but already enjoyed them more than all games before that.
I still have enough power, but strike out more.
This is due to me swinging at wrong pitches.
I did manage to get into a few hitters counts and then getting a hit. It is much more rewarding than simply upping all sliders in my favor.

I’ll continue using them and once I get better I’ll simply adjust them to keep the game challenging.

So, thanks for a great set.

Changed my camera closer to the strike zone (was way zoomed out before because i liked to see more of the pitch) and my "always early on the swing" problem is gone!

Now im getting good timing, along with the late timing... what a difference the camera makes!

I think that im basically set with the sliders now!

                            Thanks Armor!

                              Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

Another fantastic game last night with these sliders, and I am about ready to lock it down on the eve of the OSFM Rosters being inbound.

Redsox travel to Detroit with knuckleballer Steven Wright on the hill. Can I give a virtual high-five to the SDS team, for actually being able to see Wright have a knuckleball grip versus a fastball grip, when pitching from Broadcast view. Thank you for that detail being included.

The Wright show ended in the second inning, however, when he grabbed at his side, and had to be removed from the game with an injury. Long reliever Joe Kelly came in and pitched very well, but in the end, the Tigers walk off on a slicing single in the bottom of the ninth.

Red Sox tied it in the top half of the ninth with a pitch-hit 2R HR from Chris Young, with F-Rod blowing the save, but earning the win...

HR's from Cabrera, which was a majestic shot, and I tried to sneak a fastball by him with Wright. Also Iglesias hit a HR, and for the Sox, Moreland and Young went bingo in the 8-6 loss.
                              ******************

I have made my last adjustment to the fielder speed, and I am going with 2 as the speed. With this game's ball physics just shining like fluorescent beacon in the night, it seemed like it was negated by fielders covering more ground than they could in real life, and everyone in Centerfield was Willie Mays.

With Fielder Speed moved down to "2" and leaving the Fielder Reaction at "4", you get a real sense of the ratings being a contributing factor to the outcome. The other great thing about this fielder speed, is that the user needs to make three really smart decisions as a player/manager/controller.

You will absolutely need to make smart decisions about the situational positioning of your defensive crew. The fact the game allows you to move individual players is a huge help, when Pablo Sandoval moves like a woolly mammoth in the La Brea tar pits. You can shift the defense to the left, but he will need to hug the line, as he is NOT going to steal a hit on a rope down the line. Xander might be able to get to a ball in the hole, but Panda is a liability, and needs to be moved as such.

You had better make a good read, and get a good jump on the ball. No more running a 4.2 forty towards a ball at a 90 degree angle, and cutting it off. You will need to quarter away from that line drive in the gap, and play smart angles. I looooooove the fact that you'll be cramming that L-stick til your thumb cramps, and your guy is only as fast as he is... brilliant.

The third factor is my favorite, and most realistic part of the this speed adjustment. LATE GAME DEFENSIVE SUBSTITUTIONS!! It finally, finally, matters in the later stages of the game, to have better, faster, and higher rated defenders in the game. Last night, I had Chris Young in right field after he pinch hit, and although Mookie would not have gotten to the game winner anyway, I realized that I had made a defensive decision I was nervous about. How much more can you ask for from a game, where if you are controlling the fielders, you actually second guessing your pinch-hit decision, based on hurting your overall defense?

I plan on another 2-game test tonight, and will finalize the entire set of sliders, and I think that if you control the fielders and the throwing when you play, these will prove to be super-fun, super realistic, and nerve-wracking.. all at the same time.

I can say this. Between the lowered control of your pitcher, the increase in the contact by the CPU, the new ball physics, and the speed of the fielders playing a HUGE role in the outcome (also based on the specific player attributes), you won't be winning games sitting in your chair and playing on cruise control.

You'll have to earn every hit, every sacrifice, and play with the guile of a crafty veteran skipper.

Console Baseball gamers rejoice... We have found our Mecca!

So I know it is way too small of a sample...But I am 4 games into my Reds season and I am seeing way too many HRS.
I have hit 12 HRS so far.
Duvall has hit 4, Votto 2, Mesoraco 3, Suarez 1, and Cozart 1.
I have allowed 13 HRS in the 4 games.
It seems to me almost every fly ball ends up in a HR.
And they are all no doubt bombs.
This is not a knock on the slider set either, I love this game and this set every year.
it just seems this year the HRS are way too easy to hit.
