I have to disagree with fielder speed 2. I played about 20 games with it at 2 and it always looked the same. The ball looked like it would go in the the gap and the sludge moving outfielder glides over to catch it. Fielders have a sluggish move (like a slow down animation) and then a glide to the ball that looks like it should have already been past him. Its just a strange looking motion/animation. I believe 3 is the absolute minimum you can go.

There are quite a few other slider sets on OS that have a lower fielder speed than 3. You might want to check the whole slider thread for something that fits your style. I did the same and for the first time this year I decided to create my own sliders thanks to the hard work and initial testing that these guys do. FYI I have my fielder speed set at 4 and see no problem with it. Game tweaking is a very subjective beast!

            Pompous, ignorant response.

Why when ANYONE posts something on a slider thread that goes against what the topic creator says, that topic creator writes a whiney, rude, I'm better than you response? Every time.... get over yourself......

You should really read through the whole thread before you make this kind of statement. Armor has always been helpful and far from whiney and rude and has NEVER claimed that he is better then anyone else in here. To come in here and make such a comment is WHINEY and RUDE of YOU.

CPU contact should already be on 6 according to the OP. As for the timing, if that helps make the game more enjoyable for you, I say do it. I don't see the need to up it, but that's just my opinion.
Ok thanks for the response. My playing time is vey limited. I remember HUM Timing @ 6 for me on All Star seemed to be the sweet spot for me....as it cut down on my HUM hitting strikeouts. Thanks for response !!

No problem. Just to add to my earlier comment, I have never been one to mess with timing. That is why I never change it nor really can have a opinion on it.

If you got something constructive to add to the discussion then by all means please do. Coming in, claiming that a slider should be set one way and the only reason anyone wouldn't is if they like "arcade" baseball and offering nothing else isn't constructive in the least. If you disagree with someone's settings then move along, there is no need to drop in slider threads to try and point out how your setting is better then someone elses.

So I made a trade finally for a SP and let me say when not using 30 team control it can be tough to even be realistic. I tried to offer Oakland 2 "A" prospects and a "B" prospect for him but because they are, for whatever reason looking for other positions they declined. However they were willing to take Alex Liddi, Ariel Miranda (B Prospect) and Steve Cishek. The logic makes little to no sense but whatever, instead of 2 A's and a B they got 2 B's and an aging RP. I was willing to overpay for Gray, even though I really don't see a reason to overpay too much considering there is no way he should be resigning in Oakland if he wants to win anytime prior to hitting 30 years old and he amounts to a potential rental but I get the idea of overpaying for a trade inside the division. I had it down to him or Teheran but Atlanta wanted a kings ransom, I assume because he had 3 years left of control I assume.

Losing Miranda, regardless of his struggles, is going to hurt. The guy is a high B, already has a nice 70 H/9 rating, the only things he needs to improve are his control and cut down on the long ball and he will be a stud. I just couldn't take 3 LHP in the rotation and Paxton and Smyly weren't going anywhere so Miranda was the odd man out.

I'm sure I'll get destroyed that it wasn't a realistic trade but like I said when I tried to give them 2 A prospects they declined. On top of that, Sonny Gray is a nice piece but he isn't a out and out stud, he's only rated an 82. I won't dare post this in the trade thread lol, I'm sure the blowback would be monumental if I did.

I am really enjoying the move to HOF pitching. I was too dominate on all star and now on HOF, I feel like no lead is safe. Before if I scored 3 runs I knew i won now I can score 7 and it's not necessarily safe. I have gotten killed and have thrown a CG 1 hit shutout. I like the challenge and the realism. Thanks for the hard work with these.

After 3 attempts at starting a franchise, I finally got these sliders loaded in and working. 2 things.. I use HOF meter pitching and I feel like Accuracy on 3 and Consistency on 5 is perfect. If you can land the meter accurately you will pitch well but I like it to depend on that. With the consistency any lower you can miss the target by a smidge and give up a long ball. The other concern I have with directional hitting is Human Power. I use X to swing 80% of the time and I'm not hitting as many HRs as the CPU or the league as a team. I don't want to boost the power cause it's cheap but what's the trick at hitting HRs. I'm the Yankees so HRs should be there.. Let me know and excellent job on this slider set!

HR's depend a lot on the timing of your swing. If you time something on the black perfectly, you'll have a chance. The other variable is pitch location. The closer to middle middle it is, the better chance you have at hitting one out. Located on the four corners is harder but not impossible. Look for your pitch, in your location, and work counts to get the pitcher to throw you more hittable pitches. Think of the situation as well. If they want a double play and there is a runner on first creating a hole on that side, look down and in to a right handed batter and you'll hit some rockets.

At least in this man's opinion....that seems reasonable. All three players are major leaguers and Miranda has a lot of upside and is already established (and depending on the roster being used, Liddi has some nice bat skills). IMO, an "A prospect" is still a prospect...not a reality. Add into the equation the fact that Sonny isn't the player he once was and his contract status....

Would this have happened in real life? Maybe not. But I don't feel like you took advantage of the CPU either.
