Everyone else minus those 2 has been fairly solid, although Storen came over and gave up a HR in each of his first 2 appearances lol, his last outing was clean however.

Thanks for the suggestions, I know the three most popular pitchers listed in the trade thread are Gerritt Cole, Chris Archer and Sonny Gray but Gray would cost too much being inter-divisional and same for Cole and Archer so I'm just looking for a solid but unspectacular veteran that I can bring in to provide some innings and not completely **** the bed.

Incredibly I was offered Jeremy Hellickson in April for Mason Williams ("C" rated OF prospect) and 1B Chris Carter in my Yankees franchise. He is not an Ace but a serviceable veteran with an expiring contract. Make a fair offer for him.

Go for another closer so you can use Edwin Diaz in the Andrew Miller role. He has good stamina good ratings for a closer.

Armor ... I'm struggling to find the perfect roster to start my chise with considering these are the perfect sliders to use.

What roster did you rock with? I see everyone posting about their chises and I'm still here trying to figure out what roster to use.

I love shiny new things so every new roster I want to use and it just keeps me from playing the actual game.

The OP has a list of good rosters for this set. I'm using the OSFM 1.0 with closer and 40 man

Yeah I've considered him as Philly has had him sitting on the trade block all season it seems, he must be one of those guys that the CPU shops in every franchise. I'll look deeper into him and see what it might take to get him. I figure I can suffer through with one rookie until Iwakuma comes back but having 2 in the rotation is making it extremely difficult to win games consistently. With a huge series coming up with the division leading Angels, knowing they swept me back in early June, I need the pitching to step up as the Angels are top 5 in the majors in ERA.

I'd consider that but I need a long reliever and Diaz isn't anywhere near able to fill that role. I basically need 2 SP's with the second one being ok as the long reliever and doesn't complain about not being in the rotation. My bullpen outside of LRP is fairly set and both Ryan Cook and Drew Storen work fine in the 7th-8th setup roles with Evan Scribner holding down the 6th if need be or can step in for the 7th or 8th if need be. My issue is if my SP comes out and ****s the bed early I'm screwed as I either have to wear my bullpen out or watch Gallardo pour gasoline on the fire, or in other words it's a guaranteed loss. If you've seen any of my streams you'll notice that if a SP get's shelled early I leave him out there to take his lumps lol, I refuse to wear out my bullpen and Gallardo won't do any better so might as well hope the SP rights the ship at that point and I'd like to remedy that.

Have you combed the free agent list to see if there's anyone decent out there? Maybe you can snag an unsigned mid 70's rated pitcher.

Yeah I did that and the best SP out there is 70 rated John Danks I believe who isn't much better then Cody Martin so didn't see the point in signing a guy that's at best a marginal upgrade over who I already got and after him it's a steep drop off to the next guy.

Well..maybe overalls are the same, but you might get a similar overall pitcher who is maybe weak on K/9 but is above average on H/9 and BB/9. For a long reliever, that isn't a bad package...and they can be better than those guys who are merely average on all 3 of those ratings...but have similar (or even worse) overalls.

I promise I'm not trying to be difficult lol. I saw Walden in there but isn't he more of a middle reliever? I'm not in front of the game so can't check his stamina but I need my LRP to be an innings eater when necessary while not pouring the proverbial gasoline on the fire.

Ohh I know, overalls aren't the end all be all and I'll take a guy with a high H/9 rating but low K/9 rating as a SP over a guy with the opposite set of skills. I am fairly sure, and again without the game in front of me I could be wrong, but Danks had a low 50's H/9 rating and if my memory is correct that would be why I lost interest in signing him. Yovani Gallardo already has those "skills" as both give up hits at an alarming rate so didn't see a point in bringing in a clone of what I already got which isn't working in it's current form anyways.

Appreciate all the help fellas. I was hopeful someone had done some research on middle of the road SP's in the last year of their deal, preferably older so the asking price wouldn't be high and I'd prefer a higher H/9 rating over K/9. Maybe I'm looking for something that doesn't exist but figured I'd ask since everyone seems pretty knowledgeable in here and might have looked into similar pitchers for their own teams.

I don't remember off the top of my head Chef. I'm at work so I can't tell ya. I don't think he is more then a 30 stamina guy though. I'll look when I get home in just under 2 hours. If he is a LRP type, I'll respond back.

Have you thought about maybe a couple 2 inning guys who are decent and can stretch .1 or .2 longer in an outing? I had a situation like that where I needed my RP's to give me an extra out or 2 when they came out to pitch.

I'm fairly sure he is a MRP type pitcher.

I hadn't thought about that but I don't have the room on my roster to carry an extra pitcher above what I already got to accomodate that. I'd even consider putting Cody Martin as the LRP if I can find a SP to throw into the rotation but he's a tricky pitcher, if his slurve is working he is exceptional but when it's not he becomes a fastball/cutter pitcher and he gets shelled.

Jordan Walden is a MRP. I signed him in my Pirates franchise and he does really good for me and I actually put him as my set up guy. So he could replace Vincent for you.

Just a quick question for peace of mind. Does anyone else not use the left thumb stick and bat only by hitting x ( ps4, directional) ,or is that just me? should i be using the left thumb stick or does it matter.

I pretty much only press x to swing unless I'm looking for a sac fly or am trying to stay out of the double play. I pretty much never try and influence pull or opposite field, if I wanna pull a ball I just look inside and wait and if I wanna go opposite field I do the same.
