Oh yeah for sure. Imo the ball comes off the bat like it did before the first patch. But the sound is definitely a big deal and is perfect again. Thank God. It was driving me crazy. But man it plays so smooth.

Armor, quick question, if I raised CPU Pitch Control to default in your opinion would that help with the meatballs the CPU seems to throw so often? To piggy back off that, if I raise it do you figure it would also drastically reduce the amount of walks I get? I'm extremely close to raising it just to see but figured Id ask in case you already tested it there when the game first came out.

Looking to reduce meatballs and ease of walks....I would probably look at consistency more than control....

I had same problem with too many meatballs and couldn't contain myself. It resulted in even low end starters pitching 8 innings because low pitch count. So I increased HUM foul balls to 5 and increased CPU pitch control to 5 but lowered CPU consistency to 3. Now it plays great for me at least before the patch. About to try with new patch.

Yep. I have been advocating a 5,3,5 CPU pitching setup....very good results

See I can't figure out what the difference even is when looking at the defintions given for consistency vs control in the sliders section, any idea? I've obviously got consistency at default already so was thinking maybe control would help. I'm walking at a rate higher then the MLB average but not #1 in the league so I suppose it's not too terrible I just don't want to see so many pitches served up right over the plate and would prefer to see more pitches on the black from the CPU. In the game I'm currently in Jordan Zimmerman just hung a slider belt high, middle in and Seager deposited it into the right-center field bleachers for a 3-run HR and this was in the second inning so not fatigue related for sure.

On a unrelated note the injuries in game are beyond weird. For the second time I've had a CPU SP get hurt with a concussion off a HR, figure that one out.

See I'm kinda wondering what 5 for control and consistency would do. I don't have issues with the strike frequency slider based on 1st pitch strikes which according to the description that slider has everything to do with strikes early in the count. Prior to Zimmerman getting injured he had thrown a 1st pitch strike to 9 of the 14 batters he faced (64.3%) and his career mark is 67.1% so pretty close. If I could get a firm grasp on the difference between consistency and control that would go a long ways towards figuring out what to adjust.

Just saw your past comments...interesting. I'll have to see if anything changes with patch but frequency at 5 is interesting.

That would be better question for Armor or Josh. In the end though, I think it is trial and error. And these guys have done a lot of it.

Has anyone seen to many unrealistic plays caused by the Fielder Reaction setting? There was a ball hit in the hole between third and short, so deep to the point where the shortstop was in left field when he got to it, and was able to throw out my runner with 78 speed by two steps. The reaction time by the fielder mixed with the the unreal laser beam he threw to first seems to happen pretty often.

What about decreasing both infield arm strength and fielder reaction by 1?

I found this description when searching OS and going back nearly a year but I'm sure it holds true regardless, not that I'm 100% sure I understand it anyways lol...

Control = Did you hit your spot? Did the pitch do what it is supposed to do? I think of it as mechanical accuracy. Repeatable delivery, consistent arm slot, proper snap/pronation, etc. Maybe you got it snap but not quite as much as it needed to to come back over the corner, etc.

Consistency = How bad did you screw up? If you meant to throw it out of the zone, did it end up down the middle or way off for an easy take? If you meant to pound the knees, did it dip a bit too low or end up just above the knees or did it end up near the letters? I think of this as accuracy rating. Can you make the pitch dance and end up right at the center of the mitt? If not, how far off do you tend to be?

They also interact with the BB/9 and Pitch Control rating (i.e. the control rating on each pitch) and the Strike Frequency (how often the CPU wants to just pound the zone vs induce chases.

The only wonky fielding I've seen is hits in to the gap where the L or R fielder stop and wait for the CF to come get the ball when they are the closer fielder. It doesn't happen enough to make me worried about it quite yet.

Here is a hitting rule for all of you when it comes to Knuckleballers.

When it comes out high....let it fly

Comes out low let it go.

Same goes for breaking balls and sliders as well as changeups. Easy to remember.....a lifetime of effort to execute.

                          Hit the cages boys.

Ha! Just worked 5 different drills at practice with our high school program stressing this exact same approach to recognizing and attacking off speed pitches.

Hey guys random question. In your franchises what's your sim to play ratio. How many games do you sim compared to actually play.
