Testing out the new sliders now.

Did a huge fantasy draft earlier with 30-team control using my player rankings. Teams are balanced and look awesome. I've got the Seattle Mariners and my big picks were Mookie Betts, David Price, Ryan Braun, and Matt Harvey.

Opening series is against the Houston Astros who chose Johnny Cueto, Salvador Perez, DJ LaMahieu, and Brandon Belt among others. (Astros lineup actually looks kinda meh but it's not too bad and most of the other teams have some really cool lineups)

Hello. First i wanna say thank you for the work you do creating something extra for the community. But i have a question for you. What is your opinion on using higher difficulties with these sliders?

        Couple questions.
Is there a need to direct every hit with the directional hitting? Like quick look at where he usually hits ball and direct it that way like for instance up right for a pull homer as a lefty? Or should it be done only when u want a certain hit like a sac fly or up the middle? Is it ok to hardly ever direct hits?

I also traded Tyler naquin for Adam Jones seems like a good trade for me but they still accepted it? Is the trading realistic in this game and because ttler has a low salary is that why they accepted? Seem pretty odd.

These work excellent on HOF as well.

Time for the show Marathon to start me and my Braves looking for a three-game sweep of the Giants for a fifth straight win. Loving this game about to play all day

Texas came back after I was up 7 to 3 in 5th inning. Khyber was leaving cutter high and over the plate I'm guessing I should've just tapped it instead of halfway hold. They got a lot of solid contact doubles galore and even triples. Meanwhile my offense was stagnant as I couldn't calculate the slow 70mph breaking balls guess I should've tried ur 7 offspeed setting. I managed to use otero and another to get to the 8th where I had Miller come in and do his great pitches. Cody got the save with three punchouts. The cpu always come back it seems idk what I'm doing exactly wrong .

Well the braves finish of the 3 game sweep with a 9-0 pounding of the giants. Off to play the angels in some interleague action. My pitching was dominant in the three-game sweep giving up only three runs in three games. That was after giving up 16 runs in the last series versus the Pirates. So many different types of games.

So is the overall consensus that the home runs have been toned down since the patch? I still have wind speed at 3 and I've been playing on Hall of Fame (Zone) of late. However, I really want to move back down to All-Star Directional hitting but I'm worried about the ridiculous amount of home runs I was hitting before.

It is imo but anytime the wind is blowing out it carries the ball and makes for more HR's still but I've got wind at default like Armor's sliders. I may adjust wind down just to see if it helps a little, when I was playing at home with the roof closed there was no wind in any of the 3 games and I only hit 1 HR then went to Oakland and it was 5mph out one game and 10mph out the next, needless to say I hit 6 HR's in those 2 games combined.

EDIT - The trickiest part of this game is getting the CPU pitchers to pitch a little better while still yielding walks. The average to lower end SP's still throw too many pitches right down the heart of the plate and that in itself yields too many hard hit balls and potential HR's. The problem is, or at least I'd assume, is you figure out a way to tighten that up and then the CPU pitchers won't walk anyone as their control will be too good.

I agree the wind is the main culprit for the excessive hr distances and numbers....now for the pitching. I think it is imperative to start with default strike frequency and control as well. You can get by with lowering control by one but no lower.....here is the reason: SDS has the first pitch strike percentages near perfect on default. If u don't chase, the k percentage will be right in line with real life....here is another reason that is overlooked....strike percentage also represents the intelligence/strategy of the CPU Pitchers. The CPU will pitch around good players at the appropriate time on default strike percentage....and with the control at default, it allows the CPU to actually miss when they are trying to miss. Now the consistency is a little tough at times. But I go with it at 3. U will not have an excessive amount of HBP or wild pitches. It will not be bad enough to make ur OBP out of whack at all. Trust me try a 5,3,5 CPU pitching set up and let me know how it works fo you. U could even go 4,4,5. Please trust me and try. Also I think we are hampering the CPUs ability to pitch effectively outside the zone when we move k frequency as low as 3......That, IMO is the issue and not consistency.

I assume when you say 5-3-5 you're talking Control-Consistency-Strike Frequency in that order? As you're aware I'm currently on 4-5-3 using Armor's sliders. I'm also gonna toy with the wind slider as the power is just too much when the wind is in play, I'm currently in the bottom of the 4th at Detroit, Matt Boyd on the hill with his 66 overall rating, and I've already hit 3 HR's off him. Now granted his HR/9 rating is a ridiculously low 21 and I'm sure that has something to do with it but the ball is just jumping off my bat if I remain patient and just wait for him to leave one out there. As for first pitch strikes he's thrown 8 of 18 first pitch strikes, ie. in the zone, I've swung outside the zone at 3 first pitches that weren't strikes so I suppose technically he's thrown 11 first pitch strikes in the 18 batters he's faced.

Yes I am referring to control, consistency, strike frequency. The CPU does not pitch as intelligent when the k frequency is below default k frequency. With a 5,3,5 setup u will face a CPU pitcher that will walk u at appropriate times ....lowering wind to 3 will also pair well with the 5,3,5 setting. I am aware the 4,5,3 setting is armors. But I have had better results not neutering the cpu's intelligence by lowering k frequency. Trust me having consistency at 3 and control and k frequency at 5 will not result in enuff hbp to make u lead the league in obp. If it does please take a screenshot and post

Imo consistency is the most important slider for pitching. After armor raised to 5 it became tougher to hit imo. I hit less hr and a lot more k for me. And with it at 5 you have to take balls that are close to the zone in order to walk making hitting make harder. I do a test the other day and put consistency back down to 3 and it made the pitcher much easier to hit and I hit a lot more hr. With it lower than default the pitcher servers up meatballs. Everyone has there own opinion and that is mine. I am set with the sliders as they are opening page and this game has never played better.
