As long as the CPU profile you assigned has what you want manual and auto you are good. In the franchise menu go the user settings and cycle the CPU profile and check the mode settings. That is the bible.

Yes they are correct in there. I think the toggle switches are what's confusing people. There's a whole forum where people are saying it's broken because they say manual or auto for all teams no matter what team you are on.

Yes. I know why people are getting confused. In the main menus within franchise, there is the toggle with the "square" button and it all says manual. This does not matter and 30-team control is still functioning properly.

If you said one team to auto by hitting "square" on the Roster tab for example, it would set ALL teams to auto. Just leave as is (all say manual) and that's correct.

I don't know why I can't figure this out but if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it...

I use 30-team control. Trying to reverse a trade between KC and CIN. It won't work no matter how I try it.

I've reversed trades before but no matter which team I put on which side on the trade screen, the other team always rejects it and says they feel they should be getting more. I tried each team on each side, tried setting the 2 teams to the User profile, tried setting Trades to "Manual" in the "Mode-Specific Settings" and nothing is working to reverse this trade.

              Anyone have anything?

It's not even a terrible trade... 2 top prospects for Whit Merrifield. I just don't like the timing of it. Merrifield is a 91 overall. A blockbuster trade like this wouldn't happen on April 5th. Not realistic.

I’m seeing a ton of doubles for both myself and the CPU while using these sliders. I feel like mostly everything else is working how I’d like, but I’m seeing about half of the hits in each game resulting in doubles.

Should I try lowering solid hits to 4 and see how that plays out? I don’t want to affect too much else in the game by doing that though.

I would play a couple games with the sliders and I lowered CPU contact to 4 so they can strike out a little more easier. But really I feel like all they get is singles or home runs. I don’t have issues getting to 2 strikes. Do you guys use max effort when you get to 2 strikes?

So I keep track of all my stats on a spreadsheet. Like my fly ball, line drive, and ground ball rates. I have been using these sliders has a base cause I been using all star plus and I played a couple games with user contact at 4 instead of 5. But my fly ball rate is like around 50% where it should be around 35%. My line drive rate is good at 20%. My ground ball rate is low at around 30%. So this is probably a dumb question cause I don’t think Armor tracks this stuff...but what slider would induce less fly balls?

Armour, do you find pitch speeds faster this year? I used 6/7 last year. Deciding whether to go 5/5 or 6/6 this year.

I just played my first game using these settings and sliders and I gotta say, wow. Probably the best game I’ve played in a long time.
                        Toronto (me) vs Oakland
Fiers was dealing for them but I managed to work his pitch count pretty high so he could only go 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, a walk and 8ks.
Shoemaker countered him by going 7 strong allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, striking out 7.
I grabbed a couple runs off their relievers and it was 4-3 going into the 9th. Giles comes in and walks the first batter he faces, gets the next two outs and then gives up a 2 run homer to Morales and I can’t rally in the bottom and I lose 5-4.
                        Oakland 5 R 9 H 0 E
                        Toronto 4 R 7 H 0 E
They hit 3 hone runs and I hit 1.
I hit 2 doubles and the computer hit none.
Overall, I was way to aggressive and in classic Toronto fashion struck out 15 times as a team.
It was intense and everything felt so natural and realistic.
Thank you for these sliders, you’ve managed to make this great game even better.

When doing 30-team control, how can you balance having the injury slider on 6 for simmed games and 9 for played games? Wouldn't that lead to a much higher amount of injuries on CPU teams?

Not quite what I meant and has already been answered by Armor anyway.

                            Thanks though.

I am impressed with these sliders. I started my Orioles franchise and was promptly swept for your beloved Yankees, Armor. I was outscored 26-4 (3-1, 13-3, 10-0) in that series. Then I turn around and I swept the Blue Jays. All of those games were low scoring and decided by only one run. I did manage to win my home opener by the score of 4-1 against the Yankees. Now I sit 4-3 on the young season. I know my above .500 record won't last with this team but this game and your sliders are truly amazing. This is the most fun I have had with The Show in years.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

I figured it would be easier to illustrate what I was talking about earlier regarding strikeouts with video. So I recorded my pitching for a game in Franchise mode using Armor's setup (which I don't normally use). The only differences are that I was using manual fielding (but still buttons), classic pitch indicator (for the sake of explanation, so you can see where I'm aiming vs. where the pitches go - although I didn't have it on at the very beginning), and fast play on/pitcher warmup off (in the interest of time). At one point in the recording I paused and showed the sliders too. I think I left the injury and trade sliders alone because they didn't matter for the purposes of this topic.

This is a long video - around 30 minutes, and I don't really expect people to sit all the way through it. But it's hard to timestamp anything because the strikeout at-bats are scattered all over. I'd recommend at least watching the 2nd (2 K inning), 5th (Gallo at-bat after I got knocked around a bit), and the 9th (the Pedro Strop Experience - bad and good) for some good examples, plus the very end if you're interested in the box score.

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/bMVXdqoPBRw" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                                A few points:

As you can see, I got my strikeouts and didn't give up a lot of hard contact - a solid game pitching all around. Pitching on HOF and above is about risk management, and it means not being afraid to risk walking people. To that end, I keep to the corners and off of them most of the time, and especially on 2-strike counts where the batter is just trying to put the ball in play. The pitcher's "stuff" is how I get my strikeouts - starting pitches inside the strike zone and ideally having them end up outside it, enticing batters to swing and miss, or make very weak contact. Pitchers with high K/9's are very good at making this work. Of course with classic being what it is, it's not always that clean - I hit 2 batters and threw 2 wild pitches in addition to some walks. Given Darvish's real life performances this year, I'm not sure that's all that unrealistic, but that's another topic......

The pitches I got strikeouts on were mostly on/near the corners or out of the zone, one big exception being the 9th inning where Strop blew Guzman away with a center-cut fastball (yep, those happen too as long as you're not throwing too many there).

Hopefully the video showed where I try to aim on certain counts, but for a little more info:

                                - Generally, there are two situations where I use max effort (i.e. holding the button down until the small rumble). I use it if I'm trying to throw a pitch intentionally in the strike zone, and on 2 strikes if I'm trying to get a batter to chase for the strikeout. If the pitcher has no control at all (i.e. Strop in the first part of the 9th inning) then I have no choice but to use less effort in order to throw a strike - in those situations it's sometimes "aim it down the middle and hope for the best" which often means the pitch actually ends up out to the corners of the zone.

                                - I mostly follow the catcher suggestions and throw the pitch and general location he's calling for (the hand/glove taps after he calls the pitch type). That keeps the pitch distribution fairly realistic, and for the most part the AI catcher is aware of individual pitch confidence and will call pitches you're having success with more often. I'm not throwing anywhere near where the API would be telling me to though, if it were on. If you're going to use that, use it only as a guide to which direction to aim at - because if you constantly try to hit that glove on AS or above, the CPU will destroy you. You'd be throwing far too many strikes, and it WILL pick up on that and punish you for it.

I hope that's helpful to anyone struggling to get K's - sometimes seeing an example of something gets the message across better. As I said before, I don't normally play on these settings, but I was able to plug them in and have a game like this because my approach and mindset is the exact same when using meter. All meter does is afford me a little more control over my mistakes - in other words, when I screw up with the meter I'm likely to get a result I don't want. It doesn't change the core way the game operates, and how the CPU batters choose when to swing or not.

Nice set as always Armor - this game was a lot of fun, in a bit more "chill" way than I normally play.
