Man, is anybody actually having a much easier time this year with the game, like it's more forgiving. I've played a bunch of exhibition games and started my franchise a couple of weeks ago. My record is nothing special at 8-5 but I'm first in team batting average in the league and first in team ERA and the lowest walk total by far. But I'm in the middle in strikeouts. I also have solid hits for CPU at 5. This is not something I'm used to and I'm wondering if this is just a coincidence or not. I haven't had a game where I had under like 11 hits in a while. MLB 18 was very frustrating at times for me but this seems different.

      Awesome stuff as always bcruise!

A small but impactful update is coming.

I am moving human solid hits up to default 5 for HOF batting.

Leaving it at 4 for the CPU (which offsets the lower pitcher control for the human).

HOF this cycle is a bigger challenge no question. After playing several games with solid hits at 5 for the HUM, it felt a lot better for me personally.

You finally made the change lol. Yeah default solid hit on default is nice. I do have CPU on 5 and it is working good for me. But I have a stacked pitching staff. I'm only giving up 3.3 a game since I got 19.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders

My inability to strike out the CPU is starting to really frustrate me. I just pitched seven innings with Lester, struck out three. I had SOOO many two-strike counts, made great pitches but the CPU continually put the ball in play.

I really don’t want to make any slider tweaks because when you change one thing it affects other areas. I’d love to see stats from some of you guys on where you stand in the team rankings on strikeouts. Prior to this game I was 29th. After this I’m likely last in the league.

And I’ve never, ever been anywhere near the bottom ever on The Show. I’m consistently top ten in strikeouts every year in this game since MLB 08. So, while I appreciate the advice on, “how to work batters,” please understand, I’m quite well versed in that. The thing that would give me peace of mind is simply knowing that, while using these sliders, it’s possibly to be in the upper tier in strikeouts. Screenshots of your ranking is always preferable... not that I don’t believe people. Ha.

Simple answer no! Not even close.
I am actually 26th in team ERA at 4.51 after 26 games in my Reds season.
I am batting .256 as a team which is in the lower 1/3.
The game is an absolute challenge to me and I am loving it.
I thought I had turned the corner after starting slow.
I recently when 6-2 over an 8 game span and was crushing the ball.
I got over .500 for the first time. Scored 8 runs and 7 runs the last two games of the streak.
Then last night I played one game and got beat 2-0, I had 3 total hits vs a very average pitcher.
This game is so damn unpredictable and I love it.

I have experienced this actually. That being said I’m seeing a lot of other people having a hard time. To me that just screams “stay the course”. We’ll fall down to reality soon!

I'll take the other side of this. It seems to me there's a comeback code. If I have a late lead, there's a 100% chance of the game becoming tied or worse. It's maddening. I don't care if it's 4-0 in the 8th, the CPU team will get at least 4.

Yeah true. Maybe I'm just going through a nice little streak and then the slump will eventually start. I'll def stay the course for now. No joke last night's game against the Braves i won 17-0 and had 26 hits. I started another game and then it was 12:30 AM and I'm like I gotta go to bed lol. So I saved it in the 5th and was winning 6-0 with 12 hits. Last year games like this were few and far between. I keep OCD checking the settings to make sure my sliders didn't change and I'm on HOF during the game but all settings are correct. I will say though I have HUM Solid Hits at 5 and I've had it there the whole time. But I've also had the CPU Solid hits at 5 the whole time too. We shall see.

I’ve actually noticed this. I’m playing right now. I put human solid hits at 5 like armour said he’s doing above. And actually I put cpu solid hits at 5 too because I need more of a challenge. 8th inning. I have 4hrs. 13 hits. 8 runs total. Score is 8-1. All starters on my team batting over 300

I am a firm believer though that the majority of this game plays incredible out of the box. I feel like we always tweak things, but as we play more and more, we get closer to tweaking back to the default settings. Not that this game is perfect, but it's just one of the best out of the box. With that said, the one slider I personally adjusted was the pitch speed slider. I decreased it from last year where I had it on 9. This year I decreased it to 7. If I increase the FB pitch speed slider, that will def things more difficult for me if I have to do something later on.

I am at 6 and 6 for pitch speeds. Thought about bumping to 7 and 7 to up the challenge.

I do notice a comeback every game.

It’s because my bullpen is atrocious lol

I try to play as sim and realistic as possible but I’m heavily debating on signing Kimbrel

Or what? Lol jk.. I agree.. there isn't a "code" that lets the computer comeback.. FFS people stop making up conspiracies. Of course the other team is going to try harder to mount a comeback, it's your job to stop them.
