Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I have had to put the starter stamina to 6 or 7 and reliever to 3.. the CPU is ruining games I find I have to do the changes myself with the move controller over.
with it's pathetic BP management. I found that with starters set to 5 most pitchers will be tired and be in the yellow when they are up to about 70 to 75 pitchers. putting it to 6 put's it into that 80 to 90 pitches range and red by the time they are at 100
as for Relievers they are looking at a limit on average of 30 pitches per game. so you want them to hit yellow by about 30 pitches. part of the problem of trying to get scores realistic and issues are to do with the A1 joke of a BP management mange it yourself you get even better resultsComment

Armor, I read through quite a few pages and haven’t seen you touch base on a hot topic within this thread. How are your strikeout numbers? I’ve noticed it’s been an issue and there’s been quite a few threads outside of this one as well where people are really struggling to strikeout batters. If I could get around this issue this game would be absolutely amazing. I have every hitting slider PERFECT for me. The low strikeout thing is just killing me.
Thank you in advance.

You’ll find your swing, believe me. I actually had a harder time hitting with lower speeds so far this year. I was sitting back on everything because it was coming in so slow. Curveballs were floating in like a softball which caused my timing to be waaaay off either early or late. And I couldn’t pull anything. With 5/5 I can pull an inside fastball down the line because I anticipate it a little and get the barrel of the bat out in front just enough.
Trust the sliders lol

14 strikeouts seems high against Bundy and bullpen. Do you think I’m overmatched on 5/5??Yankees modern day

Sorry not slider related but does it not count as an RBI when you ground into a bases loaded double play and a run scores?
Sanchez did that and then later homered but box score is showing just one RBI for him.
Either that's a bug or I've gotten that wrong my whole life... always thought that counted as an RBIComment

Well I started my Yankees franchise over going back to 5/5. I squeaked out a 3-1 victory. Orioles got 9 hits and 1 homer and struck out 12 times. I only managed 6 hits including 2 doubles and a homer. I struck out 14 times. Half of my strikeouts were swinging too early on offspeed pitches while sitting on fastballs.

Don’t forget the real Yankees did the same exact thing the 3rd game of the season against Bundy and the Orioles with 14 total k’s, and outdid themselves a few games later by striking out 18 times against the Tigers.
The 2 pitches I try to avoid swinging at, and often failing miserably at, are the high fastball and that curveball or changeup in the dirt. Can’t seem to lay off either of those no matter how hard I try. What batting camera do you use? I myself use fisheye 2 but I’ve heard others say the offset camera works great for being able to recognize a curve or slider as it leaves the pitcher’s hand.

Hey Gagnon, I am about 50 games into the season and am 11th in strikeouts with the Yankees. While some of their RP are high K guys, their rotation is not (Happ and CC can’t seem to strike anyone out these days). Severino leads my SP with a roughly 9 k/9.

After 37 games I have 194 strikeouts while pitching.
That is about 5 per game and I am in last in the league.
For me I struggle to get any K's unless Castillo or Iglaises are pitching for me.
In my two games last night I have 3 total strikeouts pitching.
Maybe something we need to look at, IRL the reds are ave over 10 k's per game pitching.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I don't think I have had a game where I have hit more than 6 hits total. I work the counts and all but my guys either pop it up, barely make contact, or hit it right at someone. It is really frustrating. Is there anything I could possible do differently?Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 19 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
For you guys struggling to hit, and this works for me, is play to the strengths of your hitter. If they’re an extreme pull hitter use the left stick to influence a swing to their pull side. Also don’t be afraid to use the contact swing with 2 strikes. I’ve had at bats where I’ve looked awful using the normal swing, but then was able to foul off a few pitches with contact that I would have missed with a normal swing. Several of the at bats ended in a hit. You’re probably not going to hit a home run or even rip the ball into the gaps for extra bases but you’ll make contact and a 2 strike single is never a bad thing. I actually just did it twice in the 9th inning. I worked the count, fouled off a few 2 strikes pitches with contact swing and drew a walk and singled just before hitting a walk off grand slam against a pitcher with very low confidence and barely any energy. He grooved a fastball that I was waiting for and hit a no doubter for the win. I entered the inning down 8-4 and scored 6 for the thrilling 10-8 win.
