I'm starting to agree with the lack of strikeouts the CPU has. Through 19 games with the Phillies, my pitching staff as a whole is last in MLB with 127 strikeouts.

I did bump up CPU foul frequency to default.

Still having fun though. Some nice offensive numbers from the team.

4th in batting average at .283.
2nd in runs with 118.
1st in doubles with 58.
T-4th in triples with 5.
T-13th in home runs with 27.
18th in walks with 73.
1st in strikeouts with 129.
1st in slugging percentage at .510.
6th in on-base percentage at .354.

That's great to hear about your batting average! I've had a pretty bad 20 games of baseball with the Padres and have fallen down to 27th at .243 as a team. At some point I have to say the Padres just suck at hitting but are you doing anything in particular with your hitting that you feel helped you get to .283?

That's great to hear about your batting average! I've had a pretty bad 20 games of baseball with the Padres and have fallen down to 27th at .243 as a team. At some point I have to say the Padres just suck at hitting but are you doing anything in particular with your hitting that you feel helped you get to .283?

I'm just really patient at the plate. I think having Bryce Harper on the team has made me want to be more patient than in years past. 20 of the team's 73 walks are Harper. I hit a lot of doubles and have a lot of guys on base because of the walks.

I'm 11-8 on the season so far playing every game. My last game against the Rockies I had a 5-2 lead and the Rockies tied it at 5. I went ahead 6-5 in the top of the 9th. Brought in David Robertson to close it out and promptly served up a game tying home run and then 2 batters later gave up a walk-off home run to Daniel Murphy.

I feel like they WAY overdid it with adding balls bouncing off of fielders gloves. I mean this is just ridiculous and seems to be getting worse. Whether it's an infielder on a ground ball or an outfielder diving for a fly ball or line drive... it happens multiple times every game and costs me so many outs. It's like unless a ball is hit directly at an infielder, it's gonna bounce off his glove and will be a hit when it shouldn't be. SO OFTEN!!

Moral of the story: Balls bouncing off the glove of a diving fielder is way too frequent and it's unrealistic.

I didnt follow my plan today and ended up streaming 3 games in my carryover. Took the rubber match against the Twins, and then got shutout, not once, but TWICE by the White Sox. The home opener did not go as planned where I was still in a chance to come back and win as it was 3 - 0 Sox till Cimber gave up 5 and I ended up losing 8 - 0. Second game of 2 game series was a great pitching duel foiled by a 8th inning suicide squeeze that totally caught me off guard and lost 3 - 0.

These 3 games had everything from bloop hits, to comebacks, to hard hits, great fielding, blunders, mishaps, challenges, and best of all unpredictable plays.

Im currently 2 - 3 4th in the division and a lowly .186 team average. As I am unhappy about how the season is starting, I am NOT unhappy about the sliders as they have been proven to be one of the best sets out there. Im not hitting..... it will come and I know that. Starting pitching has been awesome, bullpen has been ok to bad. Bats just arent there yet. Its April, its the North, its playing as expected. Cant wait to keep grinding and see if I am selling or buying in July.

For those struggling with HR's...You could check the wind direction before the game. If its blowing out, just keep the wind slider at 5. If its blowing in, you could move it to 0. I dont personally do this, as it ruins the realism of the game. IMO it's a better option than tinkering with CPU hitting sliders and breaking the game entirely.

I leave the wind slider at 5. I’ve had plenty of wind assisted hits, both homers and balls that land way in front of the outfielder. I’ve also had sure homers get blown foul.

I’m 1st in most offensive categories with the Phillies, mainly because of Harper. He has 27 homers and like 63 RBI and I haven’t hit June yet.

Needless to say he is the leading candidate for NL MVP.

Pitching is a different story. I’m up and down with my starters and pen, just like real life.

Despite my issues with pitching this year this game is a blast. Just wish I had more time to play.

I’ve been mashing so far this year too. I spent the last two years with bad Phillies teams which taught me to be patient and wait for a good pitch to hit, and now that I have a good team that can hit, I’m having better results when I do.

I’ve definitely noticed this year I’m having more success using no influence this year on directional. Only time I use it is if I have a power guy up 0-2 1-2 and I’m looking for one pitch in one location.

I’ve definitely noticed this year I’m having more success using no influence this year on directional. Only time I use it is if I have a power guy up 0-2 1-2 and I’m looking for one pitch in one location.
