Re: JoshC1977's MLB 19 Sliders
I guess this seems like a 180 considering my question, but I really was just curious what your thoughts were. Thanks, man!Comment

Hey, Josh. Thanks for the advice you gave me about striking out the CPU. It has made a difference. Just curious. what's the most SO's you've had or anybody in this thread has had in franchise?Comment

I’ve had 16 with Max Scherzer in a complete game shutout. Team high is 18 I think.Comment

I'm playing this for the 1st time since MLB 16 , so forgive me if this is a stupid question but how do I extend players contracts? And does the CPU extend its players contracts ? Really hope it's not like FIFA and every star player just becomes available

Re: JoshC1977's MLB 19 Sliders
I will start by saying I have settled into your set for about 6 weeks now and have made the adjustments you make and am really enjoying them. I did make one of my own in the last 10 games that I really like. I bumped human and cpu power to 6 and like the results. Feels like some balls that used to be doubles now clear the fence. In a season where major league players are on pace to hit the most homers in a single season I wasn't seeing that from the game. With that little adjustment I now feel the 'pop' I wanted.Baseball junky....Comment

How are you guys user strikeouts while batting? Can’t seem to strikeout. I’ve struck out 200 times less than the team behind me. On average it’s about 4.1 a game...

Re: JoshC1977's MLB 19 Sliders
Love the set. I will say that the first 20 or so games I was struggling using Directional as it seemed like the hits I got were mostly bloopers or just straight singles but I switched back to zone hitting and it's like my whole offense woke up. I've made not changes to the OP other than move pitch speed down one notch each but I'm having tons of fun now and it's all thanks to these sliders.

Raise pitch speed or change your batting camera. Another option would be using OP with user contact at 5 instead of 6. This is actually how I play. I average about 7.8 K’s per game.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's MLB 19 Sliders
I have pitch speed up to six & human contact at 5. I’m using mlb 16 camera. It’s gotta be the camera again because I rarely chase ANYTHING lol. I know camera is user preference what do you guys play on? Sliders are playing great aside from that.Comment

The CPU WILL re-sign their own players....not sure if they do extensions or not. But don't worry, you won't be able to grab every guy out there.

If it's really grinding your gears, I'd propose a 'house rule'....stop using contact swings. I actually do (out of habit) a bit of an adaptation where I only use contact swings for high contact guys. You could even take it another way and only use power swing for low contact/high power guys (like Gallo).
Player ratings have a huge impact here too....high vision/discipline guys are going to strike-out way less.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

You can extend contracts during spring training and in the trade deadline phase. You will also have opportunities to re-sign players in the offseason.

I did something a bit different, I went after a couple of trade targets who had 80+ power. IMO, there seems to be something (like a threshold) once a player has 80 in-game power. Once I grabbed two guys (one starter, one backup), it really made a difference. Getting a bomb from a guy like that can shake the pitcher's confidence and can begin leading to a deluge.
They're always going to be a bit low if you have a good eye. I agree with the other suggestions of changing-up your cam. Lowering the timing slider a tick COULD help, but I doubt it is enough to make a huge difference.

Re: JoshC1977's MLB 19 Sliders
I only use normal swing and never influence the swing because I think it just lets the ratings play out best. I also take a ton of borderline pitches on 3-2 because I’m okay with striking out if I have a good chance at getting a walk. This can possibly help raise both your walks and k’s.Comment
