The player regress isn't as bad as people in the main forum make it. I've had +30 players regress and still have good seasons. My opinion is, I think the regress plays out well. Players on teams wont regress as fast as someone sitting in free agency. I think the game plays that out perfectly.


As for the trade, Matz is more money, so make sure your covered ok affording him and if he is just a rental for the year or potential re-sign. Pitchers are always worth more in this game. Something else to consider at contract time. I like the trade if your looking for a pitching boost. Me, I would throw in a avg minor leaguer just to help the cpu lol, but the trade looks fair to me.

Yeah I need a decent SP in the rotation , and the newbie that I am I didn't even notice the money situation until u guys mentioned it lol I

Just blew out the blue jays 17-2. I drew 10 walks this game. The starter walked 5 batters in 2.2ip lol.

Ugh I'm devastated after this loss . In my series finale against Detroit I was up 6-2 , I managed to hit a 2 run homer to give the Stud Vladimir Guerrero Jr. his 1st Professional home run of his promising career . I was so happy to get it with him cus it was also my 1st home run playing this game lol But then the 7th inning came along and I loaded the bases and gave up a grand salami to Miguel Cabrera of course . Ended up losing the game 8-6 lol. So at the start of the season im 1-3 and now we welcome the Baltimore Orioles . Only 4 games in but its been awesome

Gotta love being up 2-0 in the 4th only to have my power go off for like 1/2 a second and screw me 😂. I'm in a wild card race here. On a positive note I've really settled in with these sliders. I was on a hitting bonanza for about a week or 2, now I'm getting low scoring pitching duels. Having a blast.

I've had two great games over the last couple of days.

My first game against the Pirates, I was down 4-0 in the 3rd and was able to score 4 runs with 2 outs on two 2-run home runs. I eventually took the lead but ended up blowing it in the 8th as the Pirates took a 8-5 and held on to win it. I walked 8 batters in this game, which was freakin' awesome!

In my second game against the Marlins, it was tied 0-0 in the 10th before Curtis Granderson hit a oppo taco to right field. In the bottom of the inning, Joey Votto tied it with a two out double and Eugenio Suarez singled a batter later to win the game.

Two completely different games with these sliders and both were awesome games for different reasons.

I'm still seeing a lack of user home runs, which is really odd. However, seeing 2 in one inning two games ago gives me hope...one of them being with Jose Iglesias who has 40 power.

If it makes you feel better, I've had some dry spells with the Reds in hitting HRs. We're near the top in doubles (which makes sense with high contact guys like Scooter, Votto, and Winker), but HRs, not so much (I think we're like 19th in the majors after June 7th). For good measure, the real life Reds are 17th in the majors in HRs (and for a LOL moment, they are dead last in doubles IRL).

My offense is definitely mimicking the Reds offense IRL....same goes for the pitching. Except I didn't go 1-8 to start the season lol. The doubles are there for sure. I think I have 6 home runs through 11 games though.

I've been using Armor's sliders because I like the challenge of HOF. And besides, both Armor and Josh's sliders are very similar. There are a couple of takeaways that I love from Josh's sliders that I've used on Armor's set recently and that would be both USER/CPU starting pitcher stamina at 6 and both base running sliders at 5. I love the extra ~10 pitches or so that you get out of starters with the slider at 6 and I agree something weird happens with base running if the slider/s are at 6. I love what both of you have been able to do with your sets this year as they have this game playing an amazing brand of baseball. I'm about to get going with a Cardinals franchise as I've never been able to play a full 162 but I really want to. There's not a better sports game out there!

Just want to say thank you for these sliders, and for the advice of turning guess pitch off. I've been hitting the cover off the ball and having a blast. Good variety of hits, and game to game dynamics.

The only thing I'm noticing after about a month of games is some really wonky fielding decisions.

I play on auto fielding, and sometimes my OF's (and the CPU's) will just take awful routes to really routine balls, causing triples or even inside the park home runs. They often have a weird animation where they tumble to the ground after reaching out for it.

Thinking this might be Fielder Reaction related, but not 100% sure.

Hi JoshC1977 - So I'm using your slider set with CPU Contact at 6, Solid Hits at 4 but with HUM Pitch Control at 4. The reason for this is I'm using Meter pitching and I guess I'm good at timing it. However, the CPU offense still seems a little punchless to me. In the first 5 games of my NYY franchise with Severino, Paxton, Tanaka, Happ and German pitching - I've only allowed 2 runs with 3 shutouts. Do you recommend raising the CPU Contact to 7?

Fielders ratings play a big factor this year.

The slider is very impactful as well. I prefer default so that raitings are kept in line.

When i lowered it it felt like fielders would move at a snails pace to react to the ball so I raised it and it improved that but it also made every fielder an allstar.

Its a very touchy slider so i stopped messing with it and let the ratings play out.

You really have to look at those ratings. I posted a while back about seeing bobbles and errors even on player who i thought were good at their position. After looking into ratings they were avg or below. So i have been playing guys who field better over that "big name" guy.

I would dive into those fielders ratings and give a fair assessment before messing with that slider. However, if you are looking for more reaction across the board youll find it by raising it by 1 and still find yourself in a decent spot any more than that and youll get very arcade play from the field.
