Don't let this thread die lol. Actually snuck in a game of 20 over last weekend. I forgot how good it is.

Thought I had a W in the bag and blew it keeping the starting pitcher in too long, and bullpen collapsing. Really need to get back more in to 20.

Plus sounds like 22 is more the same of 21. No Y2Y saves, no SoS for PS5, not worth it again. I actually managed never to cave in and buy 21 even when it had a big sale on it.

I just started a game to get my dynamic difficulty to AS+. But it is starting me all the way at Rookie. is there any way to start me off at All star so I dont have to waste my time for 2 hours getting it all the way to AS+?

Try changing your difficulty once you start your game to all star and leave dynamic difficulty on and see if that works.

We actually had some last night playing MLB 17.....I do go back into the vault and play some incredible classic rosters from MKnight.....The Godfather of OSFM and some amazing classic rosters.

I am still rocking 20, got to many franchises going..87 Athletics, Replay 2019 Dodgers, 20 Braves, 93 Mariners…so many games..I don’t sim any, got to play every pitch…Agree wi th A&S MLBTS 20 is the Tom Brady of sport games, but I don’t want to see this one retire…

Ya went back to ‘20 and resurrected my ‘19 Boston Red Sox “what if” franchise played in ‘20. There is something decidedly more organic about ‘20 imo. Not to mention SotS.

Well said. Totally agree. It just feels so good, looks great, plays great, and I guess for me....has a lot of heart and soul. It felt like a culmination of the PS4 era indeed and was/is the very best playing version of this game.

I really really hope that they can get back to that with 22.....but unfortunately my instincts tell me....not happening this year.

Let’s hope though for the best.

The great thing is we still have 20 and the previous versions which still play great....warts and all. 17 also has a special place in my heart. Love the franchise hub (daily recap screen ROCKS) and it still has season mode which is perfect for classic rosters.

Ended up playing quite a lot of ‘21 after going back and forth between that and ‘20, but have recently gone back to ‘20 full time, HOF with Armors sliders. I am a 100% offline DD and franchise player.

The biggest thing I notice, and it’s alluded to here in this thread in a number of posts, is the variety. ‘21 felt stiff, virtually all runs were via hr especially for the CPU, and the majority of games ended in a 1 run tight battle regardless of whether it was a high scoring affair or a defensive battle. I love Armor’s and JoshC’s threads and discussions, and I found Josh’s postings of the scores of his last 13 games in ‘21 in his thread very interesting and exactly my experience….There was a variety of high scoring and low scoring but the majority were tight 1 run games. I just could not get into ‘21 franchise, whether Sox or even a fantasy draft with custom team and relocation.

In ‘20 not only do I get a variety of high scoring and low scoring, I get a variety of outcomes and not just 1 run games. The CPU manufactures runs, I can manufacture runs. It’s not just a HR fest. And other than the CPU’s 2 out 2 strike hitting being on steroids in ‘20 (“clutch” rating??) I find ‘20 significantly more organic somehow.

‘20 is certainly twitchy in its animations, throwing and swinging, ‘21 is smoother and the ‘22 beta is smoother yet but ‘20 offers a better all around experience imho, not to mention SotS and a proper Red Sox schedule (not all day games post April, smh). I’ll be sticking with my 2019 Red Sox “What Coulda Been” played in ‘20.

Armor, just curious if you are thinking about playing ‘22 this year or if you are sticking with ‘20?

Something did not sit right with me while playing ‘21 on Xbox, but I played some more after getting a PS5 and upgrading my TV and haven’t had that feeling so I am actually looking forward to the new game and broadcast booth.

I get that you and others may be content to stick with ‘20, though.
