Yeah I went back to 5. Most my games end with no home runs. They come in spurts basically.

I was running @ 4 for a few games but I just bumped it back up to 5.

You've got to go to the file association tab and manually assign it to all 29 teams. Then keep your user profile as default and when you scroll through other teams it will still show as your default profile and look like everything is manual for the cpu teams but it is not and it will behave as you've assigned it the cpu profile. It's a bug they haven't addressed.

I was running @ 4 for a few games but I just bumped it back up to 5.

This is the first year I have gone all in with turning off the commentary completely for every game.

It has run it’s course for me. I just can’t listen to it anymore. I truly hope for the PS5 cycle they refresh it completely. It is long overdue for a complete overhaul in terms of style, who is calling the games and turning into a far more dynamic system that will evolve with your franchise far more than it does now.

Last cycle I turned it off only for Theme 3.

Now? No more.

MLBN Theme for the entire league, I have set the music that opens the broadcast ends the broadcast and between innings to ESPN Sunday Night Baseball. So I only use the MLBN Theme on Sunday games.

The Show Theme is used for all other games and I use the regional broadcast between innings music and regional broadcast introduction music to open the broadcast.

I have been doing my own play by play and commentary on all my streams and games period. I am having so much more fun.

Far more simulation elements for those seeking full immersion in their franchise universe.

I’m VERY VERY close to locking in my sliders for the start of my franchise and I feel like they’re the best and most challenging they’ve been in years.

In terms of pitching and CPU hitting I’m locked in. I’ve always used pulse pitching and I’ve stuck with everything Armor has said apart from raising CPU pitching consistency to 6 and lowering control to 4.

I feel like raising my consistency means I’m not missing too far from my spots as regularly when I mistime a pitch. Leaving the CPU’s power and timing at 5 mean when I do miss I’m getting crushed. Raising consistency to 6 allows me to nibble a bit more accurately at the corners. For the first time in a while I feel intimidated by some hitters and I’m really having to pitch carefully. Juan Soto is actually terrifying when you go down 2-0 and he does his little shuffle in the batters box, knowing you either need to challenge him or just put him on base.

As for hitting, I’ve got power and timing both at 4 and the CPU consistency at 6. I’m not seeing as many meatballs from the CPU and I’m thinking this is down to the consistency. I’m very close to dropping my solid hits to 4 and locking in there so I really feel like I earn any line drives and solid hits. I want to celebrate HR’s and stringing together a few hits to bring home a few runs and I feel like I’m super close to that.

I’ve been tracking my stats in-depth and through a pretty small sample size I’m scoring exactly 5 runs a game, hitting .280 with 1.2 HR’s a game and 3 doubles a game. I feel dropping my solid hits will bring those doubles and average down to a challenging level.

The CPU is hitting .282 against me with 1.6 HR’s a game and I’m striking out exactly 8 a game so I feel like there’s a good challenge there.

Went up against the Nationals with Mike Soroka and the Braves and was holding them to 1 hit through 5.2 innings with 6 K’s. It all fell apart after an error and 2 walks was followed up by a Victor Robles grand slam. Also had another game where the Twins crushed my Royals for 3 HR’s and 5 doubles on route to 9 runs and 14 hits so I’m seeing variety.

I feel like this years game and these sliders really make you think about who you challenge and what pitches to throw to which hitters. I’m quickly learning if I’m gonna try and sneak a fastball upstairs past a power hitter, I really need to make sure I get it up. Was punished twice against the Mariners as the Blue Jays when I tried this tactic on a 2-ball count against Dan Vogelbach and Tom Murphy. Both pitches leaked back over the plate into their wheelhouse and they crushed homers against me.

I’m so excited to get a good roster set, pick a team for my franchise and get stuck in.

We’ve really been treated in our final PS4 native version of The Show this year folks!

Sometimes my wife or one of my kids walks into the room I play The Show on so I might have to refrain from doing my own commentary lol. They already know I am a few marbles short. But I have done it from time to time I just can't help myself from saying "jussst a bit outside"

Next time you got a batter fouling 2-3 in a row, pick a pitch then tap L1 and step off.

The umpires this year are atrocious. No bias on either side, they’re just terrible all around. Seems like the strike zone changes pitch to pitch.
