You have to use dynamic difficulty. There are "in between" difficulties (like All Star +) before you go to the next difficulty. So basically, once you hit that level, you turn the dynamic difficulty slider all the way down to 0 so it doesn't change.

        Um...

So Josh and guys your advice was to go to dynamic? Well first I left “dynamic sensitivity” at 5 for both hitting and pitching (default) well so I don’t know what’s going on.... but I’m playing like normal except now I’m getting Hit and crushed ..... Shane bieber has given up like 3 homers and several hits and it’s only the top of the 2nd......
Lastly I notice that the box that pops up that shows the difficulty adjusting never starts at beginner cause it says All-Star plus - legend?
        Is something wrong???

            Last Question on this

Josh, in Dynamic difficulty does the raised difficulty carry over to the next game. I sure hope it don’t reset....
it was almost TO EASy.... my first game I won’t 7-0 I had 17 hits vs their 2 .....
I was the Indians vs Reds

It does carryover....that's the whole point of having it. It'll go up in difficulty until you stop mashing, then it will slow down. You should eventually hit a point where you either stay at one level or go back and forth between two levels.

And that's the last question about your hitting that I am going to answer until you've played at least 30 games. You got the setup you need....you just need to put in the time and let it all play out. There's nothing any of us can do to help you now...you have to put in the work now.

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 20 Sliders

So...every night I get a couple more franchise games in after work. Every night further solidifies my love of this setup.

I also play some offline DD stuff, and let me tell ya...default All Star is SO much easier than this setup is right now (pitch speeds obviously the biggest difference). It's been kinda nice honestly, because I can use DD as my relaxing "hit some bombs" time and ramp up the intensity for "real games" in franchise.

On a different note: I'm going to begin bumping-up the injury slider to 6 for both simmed and played games. I'd like to get a little more variety in simmed games and as I prefer not constantly changing back and forth; I'm just going to use this for my played games as well. Entirely personal preference; I just want to see how it plays out.

Hi Josh. Started my Yankee franchise replay today like I told you. Got beat in the opener 7-5 by the Orioles, and couldn't be happier. With the control slider at 6 for both the cpu and me was like playing a better game. That one increase really improved All-Star. The cpu has some real bite both pitching and hitting!

The Orioles hat 10 hits. One double and 3 homers. 2 by Alberto.
My Yankees had 8 hits. A double by Voit and Torres belted 3 bombs. I was able to draw 4 walks and struck out 9 times.

Absolutely one of the best games I've experienced!

Out of interest where are you batting Torres in the line up? I’m halfway through Spring Training and he has worked his way into the No 4 slot for me.

He's batting 3rd in the order between Judge and Stanton.

                          Dude WHAT?

I have been a fan of your sliders in other games but never tried your The Show sliders. I decided to give yours a shot. I have your hitting and pitching setups identical except my pitch speeds are 8/7. I have some fielding differences (4/4 reaction/speed, 3/7 for IF/OF arms, 7 baserunner speed) That I really enjoy from previous sets and testing but these played INCREDIBLY. I just won a crazy 3-2 game.

                          Best part?

It was my first ever game without vibration or a ball marker while pitching

I nibbled too much, I had to really really fight my way through at-bats and my starter (SP1) only made it through 5 innings pitched with 100 pitches thrown but it was such a rewarding experience. I can't wait to keep trying these out but you've won me over to this setup right now

I'm a idiot. Been raking like a boss in my franchise. First 4 games belted 3,3,6, and 2 home runs. Started my 5th game and in bottom of the 1st went to lower the timing slider and noticed both my pitch speed sliders were at default.

Went to 7/6 and hit just 1 homer in my next 2 games, and that was a perfect hit by Brett Gardner right down the middle.

A couple of updates to the OP

                                CPU Contact = 6
                                User/CPU Stamina = 6
                                Injuries = 6

The big one here is the CPU Contact. With user pitch control at 6, this was a needed counter-balance. Now, they are disciplined, but WILL drive pitches in the zone. Before, I was just seeing WAY too many called strikes with pitches well in the zone. The great part, you can still K batters AND still walk them.

Someone might say, if you need the balance, why not go back to default for both? Good question. Answer = because it was too easy to strike out batters. We want an intelligent AI that can keep us mentally focused, This change should allow for that to happen in spades.
