Pissed though because I can’t seem to import my (Bacon fictional roster) franchise

I've realized I'm scoring to much on allstar but on HOF I'm getting throttled. What's the easiest way to get your difficulty to AS+?

Spring training games for franchise usually help, or you can up the dynamic difficulty slider until you hit the desired level. If you are playing the 21 version of the show you should be able to just start on either all star or all star +.... I think.

You can't start in All Star + but you can start in the All Star. You go to exhibition and play a Double A team. Spike up all your offensive slider settings and turn up the dynamic slider setting. You will rip the cover off the balls and a couple of home runs will jump you to All Star +. Then turn down the sliders to normal and drop the Dynamic slider to 0 to lock it. Sim the rest of the game and that setting is locked in for the user that you are playing on.

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders

Three things I noticed in my small sample size (6 full games).

            1. Just like in years past I'm pretty positive both pitch speeds need to go up a few ticks. With the fastball being one tick higher. There is still not enough difference between the different pitches when they're the same value. Right now I'm at 7/6 but will likely go up to 8/7 in the near future.

            2. I've played on AP and HOF and on both I've seen a ton of bloopers into the shallow outfield for singles. It's like the outfielders are jogging on these. (I understand outfielders play bloopers on the bounce) dont seem like they're doing that here. But on the contrary they're back tracking for hard hit balls very quick.

            3. I've seen a TON of ground rule doubles.

#2 may just be something I've seen in my small sample size but I'm gonna keep a eye on it just in case and let you know if it continues.

You cannot earn XP when using custom sliders. Honestly, I think that's a terrific move by SDS to avoid people cheesing to gain XP (especially since it is now tied to the innings programs for DD). If folks have issues with that, post feedback to SDS' website. And yes, I play a ton of offline DD and there's plenty to do this year for offline players; I have zero qualms with this move. (That's all I have to say about this topic)

              ---------------------------------

Onto slider stuff: I'm diving straight into last year's OP on All Star+. Default feels very much the same as it did last year and I think our adjustments will work perfectly. Now....with SDS rosters, I will have to monitor power numbers to see if we need to drop the power slider. We'll do that over the coming weeks.

              ---------------------------------

              Roster stuff:

So, the SDS roster isn't horrible, but it isn't awesome either. I ran a 20 year sim and basically saw the following:

              1. there are a small handful of minor deals in season 1 as teams balance out their systems. Easy adjustment to make sure each team has +1 above the minimum for each position (aside closer).

              2. The highest overall I saw for Free Agents remaining unsigned after an off-season was 79. That appeared to be some sort of 'cap'.

              3. There were occasions where there were some pretty good prospects stuck off the 40-man. This also lead to occasions where solid players were available in the Rule 5 draft.

              4. Overall team lineup quality quickly went up by year 3 and stabilized at a point where nearly all starters were in the 80s/90s OVR (with some 70s). There WERE some obvious 'bad' teams though. Lineup quality did not begin to drop back until year 15 (when 'real' players finally got flushed-out). It was fantastic (like along Bacon levels) by year 20. This is obviously tied to player potentials being too high on a few too many players and I suspect will be even worse for those that use the various custom rosters that will eventually come out as they will just hammer-in more A/B/C potential players. That said, what I saw in this simulation was still quite a bit better than running with SDS rosters last year. At the end of the day, it still isn't quite enough to make me want to do heavy edits to the roster but I may make sure that none of the 'fake' guys have potentials above a D. If I do perform some roster editing for my own purposes, I will upload it and let ya'll know....this may be a while...so don't wait around on me

I'll add the slider info to the OP sometime later today.

LOL. You two are the greatest, and let the record state that I am annoyed y’all are on different ends of the debate on this hahaha!!!

I feel like 20 is the way to go, unless they “fix” SoTS for 21 PS4. But I won’t derail the thread.

                  Following, for sure.

I caved and bought ‘21 on next gen, and it isn’t as bad as I thought. I didn’t like all the features they removed, but I’m excited to hear about the roster and FA/trade logic being improved.

I will be using your sliders Josh and I agree about the XP. Its not a big deal if you can’t earn it in franchise. You got other modes like Rtts and DD (which for the first time I’ve actually went through the tutorial and played a few challenges) and it’s actually pretty fun, something I can do when franchise gets a little “boring”

                    Let’s play ball!

I only used the XP to buy the sponsorships to give to the other team that Armor does in his post. So I won’t miss it too much.

On 20, I felt like the game needed to be just a tad more challenging on AS/AS+. I'm curious to see how 21 compares in your early tests.

                            Just as an FYI.

I have uploaded a modification to SDS' roster to the Vault under my user name JoshC1977.

This roster does not add players; but I did fairly extensive potential edits across the roster; there were just WAY too many A potential guys. I also dropped potentials of the A/B potential 'fake' guys in A ball (and lowered ratings for the handful over 70 OVR. Ran a simulation with these and it muted quite a few of the issues I noted in my previous post.

Still evaluating sliders; but I will say this, there is no way I will use defaults.
