I've been dealing with some real life stuff. I also am not too keen on streaming when I'm "testing" things out with this game.

With it being on XBox finally I am beyond excited to start up a franchise and roll with my Padres, maybe do some sort of player only one, I don't know just so many possibilities. I don't have nearly as much time to game as I used to however I am all in on helping test when you get something to work with. Thanks for all you do for the gaming community my friend.
What's up my man??!!! Think you're going to really enjoy this game and XBox fans got this series at the right time; as this is 100% the best on-the-field gameplay thus far.

Yes, I have....but not on defaults. I'll be posting a status update at some point today.

Been getting my DD grind on here since launch, but will be surely be diving into some franchise play again this year- with this set of course.

Been some chatter around rosters, seeing how all that will shake out.

Early impression from default settings All Star: The AI is improved upon from even 2020. Amazing how you adding a few transition animations in the field really just open up the play that much more.

The CPU AI both on the mound and at the plate feels more refined as well. Honestly playing conquest in DD, it sometimes feels like I'm playing a human opponent with the pitch locations/sequencing- really enjoyable!

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders

I've gotten quite a few games under my belt thus far but I'll be frank, I'm also enjoying the heck out of grinding DD offline too. (Just a note there: offline DD defaults to competitive mode; so there is a transition over to Simulation if you're like me and plan on playing both franchise and DD)

But, I have run about a dozen test games within franchise mode (I only test there). This game is so incredibly well-balanced out of the box that this is, in a way, the most difficult game in the series to really assess for sliders. I'm not going to willy-nilly make changes for the sake of making changes though.

I had a few observations playing on default All Star:

        - Pitcher stamina values are a hair too low for base rosters. Starter stamina at default basically takes the pitcher's stamina rating at a 1:1 ratio to the number of effective pitches he can throw before he wears-down. With so many pitchers with stamina ratings in the 70s; this is problematic. I'm bumping this up one-click, which will add another 10 pitches or so (each click upward adds ~10 pitches). I don't want to go too much higher as we'll begin seeing super high stamina pitchers work some crazy pitch counts and overall, the stamina rating will begin to become more meaningless.
        - Every year, I run sims for injuries and see how high we can push things before we start seeing every team turn into a MASH unit. This year, a value of 7 works well. We'll be running with this for both simmed games and played games.
        - Errors are absolutely awesome right now. I've primarily been using my Reds and they're pretty awful defensively. The game reflects this beautifully.
        - Hit variety is off the charts. My gut keeps telling me to lower solid hits a notch; my eyes are telling me something different. I need time here...because of the next item....
        - Is it just me, or do default settings yield an extreme low run-scoring environment? I'm not complaining after MLBTS20: HR Derby. But, I've yet to see a ton of variety here. I'm going to need to test a variety of teams/matchups to see how things shake out.

I'm going to post the WIP sliders (which are just the SP Stamina/Injury adjustments) on the OP.

I'd like to get folks feedback for games played in franchise mode with this setup. Let us all know how your games are shaping-up. One other thing, while it should be exactly the same experience; please indicate which system your games are being played on.

        One final thing: rosters.

Once access to the roster vault has been restored, I plan on downloading Funkycorn's adjusted potentials roster. SDS' default roster has about 5 times too many A potential players than what works well within franchise. I did my own effort but I strongly suspect his was more methodical than mine.

Yes! My first game on 21 (PS4) I played as SD vs CIN (two teams I have oddly grown an interest in; but I digress). Suarez bobbled a ball at SS but still made the play, and Moustskas was attempting a DP and threw the ball into RF. These were both within the first two innings!

Yes, I realize that this is obviously a small sample size, but even with A&S BRILLIANT 20 sliders, I still felt I didn’t see enough errors.

            Josh,

Since you're playing DD as well, I'm curious what differences you're seeing between Competitive and Simulation styles. Obviously user input matters more on Competitive, but are you seeing any major AI differences?

Are you doing pitch speed at 5/5? I had to go 7/7 cause I was ahead of everything. I was struggling with hitting.

I'm with you on this one. On 5/5 I was ahead of everything and just looking like a absolute fool at the plate (more than I already do [emoji1787]) . I've always had my fastball speed 1 tick higher than the offspeed. I'm using 7-6 right now and loving it.

I am and as always, you can continue to use whatever pitch speeds work for you. I'm going to guess that my pitch speed setting will ramp-up as the year goes on.

Understand that I only play offline DD AND I use the exact same 'clean screen' setup I have posted here. In general, there isn't a ton of difference. I see more errors on "sim" (which may be more the result of higher ratings for DD cards); but that's the biggest thing. It actually plays a good brand of baseball as I'm not using the more 'input driven' interfaces.

So far, I'm not. The speed differential has been really good for me. I feel like the timing window is smaller so it allows for a much more realistic set of outcomes than we ever had on 20.

A couple patches in this game and it will be golden. I love the series recap idea. Gives some of your stats like batting average and runs allowed. And the scores of the games.

It will be nice when they can correct it. My 2nd game of a 3 game series it kept saying I was going for the sweep. And I think the first game of the next series it was saying I was trying to even the series up.

But this is typical bugs at the release of the game. MLB 20 had presentation bugs too.

I've played a very minimal amount so far but holy hell this game is beautiful. It's been so long since I've been able to play a solid baseball game. It's so refreshing. On a side not I freaking suck hahaha. But it's all good. I'll pick it up quickly (I hope lol). Plugged in your initial sliders and will try to get some games in this week.

                            It really is....

Now, a lot of my settings that tie into a 'clean screen' perspective may not be up your alley (and they aren't totally "newbie friendly"). You might find some edification in getting used to doing some things with indicators turned-on and then turning them off as you go.

Feel free to PM me if you ever have questions.

I am on xbox. This is the first time playing the game.

I have 2 questions. Did you start a franchise before entering the settings you have posted on the first page because while i have found a few of the settings listed in the options menu. The options menu is missing quite a few option you listed towards the top of the list.

                              Question 2
What is all star+? All I see is All-Star and the next skill level is HOF.
