Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders

I added the below to the second post of the thread (which I use to house 'ancillary' information)

    Steps for Using Dynamic Difficulty:

    1. Go into game settings and change hitting and pitching to dynamic.
    2. Load sliders, make sure the dynamic difficulty sensitivity slider is set to 5. (It can be higher as well while you do your run to boost the difficulty).
    3. Save any changes to the sliders.
    4. Go into a Play Now game and see what level it has you set to (there will be a pop-up).
    5. Play the game and wait for it to go to AS+. (now...if it starts you at a lower level...go ahead and boost the sensitivity slider to 10 and/or bias the sliders completely in your favor - this all will just make it go faster).
    6. Once you hit AS+ on both hitting and pitching, exit the game you're playing. Go and load the OP sliders and then change the dynamic difficulty sensistivity slider to 0. That will lock you into AS+.
    7. Once in franchise, double check your game settings and sliders and make sure they are what you want.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I have 2 questions. Did you start a franchise before entering the settings you have posted on the first page because while i have found a few of the settings listed in the options menu. The options menu is missing quite a few option you listed towards the top of the list.
I'll double-check the settings, but please note that as you go through the options, there are 'general' and advanced tabs that you can toggle.

          Am I doing something wrong?

I started exhibition game astros vs dodgers. I got both pitching and batting at dynamic with the modified slider changes. After 3 innings I got 8 strike outs and it still shows me in rookie mode on the pitching.

            Thanks!

On 20, I had a lot of good games on AS and AS+ and my stats were pretty realistic, but I always seemed to win. I'm tempted to see if Competitive ups the challenge just a tad.

I'm an offline clean screener too with Directional/Classic. Feels a bit sacrilegious to stray from Simulation, but I think I'm going to try Competitive to see how it goes.

I’m not trying to answer for josh, but you can move the dynamic difficulty slider up to 10 if you want to progress faster.

I play on hall of fame for hitting and its a good challenge but I also get realistic stats. Everyone’s skills are different!

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders

Hey Josh, love the sliders. First time playing MLB the show since I am on Xbox.

I am on All-Star+ as the Padres and also have been using the clean screen settings others and you reccomend, but wanted your input on something.

Currurently I am 22-18 and leading all of baseball in pitching strikeouts, and pitching walks (least walks allowed). I also lead in opposing BA.

Now this changes significantly when they get into my bullpen but Darvish, Snell, Lamet, and Clevinger are racking up the Ks.

                    Darvish: 13:29 K/9
                    Snell: 11.43 K/9
                    Lamet: 12.64 K/9
                    Clevinger: 14.12 K/9
                    Musgrove: 7.18 K/9
                    Paddack (as a RP): 8.54 K/9

My RPs are all between 5 and 8 K/9 except for Pomeranz who is at 10.11 K/9. All of the ERAs are fine

They also all have low BB/9 rates as well. Should I move up to Hall of Fame and keep the sliders the same or increase CPU contact/timing/solid hits? Or maybe decrease a user pitching setting?

                    Thanks in advance!

Thank you to the people that replied to my post. I have figured things out.

Like the set up so far. Not sure how I feel about pitching without the ball showing before you throw. I have tried it both ways.

One thing I have to do differently is show the base runner window. When I got my first man on 1st base I could not even see him. For those of you that play with the base runner window off it seems almost impossible to know if you could steal let alone get back to the bag if you had much of a lead off the bag when pitcher tries to throw you out.

1st game was fun got 12ks in 10 innings and hit a grandslam in the 10th to win

I play with base runner windows off but I play with a fisheye 2 cam, slightly zoomed in. Each base is at the edge of my screen and it still gives me a beautiful view of the ballpark.

You literally have to change just two sliders

I’m going to try these out on HOF and let you know what I think Josh. I’m even going to go with 5/5 pitch speeds to see how I like them

Now, a lot of my settings that tie into a 'clean screen' perspective may not be up your alley (and they aren't totally "newbie friendly"). You might find some edification in getting used to doing some things with indicators turned-on and then turning them off as you go.

Feel free to PM me if you ever have questions.
For sure. I had to keep the strike zone on until I learn it better. Most of the other stuff isn't to bad. But I'll slowly remove things as I get better. This game is very fun for sure.
